Practice-So glad everything went well. Congrats!!! Many happy wishes for a long life together. I will be celebrating 22 years of marriage on Nov. 7. Marriage can be such a wonderful thing if you go in expecting it to have its ups and downs and believing the ups will be better than the downs! Maybe try some consignment/thrift shops to find cheap clothes that fit.

Happening-LMAO! funny story thank God no one knew the real reason for all the fish!

Hi to everyone else!!

Besides you and Echo having alot in common today:D, Hope you feel better:hug:

Well after a few stroked I straight up vomited straight down underwater, it was disgusting. And next thing you know... fish Swarmed all around me to eat it up! Then everyone else snorkeling around me saw the swarm and got really excited "look, something's happening over there! The fish are all around her, let's go over! Awesome!" and they all came around my area to touch/see the fish. Not my best moment, and no way did I tell anyone what I did to get those fish around me (but my bf thought it was hilarious)

I'm glad you had a nice surprise! And I'm sorry, because this was the funniest thing I have read/heard in the longest time. I can't imagine how you felt at that moment, I would have been mortified, but in retrospect, it's going to be one of those stories you tell forever.

Ok, now down to business - You work it girl!! Fishnets and boy shorts here you come!! I know you'll look great!

Nixmom 10-20-2009 11:23 PM

practiceliving - :carrot::carrot::carrot: Yay for being a Mrs. :carrot::carrot::carrot: Sounds like you got a well deserved celebration! We are talking about getting married in June 2010 and I want it to be like that. Family, friends and fun! God bless your marriage! You deserve a fantastic life!

LeslieB- nice work on cutting the meds! What an NSV!!! And scuba diving! I have often thought about looking into taking lessons. We are river junkies and I hear there are some good finds after big weekends at Lake Havasu! I am just petrified I may end up feeding the fish like HAPPENING! lol!

Maryshady - sister, sister - heres to a speedy recovery. Nothing like be gained up on by your on body. Take good care of yourself, and fuel your body right, you will be back to good in no time! Our bodies know when its time to rest!

I completed my 2nd night with crazy instructor woman at bootcamp. I swear she has got to be the closest thing to Jillian without actually being on the show. Standing on my quads while I'm doing wall squats. Smacking my booty when its sticking up during my pushups. 20 more of whatever if anyone drops their arms, weights, legs. SHEESH. And I'm the less than strong newbie (the only one by the way) feeling like I am just learning to walk. But the results on the scale have been great and I put on pants today that I haven't worn in 6 months. Times they are a changing in my house ladies!

Off to watch TBL!

Wow, I need to visit more often, I'm way behind in my reading.

Sorry so many have struggled this week, I know this time of year is so hard to stay OP, but we all can do this, just one day at a time.

Practice-Congrats, enjoy wedded bliss, and welcome back :carrot:

Leslie-:carrot: :D:carrot: Here's to no more Medication

happeningf-Wow!! Maui, so wonderful, not so much the suba diving, but hope the rest of the trip make up for that.

Mary-Hope you feel better, not much you can do when the back is in pain, everything hurts, and you can never get comforable. Just try to take it easy, and keep moving as best you can.

Nixmom-Wow that sounds like quite the workout, I know at my work they have a bootcamp starting up, and it's being taught by an army sergent. I would sign up, but it's during my work hrs, don't have that many vacation days left, but it sounds like it's a butt kicking workout.

retiredone-Apples are so delicious, nothing like a crisp sweet apple, and homemade apple pie is Yumm-O

bigsexy-I totally agree, and now it's getting cold so can't put it off, I must also go through my "Winter Stash", the only good thing about it is, I plan to just get rid of my bigger summer clothes, no plans to ever fit into any of it again. So that means a shopping trip is in my near future, since all the summer stuff is on sale right now. ;)

dixied-I know I only have one pair of those workout pants with that cute little pocket for my ipod, and they are bright orange, I love them! Good luck on your quest, for yours!

Hi to everyone that I missed-hope this week is a better week for all, sickness and struggles will be gone.

****************
Well I just finished my first week of CLX {ChaLean Extreme} Wow, I'm so sore, but in a very good way, not pain sore, it's just letting me know how much I need to weight lift. Which by the way is what I needed, I have no upper arm strength, know that by how hard those planks and pushups are on me.

Need to get my act in gear, have a dentist appt :(, and need to get moving
have a great day.

Nella 10-21-2009 09:48 AM

Nixmom - Wow! that does sound like Jillian!! Sounds awesome though, and you're right, the scale is telling you it is working!

Mary - I hope you feel better soon!

Practice - Great quote!

Hope you chickies are having a great week! I am proudly wearing my "test" jeans today!!! These are the jeans I tried on once a week to check my progress because they have zero stretch to them. When I began this they wouldn't go over my hips, now they fit and button comfortably, close fitting around my legs, but loose in the waist (I have large hips/thighs in proportion to my waist, so I get that annoying gap in the back). Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped.

retiredone 10-21-2009 10:33 AM

Happening, that fish story was so grossly funny. Poor you. Glad you escaped without undue humiliation.

