ETA - Well that turned out a mess. When I go to edit everything is in three nice columns where it is easy to read, but whenever it posts it is all jumbled. I hope you can still read it. The first number is the pounds lost, and the second is the percentage of starting weight lost.

Sorry for using a freebie. I am up a pound. I have not been eating well and did not get in any exercise unless you count shopping. I will do better this week. I did great at the grocery store and fresh market and get some fresh fruit and veggies and some low sugar hot chocolate. I am sure these things will help. I am happy about one thing though I bought some dress pants on sale about 2 months ago and this morning they fit great. now they fit when I bought them but I was a little concerned about the rear but today they fit good and drum roll please I tucked my shirt in, probably the first time I have in about 4 years. I have gotten a lot of recognition (which I could do without) especially since I have not lost any weight recently and I have actually been this size for about 6 weeks. But I appreciated any compliments I can get.

I am so behind on my Holiday shopping. The kids keep changing their minds!!!

KimL1214 12-07-2009 10:46 AM

Not the best weekend ever, but not too bad either. Last night was basically my fall apart with pizza and wings, which was totally unplanned and a quick impulse which is totally unacceptable... but happened... and I think I'm going to flip on my boss here in a second... no stress in my job... no stress!

MonteCristo 12-07-2009 11:21 AM

I've posted a last chance workout for this week. Let's all work hard to make this one of Red Team's best weeks!

shea5 12-07-2009 11:39 AM

Not a bad week for me, a little loss to balance out the gains, but overall I disappointed myself this challenge. I didn't have a firm enough plan going in, and crumbled when things got crazy. Now I'm just going to try to have a strong last week, try to make it 4.5 lbs lost for the whole challenge, and hang in at maintanance for the next one. I'm already working on the plan. I guess at least I can say I didn't drop out...:) Thats something positive, and I'm going to be all about being positive from now on...

Meredith

Ms Perception 12-07-2009 12:15 PM

I was able to post my best loss of the challenge this week. TOM really was kind to me and took some pounds off when he arrived. This week holds MANY challenges for me, so I'm not sure what my total loss will show for the week. DS's birthday is tomorrow and Family Christmas #1 is this weekend (including a trip to my wonderful hometown). I'm shooting for maintaining. I know it's not ideal, but it would be an accomplishment for me.
On a personal note: I found out this morning that my grandma is in the hospital. I've already called and talked to her since she's feeling a bit better, but it really made the morning less good to hear she wasn't well (pneumonia and mild heart attack!). If you're a pray-er, please pray she recovers well!

Cape Breton Chick 12-07-2009 12:51 PM

Hey Ladies, here is an info thread I would like all of you who have signed up for the new challenge starting in January, to take a read through. There have been some changes, and I hope you all will be as excited as Monte and I are!!

Congrats IGetFit your doing so good.

Sorry I had to use my last freebie this week. I stepped on the scale this morning with a huge gain. Not really sure what happened. I've been stressed a lot with some things going on and trying to get ready to leave for Japan in four days! I'm going to do my best to get to the gym today (Tues), Wednesday, and Thursday. I'm supposed to weigh in Friday so really my last weigh in for this challenge is only covering about four days worth of diet and exercise.

Hope everyone has a good week and finishes strong!

ArmyWife02 12-07-2009 08:18 PM

i got new tires this morning - went in to have my rack n pinion checked and they said it should be good till hubby gets home and then go from there on what to do....but they gave me a good deal on the tires and went ahead and got the lifetime warranty alignment...but once they put my new tires on - my van didnt need an alignment. lol ;) so yippee on that. but mom was paying so she told me to go ahead and have them put the lifetime alignment on the bill and pay for it, so i'm covered down the line. so this was my christmas and birthday (since the total for the alignment, tires, and battery went over her allotted amount)....so i'm happy to not have that out of pocket expense...
my parents will be here in about 2 weeks ;) kids are excited and want the tree up. lol but its outside in the storage shed and have to pull lots of stuff out to get to it - so waiting for the rain to clear and the patio to be dry before doing that.

