Hello Ladies!!
I am so happy to be back on the RED Team - where I belong! Lol. It's lovely to be back with so many of you who have supported me in the past and it I'm looking forward to getting to know new people too!
Hope you are all having a good week. I can't wait to get this Challenge started - I'm so excited!!!
For those who don't know me, I am Lisa and I am a 30 year old HR professional. I love exercise but have been out of action for 3 months due to a knee injury and I am just starting to get back into it. I managed to regain 16 pounds (yikes!) in those 3 months because apart from not been able to exercise, I throw myself one big long pity party and ate junk food like it was going out of fashion!! More determined than ever now to shift the weight and build my strength and fitness back up.
This is a great place to be - the support is phenomenol - and I know that together we can help each other to rid ourselves of our excess baggage!!
Speak more soon

Hi Ladies! I'm glad to be back on the Red Team.
I'm 23 years old, single, and live with my Dad. I had got down to 154 a couple months ago, but had some really bad family stuff completely blow my program out of the water, and I managed to leap back up to 170 in the blink of an eye. My program is basically numbers in vs. numbers out. I try to stick to an average of 1500 calories per day, and to burn at least 350 calories per day. I basically let myself eat anything as long as it fits into my calories, but I do limit sugar (occasional glass of tea, sliver of BD cake, etc) and I'm trying to get in at least one fruit and two vegetables each day. I hope to reach my ultimate goal of 142 by April 1st.
Have a great day!
~Antonia

Hello Red Team!!! I am glad to be back in challenge mode. I missed my weekly monday weigh in. I almost just posted my weight out of habit. I did loose about 8 oz this week, any loss is good, but I was really hoping for more. I wonder if that had to do with the fact that I did not have to weigh in? Well to introduce myself to the new red members My name is Amy and I am a mommy to 6 boys and I work full time as a social worker for Neglected and Abused Children. My husband is somewhat supportive of my weight loss but he gets irriated at me when I say I can't have that or thats not on my plan. So that is slightly frustrating but I am learning to ignore it. We have had several children sick and missing school and I have 3 that play football for parks and rec so I have not been stricktly on plan the last month but I hope to get all that straightened out soon.
This is my second biggest looser challenge. I really need the accountability of a weekly challenge and hope to not let you guys down. I am starting calorie counting today. I sort of have been calorie counting for the past few months, but I was more following LA weight loss trying to eat specific foods and specific amounts. Now I am going to concentrate on a sepcific amount of calories and I am going to log my calories on Dailyplate and keep track of them that way. I still plan on limiting carbs and sugar but not depriving myself so much. I am starting to increase my exercise as well. I have been doing the 30 day shred for the past month and am happy with the results but did better with walking/jogging in intervals and alternating leg and arm weights each day. Now that the evenings are not so humid I will resume the walking.
I look forward to getting to know you all better and I am looking forward to the challenge. Shannon will be a wonderful team leader she is great about posting and keeping up with everyone.
Mindy- I am very happy all your co-workers were so postive about your weight loss!!! What you said about them not seeing you naked was hilarious. I am not sure where I saw this but yesterday I read an article about plus size models and the fact that they are only a size 10 and there was a girl from England who wants to be a plus size model and she is a size 14 and they said she was too big, they put a picture of her naked, now it was very tasteful and showed nothing but her stomach which was akward and loose much like my own. Anyway just thought I would shared that.
Bette- sounds like you have a plan, I am glad you will get to see your DH more
Canadamel- good to see you!!
I will post more later!!!

Cape Breton Chick, ellgee, weightlosswanted, CanadaMel, RangerChic, crcossel, Losing4another, dcapulet, mythreesons~ Hi!
bradleys mom~ I love 30DS! It kicks my butt!
Bette k~ Sounds like you are going to have a busy couple of months!
shan84~ I’m an English teacher also… not in as exciting a place as you are though… sounds amazing!
MissVitality~ Yikes, knee injury… what happened (if you don’t mind my asking)?
jayjay4444~ My sister trains dogs also and has a husky sled team.
MonteCristo~ Sounds like a great system you have!
Mommyofsix~ Wow! Six kids!!! That's incredible!
I’m a 25 year old struggling teacher who is currently working as a paraprofessional in a self-contained program at a high school (we have the hardest kids in the school, all together, very entertaining at times), and waitressing nights just to keep my head above water. I got out of a really mentally and physically abusive relationship in May and have really struggled with my weight loss, well not just since then, really since I’ve been with him. So there has been a lot of yo-yoing over the last 4 years, and I’m really hoping to stop it now that I’m on my own. I’m hoping to be able to afford a gym membership this weekend and start going ASAP, but money is tight, so I may need to find other ways of being active. The group I teach with goes on hikes at least twice a week, so that helps (we went on one yesterday and I am really feeling it today), but I’m not getting out enough after school (with the exception of when I’m waitressing). I can’t wait for the challenge to start!!!