Mary, hope you're feeling much better today.

Nella, WTG with the test jeans. That's awesome.

Nixmom
, sounds like brutal workout was survived by you. Congratulations on fitting in those pants again. Nothing like a NSV to brighten up the day.

Practice, thanks for the quote. Very inspiring.

Institches
, sounds like you're doing great with your exercise program, too. Have a great time at the dentist.

It's cold here again today. It's even cold in the house. I'm wearing a scarf around my neck that I had on while walking. I lit the wood furnace a while ago but it hasn't warmed up yet. By lunch it will be so hot I'll be ready to walk around naked. Although it was cold it wasn't windy this morning and when I walked by the bay the water was as calm as a mirror. There were 3 pair of loons floating and ducking and calling to each other and one lone seagull. I stopped and watched longer than I usually do because it was so peaceful this morning.

I'm home alone most of the day as DH has a bus driver's inservice with the school board today. School's out for the next 2 days for a district wide inservice for all teachers and school board employees. So no time constraints on me today to get dinner on the table by 12:15 pm. DH won't be home until 4 or 4:30. We'll have dinner tonight instead of our usual lunch time.

Must go and put another dish away. I'm slowly emptying the dishwasher. http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/i...ilies/grin.gif Catch you all later.

happeningf 10-21-2009 12:22 PM

gosh, where you live sounds so beautiful!

Narnia99 10-21-2009 04:46 PM

Hi everyone, I've been struggling to stay on plan lately, but so far I have. I don't normally have a hard time with my TOM, but for some reason this one is wiping me out. Anyway, I am glad that I didn't give in to comfort eating as the extra two pounds that appeared for Monday's weigh-in are now gone.

Marianne - Welcome back. Congratulations on your wedding. Glad that your day was perfect and that you had a wonderful honeymoon!

Happening - Maui - what a nice surprise!

Mary - I hope you are feeling better

LeslieB - That is awesome that you are able to cut your meds. Congratulations!

Nixmom - Wow, your bootcamp instructor sounds intense! Good for you for making it through the classes. Congratulations on your pants that is fantastic!

Institches - How are you liking CLX? I've had my eye on it for awhile so would love to hear what you think of the program so far.

Retire - Sounds like the perfect walk.

Nella - Congratulations on the test pants, that is awesome!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

mara11jade 10-22-2009 12:01 AM

Just sorta an update / checking in - I have finally gotten FULLY back to my work outs, at least doing 500 calories a day for the past 4 days!!!

Hopefully I'll pull some weight loss this week for the team!!

Institches21 10-22-2009 01:30 AM

retiredone-your walk sounds wonderful, I love the crisp fall air, but too sad that it's followed by that howling face biting wind, and dreaded icy snow!! So enjoy Canada it's, always been a wonderful place to visit in the summer, but your winters are harsh!!

Nixmom-those sweat feasts are working for you, enjoy those new jeans

Nella-Yay for Test Jeans, I also have the same problem, a bit of a gap in back, but loose in front.

Narnia99-I do Love this program, you lift heavy but fewer reps, and she goes through it step by step, and just like her TurboJam, you have the choice to go a bit slower and use, no weights, instead you use a resistence band. I actually am dripping sweat, almost from the begining, it is very intense, and lasts about 40mins. Any other questions just ask.

****
not much new around here today, so I guess I will say good night, hope you all have a great Thursday!!

Dont worry - i also gained a pound from last week. lets just kick it this week so we have a greater loss this week!! we can be partners in crime hehe :cb: :broc: :carrot:
Besides Diva, you had so much on your plate and you were sick and TOM!! its to be expected. its not a real gain! you will be able to shed it in no time. besides when your sick best not to exercise and let your body rest so it can heal itself.
[/size][/B]

Isabella:
I think the name Isabella is beautiful too and I was going to name my daughter if I ever had one, which I didn'y. Just mean ole'boys *sigh*
Echo:
I hope you are enjoying your book. I'm not a big Jillian fan but I may get that or check it out from the Library if y'all have rave reviews.