i hope to get better on planning and workouts/eating this coming week. i'm pumped for tomorrow's finale!! it's so motivating to watch the progress each week ;)
i hope to do a workout on the wii after i watch one tree hill ;) i have some serious house cleaning/clearing out to do this coming week to be ready for house guests.....have to figure where daddy and mom will sleep. last time they were both here (for the first time, at the same time - oddly enough they rode together in daddy's truck for DD's kinder graduation) - daddy slept in DD's room and my mom slept on my sofa... (they divorced 20+ yrs ago). but since there's no school - might put the blow up mattress in the living room or DD's room - depending on where she wants to sleep ;) lol

ArmyWife02 12-08-2009 12:58 AM

I did it!! I was inspired by the new last last chance workout ;) luckily i found it in time to get it done.....i made goals for each day.....and I did all 3 for today!! I'm so happy. i havent worked out in a while, and this was just what i needed to kick my butt back into it and i was disappointed that i've set goals to workout this month and have done none of them...well that stopped today! :)
I did 61 minutes of my wii fit plus workouts for a 650 calorie burn :) i ate 1470 cal, so i NET only 380 ;) hopefully the scale will move in the right direction tomorrow and motivate me even more...plus can;t wait to see the finale tomorrow nite ;) I plan to do some handweights during the show on my ball :)
i'm so proud of me ;) well it's 1158pm and i have to get up in less than 7 hours to get the kids ready to take DD to school. ;) just had to share ;)

Thank you Hun, oh I am so excited for you I've always wanted to go to Japan. The gain is probably water retention, if I even look at salt I swell up. I hope you have the time of your life in Japan. Where do you plan to stay? Which cities are you visting and what sites are you planning on seeing?

shan84 12-08-2009 02:28 AM

IGetFit-

Thanks I hope its just water retention. I'm trying not to get too down about it and just pick back up and finish this week strong. I'm heading off the island I live on, to mainland Korea on Friday night. Then catching the ferry to Japan on Saturday. I will be staying in Fukuoka, Japan. It's on the western side of Japan. I'm planning on doing stuff I enjoy, but never really get to do when I'm with other people. I'm going to visit the zoo, the botanical gardens, the marine world, two of the large shopping centers, and hopefully a couple of temples. I'm not really feeling excited yet. More stressed and nervous right now. I only have a few days left and its freaking me out instead of making me feel excited.

**Side Note to All: My Christmas card exchange is officially over. I have sent all my cards out as of tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone who wanted to participate!**

MonteCristo 12-08-2009 08:48 AM

The results are now posted in the the Results Thread. Congrats to Ms Perception for being the biggest loser!

crcossel 12-08-2009 10:32 AM

Well I did great! So happy. The weekend went fine. I shopped all weekend and avoided the sweet foods at the mall so with all the walking I burned tons of calories!!!

However I am looking to starting fresh for the new challenge. Mostly because we have had so many internet outages it has been difficult for me to post. However, we have someone fixing it today!!! Yeah!!!!

When does the new one start? Oh an I am interested in participating in the "in-between" stuff. It seems smart to me that the biggest time we need accountability and support is over the Christmas!

Ms Perception 12-08-2009 11:24 AM

Well, still the same weight here for the 3rd day. I'm cool with it since I know I've been OP and I'm under 132 which was my original December goal. I would really love to see those darn 120's though! We'll see, but it won't be tomorrow. I'm having a planned off-plan meal for DS's bday tonight. The plan there is to not OVEReat, just to eat slowly and enjoy the food. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Cape Breton Chick 12-08-2009 01:06 PM

Congrats Ms Perception on being this weeks OVER ALL Biggest Loser! You are doing incredible!! Good luck with your planned off-plan supper!!
Candice - here is an info thread about the new challenge.. i am encouraging everyone who is participating in the new challenge to read it through as we have made a few changes. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/bigg...ease-read.html

