Red Team Week 4 Chat Thread
Here's a new thread for everyone. Hope you all are having a good week thus far.
|
Good Tuesday to you all!!!
WishI would have had more of a loss this week, but I have been somewhat off plan, not exercised enough and TOM hit hard Sunday night. Well I sure am full of excuses today. Anyway enough with that. My plan this week is to start walking again and get back to jogging and to not eat anymore chocolate. This summer I was so on plan and since it has cooled off I have just lost my way. I need to get back on track ASAP. I can not stop now!!! |
Mommyofsix-Funny how the cold weather or change in weather makes us want to turn to comfort foods and laziness, huh? I have been fighting the same things!
Glad to get on with this week. I'm trying to tweak my food to accomodate some new info on what works for me. It's a bit of a challenge, but it certainly does have me really examining my food lately which is probably a really good thing! |
Wow, is it week 4 already!? Things are going well - my exercise tends to all be outside - I prefer to walk and jog on every day that I possibly can. The weather has been great for it, but sunset at 7:10 is starting to be a bummer. The time change is coming soon and I may have to join a gym soon just so I can at least hit the treadmill on the days when I can't get outside.
Had TOM last week, but since having an ablation back in May it's almost non-existent and doesn't seem to wreak near as much havoc on the scale as it used to. Yay! Would *highly* recommend it for anyone with heavy or long cycles, provided you are done having kiddoes. It's the best thing I have done for myself, maybe ever. :) Had my first NSV this morning. Am wearing an outfit today that I bought just two months ago. At the time it really was a snug fit and I was a little self conscious in it. I'm wearing it today it feels like a great fit now. Looking forward to it moving over into the "too big" category, but for now, I am enjoying that I feel good in it. Hope everyone has a successful, on program week! |
tinabinab - :carrot: for good fitting outfits, that is always an awesome feeling!! NSV, especially clothes ones always make me very happy :)
I had an awful day at work yesterday, but I didn't cheat...and I really wanted to, so I feel pretty good about that. Didn't get any exercise in, but am planning to this evening while I'm watching biggest loser :) |
I'm looking forward to the show tonight. I just need another boost of positive weight loss inspiration. I've been POP and feel good, just all the rain and cold here makes me want to snuggle in bed all day!
|
IgetfitNStrongforme~ Wow! You must have really needed the sleep! I don’t know about being the Biggest Loser, thank you though!
Bette k~ Have a great week also! Cape Breton Chick~ Congrats on 0.4lbs!!! Mommyofsix~ No stopping, less chocolate, more moving, you can totally get back on track!!! Ms Perception~ Is everything okay? I’m psyched for the TBL show tonight too!!! tinabinab~ Congratulations on your NSV!!! I can’t wait to start fitting in smaller clothes! shea5~ Great job staying on track!!! So we hiked into the woods again today and I noticed that I really trekked right in and didn’t have any issues with feeling tired. There was a lot of jumping and wandering through random tree branches in attempt to avoid the mud. I admit that I used last night as my cheat night (since I do both my weigh in for here in the AM and official WW weigh in on Monday), where I just kind of eat whatever I’ve been craving for the past week, but it appears that this may be the last week where I can! YAY! I am actually happy about this as our weigh in at work for our work TBL challenge is now Tuesday mornings. School is structured enough so that if I can make it through Tuesday day, then I should be okay by Tuesday night. Rambling, yes, good day so far, so I’m psyched! I just need to keep the momentum going through work tonight!!! |
I can get back on track you ladies are so right!!! I am excited about the show tonight too. It always inspires me to try harder.
|
Amy - you can do this. I know you can. Look at what you've accomplished so far!!
Kim - I'd love to go hiking. Sounds like fun. So glad you're in the right frame of mind to knock it out of the park this week. Congrats on the NSV tinainab. And congrats on the losses to all of my team. You all inspire me. I may not be on here as much as I'd like but when I do lurk and check in I always read what all you've written and take it to heart. Be back later. |
Kiml1214: I wish I lived near a forest II could hike in, it sounds like heaven. Where I live there is just lots of concrete and buildings........