I've had a stressful THREE weeks now. First the Swine, then I get sick, then TOM, and this week my teenaged son has decided to be some mean person that I don't know. He had me crying my eyes out before 7 a.m. 3 days in a row. On Monday, I was all dressed and ready for the GYM got half way there when some sort of infraction of the passenger side wheel happened on my car so now I am without a ride until we can afford to fix this, which is NO freakin' telling when that'll happen. So it's been another BAD week. I HATE being a prisoner in my own home and not being able to get to the GYM! I have ZERO motivation to work out at home. NONE,NADA, zilch! So there's been no exercise, there's been NO eating right, but there also hasn't been much of that going on anyways because I've been depressed too, there HAS been alcohol consumption, which I hardly ever do and somehow I've managed to lose what I gained. :dunno: So I guess that's something. Anyhoo, when the boy got home least night, I had enuff of his crap and reminded him just who is the adult, and who is the kid and just how miserable I can make his life, and that's exactly what I've done until my child returns...the nice and funny one. I felt better after that. Teenagers are so hard! I'll be glad when this kid graduates, moves out and sees for himself just how hard life is and then maybe he'll see that we have done the best we can. As poor as we are, we've somehow managed to spoil him...Go figure....

I appreciate that the Dare thing was extended but I have not partook in it once again. I am going to deep clean this house today and I am prolly going to use both Dare weeks to exercise tomorrow and use Jesse's car to hit the GYM on Sat. I need to move this body!

It was EXTREMELY scary at first because I am not an "open water" person that was the scariest part, but I got used to it and as long as he was holding my hand I was fine. I don't know if I could ever dive! I tend to panic and pant easily when scared.

I do also get VERY sea sick and in that crazy boat ride to Molokini crater 3 miles off the island I was extremely queasy. I didn't even want to get off the boat but sitting in it rocking was worse. So we jumped off with our snorkels, and we were told that we cannot feed the fish/animals/birds on the crater nor touch anything because it's a protected reserve.

Anyhoo, nuff of my babbling. I can't wait for this week to be over.

{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} to everyone! Miss feeling like I am actually a part of this team.

Nella 10-22-2009 09:23 AM

Diva - Sounds like you are having a rough go at things. Teenagers are evil sometimes. At least yours are boys, I have two teenage girls in my house 5 days a week (add on top of that that I am the stepmom - joy of joys sometimes). Girls are little balls of emotion just waiting to explode at any given second for no reason. The car thing sucks, and I know what you mean about motivation to workout at home. I was doing good for a while, but haven't worked out in a week and a half. Since it got cold here, I can't bring myself to go walking and the JM's aren't screaming at me to get moving, so I haven't. I'm determined to get back at it tonight though.

Things in our house are hectic to say the least. We've had sort of a bomb dropped on us regarding the kids and their "mother" deciding she all of a sudden wants to have more custody of them, after giving it up (funny how it coincides with her CS about to go down to next to nothing. I'm just sayin'...) so DH and I have to figure this one out and scrape our pennies together to find an attorney. Anyone know how to make money appear out of thin air? If you do, start spilling!

On the weight loss front, things are good. I was bad though and devoured some cake yesterday for SD's birthday. I also sampled the frosting jar a few times... Who knew frosting has 130 calories in 2 tbsp??? If I had read the jar before sampling, I would have only sampled once, and probably ate less cake. But the scale was down this morning to 173.0, so maybe I didn't do so much harm. But I was bad and slapped myself on the wrist this morning and vowed to not do it again.

So...3 pounds from my first mini-goal!! I am thrilled! :carrot::carrot::carrot: I weigh less now than I did at my wedding. I'm going to have to go shopping soon for jeans because the ones I pulled out 2 weeks ago, are a bit loose on me. I'll have to try seriously shrinking them in the dryer.

Hope everyone has a fantabulous day!!!!!!

Diva 10-22-2009 09:42 AM

Wooohoooo Nella! WTG! That's awesome! :cb::cp::dancer::flow1:
I wish my jeans fit loose! LOL! One day.....;)

retiredone 10-22-2009 10:30 AM

Howdy gals. Good to see you back Diva. I had 2 boys but they weren't too much trouble except when the youngest one decided to leave home (without notice) at 18 and finish high school in another province. Thank God he was staying with good friends of the family. Both boys are married now and all is well.

For those of you that commented on my lovely walk and where I live: Yes, the walk is really nice. I live in a seaport town and can see water from my home as well as for most of my walk. Today there was only 1 loon, a flock of pigeons and 1 young seagull down by the bay. The wind was up a bit so the water wasn't very calm. The winter is toooooo longggggggggg, though, hahaha, unless you're a snowmobiler. Winter sports are big here in Eastern Canada with downhill and cross country skiing, hockey, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, tobogganing and sliding, and other stuff too. I was actually thinking about taking up cross country skiing this winter if I can find some gear that doesn't cost an arm and leg.

Nella, that's so great about the jeans. I'm waiting for mine to get lose again. They were just getting to the point where I was thinking I'd get down to the next size when I put on a few more pounds over the summer. :( But I can fit into them again so that's even good.

Mara, 500 calories burned a day in exercise is fabulous. You're going to see results.

I'm going to do some tiding up here today. DS's bedroom is in upheaval since he left home when he got married. The room has become a catch-all for everything and today is the day I'm going to tidy that room up. DH wants to paint it so he'll be pleased to see a dent in the mess. :D
