Heres to another great week Ladies!!!! :grouphug:

bbybear712 01-25-2010 06:47 AM

Congratulations

Great job Blue team on a fabulous week. Together as a team we can accomplish anything!

mageorge 01-25-2010 06:50 AM

Awesome job, blue team! Keep up the good work...week four already...let's show red team what we are really made of! :carrot:

btw...now that I have over 20 posts and 20 days, how do I become a senior membet? Guess I am suffering from "graphics" envy! Thanks for the help.

thinnerbyjuly 01-25-2010 06:52 AM

BIG BIG Congrats to weebles,Nella,Turning30 and shoupfamily for being the biggest losers this week :) :)

Dora your poem was beautiful!!!!!!!

I read the end of the last thread and now that I'm here I can't remember what I wanted to say! Maybe I need coffee first!

Well after my first 2 awesome weeks I knew it had to slow down but I didn't want to go backwards! That darn scale bounced up to 188 a few days ago and decided to stick there it seems. GRRRRRR

I hated showing a gain for the blue team!!!!!!

On the shoes I bought. Upon waking up today I do feel a bin of soreness in the calves and butt so I guess they do something! My back now feels almost 100% normal so I'll hit the exercise. Hope that shakes something lose!

Have a terrrific day blue team!

weebleswobble 01-25-2010 08:23 AM

Michelle, I bought the sketchers (from Kohl's on sale and then with a 30% coupon on top so they were a little less than $50, I hadn't heard of the therashoes, so I thought the sketchers were a deal in comparison to the MBTs which are hundreds). They came right before I hurt myself so I didn't get a chance to use them. I was going to put them in my car to use to walk at school (I usually have dress shoes) and other opportunities like going out shopping or whatever after church, they are black mary jane type things that wouldn't scream out under black pants or with a skirt (look like nurse shoes).

I usually walk my dogs at home in the cemetery so I'd probably kill myself with those in about five minutes. I haven't been brave enough to try them yet. Maybe next week!

My goal for this week is ONEDERLAND. Selina are you coming with me? :)

dayoneagain 01-25-2010 08:38 AM

Congrats to everyone on their losses this week, especially our biggest losers!

I had a pretty dreadful week weight-loss-wise, but fantastic times with family and friends at various parties and celebrations, so I think it was worth it. Back on track this morning with a 5km run which was toouuugh!!!

Feeling great! Have a very busy week ahead with job interviews and such but am determined to keep my calories down and my exercise up! :carrot:

Turning30 01-25-2010 09:10 AM

Congrats on another good week everyone! Is anyone else following the South Beach Diet? I started it 2 weeks ago, and have lost almost 9lbs in the first 2 weeks following Phase 1 where you eat very few carbs. Today I am supposed to be starting Phase 2 where you add healthy carbs back into your diet. I am so tempted to stay on Phase 1 a little bit longer to keep losing quickly. Anyone else tried this? For the most part we (my husband and I) have been eating low-fat dairy and lean meats along with salads and veggies. But no whole grains and no fruits, so I know its not healthy long-term. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

hsmomx2 01-25-2010 10:11 AM

Congratulations to weebles,Nella,Turning30 and shoupfamily for being the biggest losers this week!

Nixmom 01-25-2010 12:24 PM

WOOHOO for blue losses! keep it up girls!

I am back on track this morning. Boohooed about my lack luster past weeks last night on the old thread. Feeling like I just need to suck it up today and do what I know I need to and deserve to.

BIGMID - You are not alone in the ho-hums, but that was yesterday. Wanna be my accountability partner and get here every day to check up? Lord knows I need it.

I gained this week... as a matter of fact I have gained this whole challenge so far (not suprisingly) but I am changing my ways a headed to join some challenges and log my food!

Lets go ONEderlanders! I am pushing full force to stay under 200. Hit 199.8 BLECH! Off it goes this week though. Maybe I need to pay for bootcamp one more time after all..... hmmmm

Institches21 01-25-2010 12:25 PM

Congrats to The Blue Team-
Way to Go to our Biggest Loser-weebleswobble
Great Job to our Runners Up- Nella, Turning30 and shoupfamily

May this be a Great Week for All!!

retiredone 01-25-2010 12:55 PM

Hello people. A BIG Blue congratulations to Weebles, our Biggest Loser and our runners-up Nella,Turning30 and shoupfamily. Fantastic job, ladies.