ArmyWife02 12-08-2009 01:42 PM

well just finished my 91 minutes of wii fit plus workouts. so i met my goal today of 90 minutes of workouts....that just leaves the strength training during the finale tonight.
i forgot to cancel our pic session at olan mills tonight...so need to shower soon and have lunch and figure out what we'll wear tonight. it's at 630pm, so will watch the finale when i get home - thank goodness for DVR :) lol
need to return some stuff to walmart before we go to the school for the preschooler story time (for kids under age 5 who arent in school - DS is 3.5 and really enjoys it since they read a story and do a craft that goes along with the story that day) :)
have started the laundry (since DD was out of socks and is wearing mine) :) and have almost got all the dishes run thru the dishwasher ;) lol still lots to do to prep for my parents coming into town in 2 weeks.

on to the good news for today.....HUBBY CALLED THIS MORNING!!!!!!! He called while we were getting ready for school....so the kids each got to talk to him and i got to talk to him. was so nice to hear his voice and talk to him ;) he doesnt call much, so we talk online almost everyday. i havent actually talked to him and heard his voice since he was home for R&R in August....so him calling meant a lot to us ;) he's mailing the blanket back home next week, since soon they will be moving out of their rooms and into tents to prep to come home in Jan ;) i figured he'd need his quilt to stay warm in the tent, but he doesnt want anything to happen to it while in transition, so he's mailing it back. ooh well, at least he got to see it and use it some ;)

MonteCristo 12-09-2009 09:55 AM

Hi Ladies! Sorry I haven't been very supportive this week. I'm just so exhausted, both mentally and physically. I really just need to get some extra sleep, put I had some really important meetings at work this week, so I had to be here.....luckily today is my rest day, so I'm going straight home and taking a nap!

Ms Perception 12-09-2009 11:00 AM

AW-Glad you got to talk to DH! That must've been fantastic. Keep up the good workouts!

Monte-Get some sleep! I know that worn out feeling...not good! Take good care of yourself.

Angela-Thanks! :D

IgetfitNStrongforme 12-09-2009 03:57 PM

Ms. Perception: :woohoo: Congrats you deserve it!

Monto Cristo (Antonia): Yes get some rest and you don't have to apologize to us we know how hard you work and all that you do as our team leader!

AW: I am glad you got to talk with DH.

Candice:

Angela: You are missed, and thanks again for the info.

I am resting and relaxing today. I am trying to get completely well. I am doing my exercise but not at the level I had. I think I was pushing myself to hard while I was fasting on the retreat and I got sick because of that.

shan84 12-10-2009 07:32 AM

Just stopping in to let everyone know I will not be going to Japan, so I will be here to weigh in next week.

I was diagnosed tonight at the hospital with a 102.2 degree temperature with swine flu. I'm now quartined to my apartment for 3-5 days while they await more tests results.

I have no clue how I caught this, other than maybe one of the kids at school was sick. I started feeling bad yesterday afternoon. I slept for like 16 hours last night. Then today, I went to school but was sent home sick. Went to the hospital tonight with 102.2 temp, tested positive for swine flu, got an iv drip, and now I'm quartined. Luckily I have such an amazing man in my life who took me in tonight, even though I really didn't want to go. I'm so blessed in my life right now.

Love to you all! Hope you have a good week!

Cape Breton Chick 12-10-2009 07:56 AM

Awwee... Shan, I am so sorry to hear that! Get lots and lots of sleep/rest.. I have know a few people who have had it as well and they felt horrible and were to stay at home for 7 days. They say we are coming to the end of the second wave of it going through our province, and are unsure as of yet of we are to expect a 3rd. I am happy I got my vaccination for it last week. Although I have a golf ball sized lump on my upper arm that I am hoping will go away soon..lol Get lots of rest and lots of water and liquids, load up on vitamin C and Zinc lozenges if you can... feel better soon!! Will be keeping you in my prayers!

shan84 12-10-2009 08:00 AM

Thanks Angela. I'm quarintined for the original 3-5 days while they wait for more test results. Then they might have to extend the quaritine. Luckily, I was already going to be off work next week for my planned vacation, so I just ended up using a sick day today and tomorrow. Not sure yet what this means for the school. We were closed before for 3 weeks for swine flu and thats just because swine flu was in our city, not because one of us actually had it. Not to mention, there are a few other teachers going to the hospital tomorrow because they are not feeling well.

