  • oh i forgot to mention, i did a few mini workouts last night while watching BL (normally i sit on the couch with a snack - lately its been grapes or apples instead of junk., yeah me) but last night, after my dinner - and snack (had grapes) i did a couple workouts on the ball (arm curls and crunches with 5# dumbbells and 30 jumping jacks). gonna do a few different lil workouts like that tonight while watching tv. i have tons of Dr Phil and Oprah to watch off the dvr. lol
  • Mommyofsix - try the Italian recipe for cheesecake. I heard it has ricotta cheese, which is low cal compared to the sour cream? used. I love cheesecake. I wish Costco had a calendar of their cheesecake sample days. I would be there front and center on those days.

IGetFit - yeah I'm hoping it's just water weight. It's fluctuating between 155 and 156. I did see 154.8 after my walk but that's just sweat loss. Blah. I'm taking it slow and steady and seeing where that gets me.

Angela - congrats on being runner-up!! Hope you feel better, hun.

I'm also really worried about the upcoming holidays. I'm going home for T-giving and New Year's, both of which are food fests at my house. My biggest concern is my surprising sweet tooth. I never had a sweet tooth and now I do. It's probably from my husband, the (skinny) bum. He has a major sweet tooth and he asks me to make cakes and banana breads occasionally, which never bothered me before but now I find myself snacking on extra pieces. I haven't made anything sweet in at least a week so I'm doing well, but I really need to figure out what the heck is going on with me that I need the sugar so badly...

Exercise-wise I'm actually on a roll right now! I go without prodding or making a deal with myself because I really like what I'm doing (walking). There's no pressure and I can do it by myself in case Mr. Sunni isn't feeling like exercising. I make it a personal challenge to find ways of increasing my distance and shortening my time.

Good job to everyone who's losing and to all who are trying to lose!! Let's do it together!!
  • Angela-Wow! Feel better soon. You're in my prayers! Take good care of yourself and get rest if you can.

I had such a nice day and in case I'm not shouting the size 8's from the rroftops, my mom is doing the trick....she was telling the people at the hair salon and then when my aunt called she told her...holy cow! I'm like, "Mom, they don't care!" She insists that people do care because they find it inspiring to hear that someone can do it without drugs, surgery, etc.

WARNING: NSV story ahead! So, I was trying on pants today at Goodwill (8's YAY!) and I tried on one pair that I liked, but they were a little tight, but still pretty cute. I was bummed, but thought about buying them for when I tone up a bit more. Anyway, I was checking them out, looking to make sure they were in good condition--no rips, stains, etc-- and I saw some stitching on the waistband label that said 6A (the Goodwill tag said 8, which is why I had grabbed them). I thought "Oh my gosh! Are these 6's?" So I looked at the inside label and they were!!!! I put them back and thought, "I can't buy 6's. That crazy!" Well, my mom said I should definitely get them since I'm so close to fitting them nicely and just to say I can wear a 6! So, it was more than a little unbelievable. I mean I literally cannot make it make sense in my mind that I might be able to wear that size. I've never been able to before (as an adult), ya know? I definitely am NOT a 6 yet, but this pair happened to almost fit nicely. So, that's my story. Now, if I could just wrap my mind around it....
  • Ladies, I'm having a hard week to say the least. Work is more than stressful and I'm not following my plan very well. I'm thinking of going to WW's tonight and joining back up. We'll see though. I haven't done a bit of exercise at all this week. I need to remember to start off easy and then work myself up instead of just jumping off the deep in. Well I must run for now. Back to work.
  • Ladybug- I hope things improve for you. Ya know, if you have the time and all, maybe WW is a good idea. It never hurts to have extra support! Take good care of yourself! You're SO worth it!!

It's another day in the life here...2 kids home from school sick with fevers, but I'm just letting them veg in front of the TV which is a special treat around here. My day has been wonderful (got in my exercise, good food choices, water and vitamin) and it should continue to be so. I get to go on a Ladies Night Out tonight which is cool since I'm still trying to make friends over here. I'm SO glad I got invited! It's sorta challenging in a small town to make good friends when you're not from around here. Anyway, here's to good days for all!
  • Hi all, just wanted to check in. I don't have any time to read and be active on the boards, between working 30 hours a week and going to school full time, but just knowing im part of this team competition is keeping me accountable!

I haven't had much success in the past few months, so this is a really great challenge. congrats to everyone else who is doing well and working hard, keep it up!
  • Hi! Sorry I've not been very supportive, but this is our "close" week, so I've been pretty busy. Our auditors are coming the week after next, so things are a little hectic!

Angela (Cape Brenton Chick) - I hope your doctor gets everything figured out an you get on the road to recovery! Take care of yourself.

MrsVegan - I don't think I could handle a swing shift. I consider that anytime when it is dark belongs soley to me, and God help the person that tries to usurp it!