I had a run-in with Christmas cake last night. Yum, yum but oh so bad. I guess it was latent Christmas eating. It's all put away now so it's safe.

Anyhoo, let's make this a good week whether we win or lose.

Nella 01-25-2010 02:07 PM

Wow! Great job all!!! Thanks for all the kind words!

Nixmom - Glad to see you on the boards!! We've missed ya! Now :coach: get back out there, drop and give me 20!!!

Mercy - I could never put you to shame!

Turning30 - I've thought about doing SB for a while. I just keep forgetting when I go shopping and buy rice and potatoes, lol.

Dayone - Good Luck with the job stuff!!

Thinner - It will even out. We all bounce around.

Isabella - A little bit of cake isn't so bad. You've worked hard and can't deprive your self of all the yummy stuff!

weebleswobble 01-25-2010 06:01 PM

Turning30, people stay on SBD phase 1 longer than 2 weeks (or a modified phase 1.5) usually if they have a lot of weight to lose. I am one of those people. For example, I do it a little different, I follow SBD 2 except I don't add in brown rice (I don't like it much) or the low-carb bread (don't like it much either). I do have low-carb wraps, and all the veggies and fruit I want. I suppose I'm at about a 1.75 now. :)

The whole concept behind going from phase 1 to 2 in two weeks is not so much about keeping people from losing weight too fast, but rather making sure that we are re-programming our ability to make good choices. The Dr. who designed the plan doesn't want it to be a diet, he wants it to be a life change.

Even at the all-inclusive "no rules on food, I'm on vacation" buffet, I found myself making great choices, like,"first trip through, try a plate of that wonderful freshfruit. Do I really want deep-fried when I could have asparagus?" And I just avoided the bread table altogether.

shoupfamily 01-25-2010 06:36 PM

We soooo creamed the red team and left them in our dust!! :carrot:

ars 01-25-2010 08:32 PM

Woo hoo! Way to go Blue Team!!!!

Congrats to our biggest losers this week! I couldn't wait to get home today to see how we all did!

I had an interesting exchange with one of my co-workers at lunch time. She is doing WW, and is doing awesome...you can see the weight loss on her already and I told her so today (I don't know exactly, but I'd guess she had maybe 20 pounds to lose at most). Anyway, she said we're really doing it this time, really making a change, the kind of change that sticks for life. It made me happy. I only hope we continue on the right course!

One of the best things to come out of my new habits is that I find it much easier to wake up in the morning. I mean, I actually get out of bed, can take my time to shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Before, I was hitting snooze non-stop...now it's only once or twice. And I'm getting to work on time, instead of 5 minutes late!

That's the beauty of weight loss and how it affects our bodies. More energy, more motivations, etc.,.........You are doing great Ars, keep it up!:carrot:

Mercy03 01-25-2010 10:14 PM

NELLA!!!!!!!!!!!! You rock:cheer2::cheer2:

@Diva and Echo.......... Miss you! Where are my peeps?

dream710 01-25-2010 11:05 PM

Congrats Blue team and to our biggest losers!

Ok ladies I'm thinking about trying spaghetti squash. What am I looking for when I pick one out and how do I cook it.

Nixmom 01-25-2010 11:15 PM

dream - I cut them in 1/2 lengthwise, place them cut side down in about 1/4 inch of water in a casserole dish, and microwave them. about 10 minutes. I then let them cool a bit, use a fork to shred them up and freeze anything I dont use in small portions that are easy to thaw and throw in little meals. Picking them.... I dont have any real method besides checking out the price. :) I cant wait to hear what others respond!

So, although I didnt go tonight (sick) I did commit to another 6 weeks of bootcamp. I will have a loss next week, and the week after, and the week after. No doubt. I'm pumped.

Off to get a good nights sleep. Hope you all are having a great night.

Doragone 01-26-2010 07:01 AM

What a Team!!!!

Congratulations Winners (& Losers)

Very proud of our team. :carrot: I've helped a little, but my eating is still not good, eating poorly - mostly comfort foods -:nono: and don't worry, I don't intend to comfort myself indefinitely. I will come around. :crossed: Still working through my grief in poetry, this time to thank all those who reached out and touched me. You can read it here,

http://www.facebook.com//profile.php...&id=1531509773

and thank you to those who read before and were so sweet to express an interest.