I am just relaxing now that I have had lunch. I had a great morning volunteering and tomorrow I have the exercise group with my ladies, we had so much fun last week, I am sure tomorrow will be just as much fun. I can't wait for TBL tonight; I want to see what happens with Tracey. I feel very badly for Coach Mo because he seems to be a man of honor but is so tore by trying to be a supportive team mate to clearly an unstable woman. I don't think Jillian should have dressed him down at the weigh in that was very wrong. Both Bob and Jillian should have pulled him a side for a private talk. Coach Mo is just caught in the middle, and it's not fair. |
Well ladies--finally got my old PC out of torage o I can get online without having to use the tiny screen on my ipod until my laptop get fixed. Good news i that my horrible neverending period finally did end (after 3 weeks of torture!) I should have a good loss this week to help our team this week...after that I am not sure if TOM is going to come back a it is due, or if it will leave me alone to make up for it's lovely 3 week visit. I am hoping for the latter! Well, hope everyone is doing good and the scale i treating you nicely!
|
Hey gals, results are into dixie now so should be up soon!
|
Down 5lb on my week 4 weigh in.:D:carrot::carrot:
Nicki ps I know I don't chat a lot but I'm 100% committed to the Red Team. |
Motivation is challenging as the weather gets cooler. I felt I was getting ready to hibernate this past weekend and am fighting the feeling again today where our high temp will be ~35 f, brrrrr.
The good thing is the dog always needs a walk no matter what the weather is like and he won't take no for an answer! We're heading out of town for Cdn Thanksgiving. I'll work hard at staying OP though it's tough avoiding crap food while on the road. Have a great week ladies! |
KimL-Yep, I'm feeling good! We just had a few days where the sun was not shining, it was rainy and I just REALLY wanted to snuggle up and read a book and do NOTHING else. I did eat OP and get my exercise in, so I handled it well. Today should be a little nicer, but then we're supposed to get more rain for the rest of the week. That plus the colder temps, have me wanting to hibernate, like CanadaMel! Heehee
Nicki-Way to stay committed and have such a nice weigh-in! Igetfit-I also like Coach Mo. So glad he can stay. Tracy, on the other hand....my DH just keeps saying "She is SO unstable!" the whole show. LOL It cracks me up that you used those same words. They really sum it up though. I, too, wish I had some place a little closer to hike around here. When we move, we'll be closer to a state park with some nice hiking trails which I fully intend to take advantage of next spring-fall. All is well here. My new running program is challenging me with some new drills which I feel good about. I'm a runner now, I might as well become a better one, eh? Food has been OP and the scale is cooperating little by little. I'll definitely take it, though. I often struggle mid-month with cravings (giving in to them, that is) and TOM stuff, but I want to make this month different...See if I can't stay more consistant and see decent losses every week. I used to not struggle with cravings so much the first 6-8 months or so of my healthier diet, so I'm not sure why it seems harder now. Maybe it's my mindset, getting closer to goal and thinking I "deserve" stuff more or what?! Anyway, I'm clearly still a work in progress! |
IgetfitNStrongforme~ You should see where I live… we live in the middle of a national forest and have seen more wildlife there in the past few weeks then in the last year. I also feel really bad for Coach Mo also and I have to say my dislike for Tracy really increased last night as she is either really that stupid, or really is messing with people. Either way, not a fan of her AT ALL.
jessicado22~ Did you go to the doctors or anything to find out what was causing it? Nicki54~ Congrats on 5 lbs!!! CanadaMel~ Good luck staying OP! Ms Perception~ The rain has really been hammering us as well. Today was a little ridiculous as far as weather was concerned as we were right on the lake shore and the rain and wind were 35+ MPH and the rain was horizontal. The kids didn’t want to stay and I really didn’t want to stay either. I’m really tired right now but have a doctors appointment so I can’t just go home and nap… |
I agree with all of you I feel so bad for coach Mo. He looks so put off when Tracy speaks. That first episode when she got hurt. I felt so bad for her, but now, I think Jillian wants to smack her in the face when she gets that look and how does she continue to loose all that weight????