KimL - Yes, I did get in my workout 3 actually. I've been working on getting back into running (last year I was up to 3 miles), so I went out and ran intervals around my neighborhood (1.75 min run / 1.75 mins walk) for about 40(counting warmup and cool down) after dinner. Then once Dad and I dropped the kids back off at mom's we went for a 50 minute walk. Then I still had to do my ab exercises.........so I think I did pretty good!

JasonsLea - I hear you on the morning person thing. I would rather not be acquainted with 6am.

Mandey - 70 would be nice. It has been about 55-60 here for the past week. Plus it has rained about 27.5 of the last 30 days. The cotton and soy bean farmers are in a panic!

Shan - Wow! 2 hours with a personal trainer? You are going to have a great workout!

IGetFitNStrongforme - It isn't as bad as it seems. My family got rid of our tv when I was 7, so I'm pretty use to it by now. You wouldn't believe how many books I've read...........now I have a TV with VCR/DVD, and a hookup to the internet, but no cable or dish or whatever they are called now. So I still watch stuff.

SunniGummi - Maybe you can chew on gum, or eat lots of sugar free breath mints to keep you from snacking too much. And remember to drink lots of water! Maybe wear something really fitted. The less room you have for food the better!

    MsPerception
    - Congrats on the awesome NSV!

Ladybug - Yep, slow and stead will always beat crash and burn!

    nbrown
    - Keep up the good work! You might not have seen as much progress as you would like, but I'm sure you are better off than you were a couple months ago. Slow and steady!!
  • Monte: I wasn't allowed to watch much TV growing up but I can't imagine not having it at all. I read a few books a months but I need my fix of ANTM! Dang it, I throw donuts at the tv when I see those skinny girls complain about their bodies! LOL

I had the worst food day yesterday I eat everything and anything that wasn't nailed down! But today I am back on the wagon with my bloated belly! LOL Tip for the day - never mix french fries with gravey and then eat 3 jelly donuts you will become sick!

Ms Preception: Size 6!!! Do I need to throw donuts at you, because I better not hear you complain at all!!!! Size 6!!!!!
  • Hello friends,

Well I am down with the flu and can't do anything. Even being on the computer tires me out after about 20-30 min. So no work, no excerising. My burn has been about 1775 each day.....

However, I'm losing with no problem at all. My wiegh in is Saturday and I will probably post a lb loss. This is really good for me because I'm so close to goal.

I find it really interesting that the weeks where I am really active and have a 750-1000 deficit per day I might lose NOTHING, but when I'm stuck on my butt.....I lose. My body just doesn't make any sense to me....
  • Monte (Antonia): How many weigh-ins has the red team won?
  • well I didn't get to walk up to the school to get my daughter, after my son's tumbling class we went to the commissary for a few things and by the time we got home he was asleep - so i dropped off the food and we drove to school. and checked the mail on the way....we finally got our package from hubby!! so i have my HRM back so i'm ready for a great workout and the kids' books and the SD card. I bought the kids a book each and mailed it to him (they think daddy bought the books at the px in iraq - but there's no kid books there, but they love the thought, so we're letting them think that). He made 2 videos of him reading the books - Alex got his own book and video, and Abigail got her own book and video. So they took turns sitting in my lap while we watched each video of daddy reading the story to each of them. they're so excited and it was nice to see/hear his voice again since we rarely talk on the phone. and he was smiling and happy and laughing so it was more like the Brian we know and love. the other video he did at the airport after R&R was hard on him, it was his first tiem reading books on video to the kids - and he'd just left after spending 2 weeks at home with them - so he choked up a bit while reading (which was hard to watch, since he never shows that emotion to us, but also make him more human in my eyes - the kids didnt notice cuz they were reading their books - but to me to see him show an emotion made me feel like me and the kids are not the only ones who has trouble with him leaving).
so it's been a good day so far, except i need to get my workouts done - now with my HRM i feel empowered to get out there and get a lot done and we got to 'see' hubby, so i'm thrilled hehehe

sorry didnt mean to get long winded, i was just excited to get our package and see and hear hubby's voice again, haven't heard his voice since R&R in August.

Let me see what I can find.......when people get eliminated from the challenge it changes the worksheet, so I can't just look back and see what our score was. I'll need to find the original posts. Shouldn't take me too long.......

Yippy! And week 4 is the one we are letting it lay.

  • Quote: Yippy! And week 4 is the one we are letting it lay.

We really are doing great. Blue Team's over all weight loss percentage for the entire challenge is a quite fantastic 3.5%, but we've lost 3.75%!! And in looking over the overall results I've found something that I've just got to bring to the teams attention. Jessicado22 is currently our overall biggest loser. She has lost 33lbs, 12.27% of her starting weight! You go girl!!!!
  • Well I must say that I feel like I am letting the red team down. Last competition I lost consistantly and since I made it under 199 I have just not been able to loose as easily. I really am going to step it up the next few weeks.