Keep up the good work team!!!!

Dora

bbybear712 01-26-2010 07:55 AM

For spaghetti squash I cut in half and then I boil them until it's fork tender. I also heard that you can roast them in a pan in the oven.

thinnerbyjuly 01-26-2010 07:58 AM

Good morning team. I can not believe I have a hangover off two diet lemon aids and vodka. Yikes. I have not had vodka in years and wont again.

Yesterday I took a 30 min walk on the treadmill in the therashoes. I had to go slower than normal but wow wow wow. I felt it in my butt, hips and low abs.

Dora just so you are eating hun! Hugs and prayers

Excuse this not being real personal but I swear hitting the keys is LOUD!!!!!!! I think I may want to crawl in a hole today! TTYL!

Soon2BFitChick 01-26-2010 09:07 AM

Good morning ladies!!! :coffee2:

I'm making coffee and reading up on posts! I'm taking time out today to do some personals. I miss doing them when I don't have time! :( Anyhoo, Congrats to our biggest losers Weebles!!! Nella, Turning30 and Shoupfamily!!! :dancer: Great!!!

Well, I made it to Onederland, and yes, it feels great to be here! :encore: Then a day later I was 198.0. Wow! Then today I'm 203.0, one day after that! Uggh!!! Guess I'm about to ride the dang cotton pony thing soon. :moo: LOL! :tantrum: So I will use the lowest for the week when weigh in comes. Why do we have to have the stupid curse!!!

Weebles, Congrats on Biggest Lossser!!! :cheer3: So I guess I need to re-enter Onederland with you this week? So frustrating!!

dayone, Glad you've had a fun week! How does Onederland feel when you finally get away from 200ville for good? :?:

Turning30, Great job losing!! :cp: Sorry, I know nothing about South Beach.

Michelle, Don't worry, I hate showing gains too but it'll come right back off too! :goodscale:

Mageorge, Yay! Now you get graphics!! They didn't do that to us when I started years ago. They are fun!! Congrats!!

Cat, Woohoo! :woohoo: Great to plan ahead! I should do that more myself!

Nixmom, Yay! Onederland!!! :cb: I'm right there with you!! Feels good huh? Oooh and bootcamp sounds funnnn!!!! :drill:

Sue, Hiya!! You are where I am too!! Well, was for a day. :( I hate periods. Reeeeally not fair. Well, it'll be over in a week then I have 3 weeks to lose again!! Oh yeah, and a big congrats about hitting 100 lbs down!! When I get to 177 I'm down that too! :broc:

Isabella, Did you lock up that cake?? It'll be calling your name by noon!!! Cake is scary. I used to eat 4 big pieces for dinner when we had leftovers. That was a long time ago, Thank God I don't do that anymore!!! :yikes: Congrats on locking it away! I just get it outta the house. :rollpin:

ars, That's great that your positive changes are helping you in many ways. We don't realize it til we notice it happening. If someone had told me that eating right, getting a little more exercise would help me wake up better in the morning, I would have said, Yeah, sure. But in truth, I see it too for me. Congrats!!! It's great when you can really FEEL the changes, huh? :D

Hiya to babygrant! Hey to Mercy! Hello to Hsmom! Hi Diva! And hi to all the bluezers; sorry if I missed anyone!!

Does anyone know how many we have left since the very beginning? How many bluezers we have lost? It's usually about the same every year. I was just wondering. So happy we are all still here!!! :cheer3:

Hugs to each of you, have a great OP day!!!
Selina

smith1313 01-26-2010 09:26 AM

:coffee: Good Morning Ladies!!

I am having a twist on this week, I did a freebie last week but I think I need someone to kick me. I need to have lost 2.5 pounds in order to reach my goal for January...that is 5 days! Wish me luck!!!

chiquita623 01-26-2010 09:36 AM

Good Morning Ladies. Hope the sun is shining where you are!! It certainly isn't here where I'm at.

Congrats to our Blue Team and our Biggest Losers!! You all rock!!

Oh well. Just wanted to pop in. Was in Philly last week at DD's. Had a good time. But glad to get back home too.

Back to work after a week off. Trying to get caught up. I'll check back in later.

Soon2BFitChick 01-26-2010 09:40 AM

Ooops!! :yikes:

Dream-Spaghetti squash sounds interesting!!! I wanna make that southwest soup, has chicken, corn and tomatoes, etc.??