Canada Mel- Happy Thanksgiving to you and the rest of the red team that lives in CAnada!!! KimL- I assume it has to be the same weather pattern but this morning I thought the rain was going to break through our bed room window, it was raing so hard and sideways it was not a pleasant experience. I will say it is beautiful here now at about 3pm so maybe that is coming your way too. Igetfit- I live at the foothills of the smokey mountains in Tennessee. There are so many great trails I love to hike just do not get to the mountains enough!!! Hope everyone is doing well and staying on plan. Lets keep loosing Red Team!!!!! |

Tracey damaged her muscles from extreme exhaustion during the first chanllenge. One of the things she has is called Rhabdomyolysis it is the breakdown of muscle fibers resulting in the release of muscle fiber contents (myoglobin) into the bloodstream. Some of these are harmful to the kidney and frequently result in kidney damage. Causes When muscle is damaged, a protein pigment called myoglobin is released into the bloodstream and filtered out of the body by the kidneys. Myoglobin breaks down into potentially harmful compounds. It may block the structures of the kidney, causing damage such as acute tubular necrosis or kidney failure. Dead muscle tissue may cause a large amount of fluid to move from the blood into the muscle, reducing the fluid volume of the body and leading to shock and reduced blood flow to the kidneys. The disorder may be caused by any condition that results in damage to skeletal muscle, especially trauma. It's very dangerous, CPK levels being so high means her body is still eating its own muscles which I believe makes them worry she could have a heart attack or kidney failure. |
hi!
i ran tonight, 1 and 3/4 miles. i was going for 3, but then i just lost steam. i don't think i had eaten enough before hand. i tried to look online for nutrition for runners, but i haven't found anything good yet. i need to be on this though, i have my first race next sunday! |
Hey Ladies!!! I hope everyone is having a great week so far... I want to say so sorry that I am not as "on the ball" with personals as I wish I was... but I want you all to know I read them all and think of you all! I am going to try to be better with getting the personals in. :grouphug:
I am happy to report that I saw another dip on the scale this morning so it pushed me even harder to get in my workouts today... I feel great this week.. strong and confident in success.. I love those weeks!! haha Will check back in tomorrow.. g'night everyone! |
 girls!
Sorry I've been MIA. I started a second job on Monday so I've been kinda wiped out. I like it alot but I'm afraid that I might lose it. :( Got to get up at 6am so I've gotta go! :grouphug: |
Good Thursady morning to you all!! Hope everyone is doing well and eating right. I have not been to off this week. Just need to continue to get in my veggies. I am taking a 1/2 day off work today to take the kids to the mountains to go hiking so I am very excited about that. I am not sure which hike we will go on but I am looking forward to some exercise. I must thank you ladies all the hiking talk got me in the mood and the kids seem very excited about it too.
|
:coffee:
hi all! today is cross training - some bike time, and weight training. All after class, though. :) |
Hi all, sorry I have been MIA. Had an awful eating and exercise week last week so I took a freebie. I'm still not 100% back on track but it's getting better. I'm refusing to weigh until Monday so I don't have a total meltdown haha.
Good news is I finally got in and got a new script for my ADD meds, so my dependency on caffeine just disappeared. No more Coke and Pepsi = less junk being put in my body! I am much happier to be back on track, although it will probably take a few days to regulate in my body. Well I am off to do more homework - my classes are killing me this term! I'm planning on walking this afternoon after lunch to get in some exercise. Maybe I will go dust off my weights too! |
hi everybody hope this week goes well for all of u im a bit off track this week .......i really wanted to be near 200 im 212 right now so lets see how this month ends .......i need to go grocery shopping for my dieting .....
anyways i hope u all stay on track and dont forget the water good luck |
Hey everyone, sorry I've been gone for a while. This week and next week are midterm weeks for me, so I've been EXTREMELY busy with school. I completely forgot to weigh in on Monday so I took my first freebie week. Hopefully things will die down a little bit next week.

Mommyofsix~ I felt bad for Tracy when she got hurt also, but damn, now I can’t stand her. I also thought the weather was going to break yesterday morning… and then a huge wind and rain storm hit and I got flattened by a tarp. It was AMAZING. Hiking sounds fun!!!