MonteCristo 12-10-2009 08:30 AM

Shan - That is too bad! Not only did you have to cancel your vacation, but your stuck in bed, and with swine flu. I hope you get to feeling better really soon.

I am feeling so much better. When I got home from work yesterday I ate a ton, took a long nap, ate again ( :o ) and went to bed early. Ended up eating WAY too many calories, but today I feel awesome, so it is really hard to feel guilty! ;) But I'm back on the straight and narrow today. :D

Ms Perception 12-10-2009 11:59 AM

Monte-Glad you're back to feeling great! I indulged a bit yesterday, too. Maybe it's something about the time of year ??

Shan-Oh man, sorry to hear you're not well. I hope you're not too disappointed to miss your vacation. I'm sure you'll get plenty of rest, though I'm not sure how relaxing it'll be. I'm so glad your honey took you in. Now, take good care of yourself!

IGetFit-Seems everyone has been under the weather here and there. Make sure you get your rest and all. Definitely decrease that workout intensity if you're still gonna do it. Your body will thank you!

I was happy to see a new low today. It was just a touch lower, but it all counts in my book! I had a couple cookie bars yesterday that my mil made. I love those darn things. I finally had to tell myself, "Just say no!" after I'd already had a couple. I could've eaten the whole pan, they tasted so good. But I felt like I needed to compensate so I danced around to the radio for awhile after my regular workout to burn a few more cals. :) It was actually really fun, 'cause the kids were home from school (snow day) and it was all Christmas music. We love Christmas around here, so it was super great to have that time with them.

Bette k 12-10-2009 12:23 PM

Hi Red Team,
Sorry I haven't been around and missed the last weigh in, but for some reason this site is very slow in loading on my computer. I don't know why it's been this way, but after it was down that time I can hardly get on and if I can get it to come up then it takes 15 minutes or more to load a page.
Todayis the 3rd day of being snowed in, from Tuesday to wednesday we got over 12 inches of snow and high winds, School has been canceled for 3 days, I don't think DD is going to want to go back, it's been a mini vacation for her.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Have a great week and I'll try to get on again soon
Bette K

Luckybustert 12-10-2009 08:57 PM

Hi everyone! Sorry to hear some of you have been sick, and hoping you are feeling much better very soon.

I haven't been able to be as active in the threads as I'd like during this challenge, but I knew that was going to be the case due to work commitments and despite that I'm really happy with my progress during this challenge. A loss of 20.2 lbs or 8.99% is wonderful in my opinion, and I'm feeling really good about it. If I keep this up, eventually I will reach my goal :)

I've signed up for the next challenge, but I'm a little confused about how it's going to work. It sounded like there's specific workouts we'll be required to do? If so, I'm a little worried about that. What if a person has some physical limitations? There's an instructor at the gym I go to who expects everyone to go full tilt like she does regardless of their fitness level - VERY UNSAFE. The best instructors have always shown safe modifications to the exercise for those who are not yet in the best of physical condition. Oh, well that's just my opinion...FWIW.

I can't believe the holidays are upon us. I am soooo not ready! Not too worried about staying on plan - that part seems to be going quite well for me at the moment. Wishing everyone on the Red team a warm, happy, healthy holiday season!

Luckybustert 12-10-2009 08:59 PM

Oh yeah, one more thing I wanted to ask about....I just ordered the Rockin' Body and the Hip Hop Abs dvd's off of eBay. Have any of you ever used these? If so, what do you think about them? They look like they'll be fun!