Dora, You are a wonderful poet!! Wow, wayyy better than I could do!!! :cp:

Hiya to bbybear too!! :broc: Hiya to Susan  and Laurie too! :carrot:

So sorry! I'd made notes on 4 sticky notes and found I forgot this one! LOL!

Hugs! Selina

dayoneagain 01-26-2010 11:13 AM

Soon2B, haha, I don't know if I'm solidly in onederland just yet. I think I could quite easily get back up to 200. I'm hoping that getting myself to the gym every day will inspire me enough to not slip back into old habits!

I am trying something a bit new, going a bit south beach... Not sure if it's a mistake, but I fancy doing something different. I have done similar (Atkins) before, years ago, and the losing weight part was so so easy (I got down to 160 pounds) , it's just maintaining that was impossible (although I think I just fell firmly off the wagon rather than trying to adapt the diet to "real life" and maintain).

I still have to do my exercise for today. Gogogogogooooo! :D

Bigmid 01-26-2010 11:24 AM

Morning Ladies!!! I hope all is well with the Blue Team

Congratulations to our biggest losers weebleswobble, Nella, Turning 30, and shoupfamily.

Nixmom - Accountability partners you say.....I like it it gives me even more reason to come on I am now doubly (sp) accountable. So as partners can you kick my butt downstairs to workout:^:....after I'm done on here of course. Congratulations on doing the bootcamp again, I think I need something like that as well. They are expensive though but as long as they work were worth it.

dream710- I love spaghetti squash I am usually lazy and just cut in 1/4 and nuke it then pull the strands off with a fork and enjoy with a little FF margarine, salt and pepper. I have also just tossed it in the oven wrapped in foil (1/4) like you would a baked potatoe. The other day I had leftover spaghetti sauce and put the squash into that and also very yummy....enjoy.

thinnerbyjuly - I hope your hangover goes away soon...you should look into putting a sliencer on you keyboard...LOL I'm glad your shoes are working out good for you. I really want a pair but I don't want to pay the $100.00 plus for them. I looked up the therashoe but I can't seem to find any stores in Canada with them. I will keep looking though.

Soon2BFitChick - Hope you are enjoying your morning coffee. Congratulations of making it to onederland. I was hoping to be there by now myself but I got off track and am having a hard time find my way back. But I can't look at where I should have been by now, I have to look at where I am and keep going.

Smith1313 - consider yourself kicked.:)

Sorry if I missed anyone the whole team is doing great.:carrot::carrot:

Nella 01-26-2010 12:31 PM

I make spaghetti squash by cutting it in half, take out the seeds, then put the halves face down in a casserole dish with a little water and bake at 350 until tender. Usually about 30 mins-hour. Depending on how big it is. I recommend getting a smaller one to try for your first one. Then you just scrape it with a fork and pull out the strings. It's pretty good with some pasta sauce and a little cheese, or some salt/pepper/ butter. It'll have a different texture than real pasta, so it takes a little getting used to.

That's all the time I have for now, gotta go run an errand on my lunch break.

Big  to all you chickies!!!!!

bbybear712 01-26-2010 01:09 PM

Soon2befit- Great job on making it to onderland. Is it said I dream about twoderland? lol
Also congrats to dayoneagain for making to to onderland as well.

I like to eat my spaghetti with a homemade alfredo sauce. I love my alfredo but after adding it on pasta what's the point. I make a roasted red pepper one and add a little to the spaghetti squash, add some chicken now thats a good meal

retiredone 01-26-2010 02:27 PM

Nella and Selina, the cake has been closed up. And I'm afraid to tell you it wasn't a small piece I had. It was outrageous the amount I ate but that was Sunday.

Glad Dream asked about Spaghetti squash. I've always wanted to try it and now I have a few idea. Thanks Dream for asking and everyone for replying.

I was going to do personals but DH is taking me out for a little spin in the car so I'll be back.

Have a great day.

Diva 01-26-2010 07:19 PM

I love how y'all inspire me to try new things. Spaghetti squash sounds delish! I can't wait to try it. :)

Diva 01-26-2010 07:22 PM

I definitely think that the lady from the red team threw the weigh in. There is no way she lost nothing in two weeks. I think they would be able to tell from their body bugs...calories in and calories out. That won't lie! What does everyone else think...