IgetfitNStrongforme~ I live in Vermont, so we get a lot of extreme weather. Meaning it can be extremely hot, extremely cold, extremely dry, etc. all in one year. Makes things interesting. dcapulet~ Awesome job!!! Cape Breton Chick~ Yay for seeing a dip on the scale!!! cakses~ Yay homework, woohoo… I feel for you… Your body will love you for not drinking as much soda! rosetta~ How did grocery shopping go? zoochick777~ Good luck with your midterms! I had a really good day yesterday, although it was insanely long. I had to be at school for 7, stay until 4:30 for an IEP meeting, and then work 5-9:30 at the restaurant. I have switched over to either having teriyaki chicken or chicken stirfry at the restaurant as I know their beef is super fatty and I know red meat is not super good for you. I am thinking about trying their broiled sole this weekend as I have been told to start eating more fish… catch is… I don’t like fish, so is sole a good one to start breaking myself in with? About to head out on our hike… |

Hi Red Team, happy Friday. I am back to 194, yes I had to peek at my weight to keep myself motivated. I'm super bogged down with homework, housework (still unpacking, putting up curtains, etc) and my son's therapy is now 5 days a week so that's taking up a lot of time but I am doing well with eating. I just need to make time for exercise. It's always hard to start up a new routine, but I am going to make good choices this weekend and force myself into an exercise regiment before October is done and I am still a couch potato!
No time for personals, but I hope you are all doing well and have a great weekend! |
IgetfitNStrongforme~ The restaurant I work at makes a broiled sole which always looks and smells amazing, so I was thinking of trying that. Vermont is amazing in the winter usually, especially where I live now (on one of the mountain ranges with higher elevation).
cakses~ Congrats on 194! School is over and I am ready for the weekend! Have a great weekend everyone!!! |
Today
I fell off the wagon and ordered Thai food for lunch; I won't go over my calories if I don't eat dinner. I am mad at myself because I haven't had delivery in I think almost a year, I have yummy food to eat at home so I am not sure why I ordered it. It wasn't that great, and now I feel just gross... I feel like I polluted my body. I have been eating only organic whole foods and cooking everything myself, following the "You On A Diet" menu plan from the book. And last week I ate 3 organic chocolate bars, for dinner, I can't explain my actions. I am feeling weird, and vulnerable now that I am getting closer to my goal.
|
TOM has moved on and I am sitting at 179. I never thought I'd see that number but it is sticking. I am hoping to lose a few pounds this month. Sept. was not good, hopefully Oct. wil be better. I am looking forward to seeing 175.
|
I've totally fallen off the wagon this week. It's not that I ate badly all the time, but I made some poor choices and I was not motivated with my exercise this week. I only got in two workouts. Usually I am up and moving all day at work teaching, and this past week we had 3 days with no students so we all had to do desk time. I let myself sink into a strong lack of motivation. One day the boss brought in pizza for everyone for lunch. Granted I only ate one slice, but still I didn't really need it. I also had one night's dinner I made a black bean chili loaded with salt and cheese. To put the knife in further, I went out for Indian food and drank 3 beers (which I have refrained from drinking for almost a whole month so I don't know why I started to do it the other night).
I'm sorry red team. I've totally blown my weight loss this week. So I think I'm going to take a freebie this week and try to get my head screwed on straight for next week. Thanks for letting me vent and be honest with myself and with you all. |
Must be one of those weeks! I am not "off the wagon", but I can't seem to lose anything to save my life. I mean, last night I had my "cheat meal" (pizza and a little ice cream, not terrible since they were reasonable portions), so I knew today I would be up a touch...no big deal. But today I ate OP and drank my water and all, yet I think tomorrow will show me even more up...UGH! Well, 'keep doing the right stuff and it will come off' is my new motto. I have meals planned for the weekend so I don't cave to my dissappointment and eat something unhealthy. I hope I can stay on track and post a decent number Monday!
|
Sorry I haven't been chatty lately. My weight seems to be back down, my official weigh-in is tomorrow. I'm just kinda nervous that this drop is just TOM (yeah, I LOSE weight at TOM). But I did finally get a workout in after being so freaking lazy lately. I ran/walked for 30 min, did weights for 15 min, then had work for 3 hours and swam when i got off. I was in such a good mood today and i really think it's because i exercised. I need to get in the gym more. I never feel like going when I'm stressed but it ends up making me feel so much better! Hope everyone else is doing well. Have an awesome weekend!