Cape Breton Chick 12-10-2009 09:25 PM

No Lucky, no one will be required to do anything. We are having a basic formula to the challenges(those are for who wants to participate) which is 3x cardio, 2x strength, 1 ab focus day per week, all of your choosing,, what you would normally do in those areas, and then we will add a team specific one like jumping jacks, or lunges or something of the sort.. but nothing is required, we are making it a competition between both teams to encourage teams to participate n be there for one another but no we are not saying anyone has to do anything exercise wise that they are incapable of doing.
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/bigg...ease-read.html
that is the link i posted earlier in the week with all of the new info. Hope this clarifies things for you.. if you have any further questions, please jot them down in the QnA thread and Monte or myself will be sure to answer them to the best of our ability! :)

Oh no, it won't be quite like that. Basically what we are going to do is have guidelines (Building Blocks) for you to use as a basis. Take a look at the challenge for this last week as an example. We have 2 days of cardio, 3 of weight training, 1 of ab focus, and 1 rest day. What exercises you do to complete these Building Blocks will be entirely up to you, as will the amount of time you spend on it. Now the boost challenges will be specific things, but they are extra credit, so if you can't do the exact exercise for the boost, feel free to do a modified version or whatever you feel comfortable with.

ETA - I see now that Angela has already answered this......I should probably read the whole thread before responding! :D

MonteCristo 12-11-2009 08:20 AM

Happy Friday! Who is ready for the weekend???

I was hoping that I would be able to get out of the 160s by the start of the new challenge, but I beginning to think that is a lost cause. With all the snacks, parties, meals and stuff that is going on the next 2-3 weeks, I'll be lucky not to gain weight. TOM hit me with a vengeance this time, packing on 6.6lbs (yes, you read that right). I feel like an overfilled balloon. :( But I will be back down before the weighin, even if I have to chop of an arm to get there (lol).

Ms Perception 12-11-2009 11:53 AM

Monte-I'm ready for the weekend, but I know it's the start of the yummy family get-togethers. So, I hear ya about not knowing if you'll come out of it with a gain.

These weekends are always tough on the weight loss, but it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The weight will come right back off as long as I eat right for the other 90% of the time, ya know? I can't wait to get on the road. I love these holiday weekends with family!!

shan84 12-11-2009 12:49 PM

I was looking forward to this weekend before getting so sick. Now I'm stuck at home and going crazy from boredom. My fever finally broke today but the coughing is much worse. Feel like my insides are falling apart. On the plus side, I think I'll pull a decent number for the last week of this challenge. Haha. Have to find a positive somewhere in this mess!

KimL1214 12-11-2009 02:52 PM

Rough week... Big time storm, trapped at house for two days = overeating and staying under the covers as I was FREEZING (no electricity, no heat = brrrrr)... hoping for a better weekend!

IgetfitNStrongforme 12-11-2009 03:16 PM

KimL1214: It's been cold here too not like where you are but raining and cold. We aren't made for 30 degree nights, my heater was freaking out.

Ms Perception: Yes I had to tone down the work out while I am doing this. Just the minimal I can do to do the challenge.

Shan84: Swine Flu yikes!! I hope you feel better soon and I'm sorry about Japan. :(

Antonia: Try the dandalion tea mixture, I swear by it as I am the queen TOM water weight gain.

Angela: I am ready to have my butt kicked! Let's get this challenge started!

Today:
I am just resting and staying dry, it's raining cats and dogs. I am also torturing myself by watching cooking shows! LOL I love watching old movies and cooking shows on rainy days.

shan84 12-13-2009 06:44 PM

Hey everyone. Hope you all finish this weekend strong. I just posted my weight loss for this week. Down 6lbs. Which is good, because I actually took a freebie last week cause I had gained 6lbs, so with this swine flu this week I actually dropped 12lbs (so not a healthy thing to do). But, I'm almost finished with my medication and I go back to see the doctor this morning to get a check up. I know the fever is gone, but the coughing has still been hanging around. Talk to you all again soon.

Thanks for the info, makes sense and I'm glad to hear we can do modified versions of the exercises.