Amy neglected to mention that she was team red's summer challenge biggest loser!! WTG Amy!! An inspiration to us all!!
My husband looked at me like I was nuts when I said I was at my halfway mark. This cimng from the guy who has never had a weight problem & could be considered underweight. Grrr
A quick intro- my name is Mel, 41 with 3 kids 2 daughters ages 9 & 5, and a son who's 7. I work part time at an Apple retail store. Just hit the half-way mark on this weight loss journey this past monday which has had apositive motivation effect.
I look forward to getting to know everyone & hope you all have a great day.

Mel-
I can totally relate. My husband weighs only about 2 lbs more than me right now and he is 5" taller. I recently realized that he has lost more likely because I now cook healthier meals and he is eating probably 1000 calories less a day than he needs to maintain his weight and maybe gain a bit of muscle. I'm not sure what to do....

KimL - the knee injury was caused by one moment of absolute stupidity! Long story but here goes......!
I was in a restaurant and towards the end of the evening, I came back to the table and (stupidly!) kneeled on my chair to chat to someone who was standing up. My feet were tucked under the seat of the chair. I lost my balance and me and the chair hit the ground hard. Because my feet were tucked under, I was unable to disentangle my legs before I hit the ground and I landed with my legs bent and my full weight landed on my left knee. I have never felt pain like it!!! My friends started laughing (what good friends I have?!) but quickly realised something was wrong and had to lift me off the floor as I couldn't move my leg. I spent 3 hours in the casualty department of the local hospital. I had badly damaged my posterior cruciate ligament.
Let's just say I won't be kneeling up on a chair ever again!!!
It has seemed like a long way back from injury and it's been very frustrating and I've been so restricted in what I can do. Now is the time to stop feeling sorry for myself and just get on with it!!
thanks for asking xxx
I am glad you have made the move to get yourself out of an abusive relationship - time to put yourself first. Good for you!

Jen , 09-09-2009 10:03 AM
Hi all. My name is Jen, I am 41, mom of 2...a 7 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I am married (my husband is a foot taller than me and weighs less than I do) and work as a RN, (but I aspire to be a photographer!) right now I am sort of between jobs, I have a part-time job in a hospital but the hours aren't working out for us at home but I'm trying to get a job in a physician's office, just waiting for some interviews, that would make life a lot easier around here. I've been overweight pretty much all my life and I'm really getting serious about losing right now. I feel like for years I've been lost in the shuffle of being married, working and having kids. Now it is time to do something for me! I started a liquid diet a week ago and it is working tremendously. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me to get and keep control of my eating once I come off the liquid diet. Also I really need to get into the exercise mode as well because I feel like a big tub of jello right now. I'm really looking forward to this challenge, hoping that it will help keep me on track with my diet program and motivate me to get into an exercise plan.

Hey all. I'm Ashley. I graduated from Uni last December with an Art Education degree. The job search hasn't been going so great; I've been lifeguarding and managing a pool since graduation. But I finally got myself on the sub list for a couple counties. I've just recently started substitute teaching and I'm still getting used to it. As far as weight loss, I've lost 30 so far on WW, and I'm hoping this challenge wil give me a good boost! I've been out of the gym for about a week with a rough cold. I still have a bit of a cough. So I don't know if my respiratory system is up to cardio yet, but I'm gonna test it out today. Go Red Team!
KimL- Do you have a YMCA near you? They're usually willing to work with you on price and have no contract (just cancel 30 days in advance). I only pay $20/month for my YMCA.

Hi Red Team. My name is Laurie and I'm 53 yo. I live with FH and have 2 kids and 5 grandkids. They all keep me busy. I am calorie counting and hope this challenge will be the kick in the pants I need to get serious about things!! I got down to 173 in March but then went on vacation and gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted (because I deserved it) and haven't stopped since. Needless to say I gained 16 pounds in no time flat. So I would really like to get those 16 pounds back off by the end of this challenge. If I don't get them all off, I will be happy with any loss. I'd also like to start exercising more. Right now I really don't do much so my plan is to do something 3 times a week to start. Be it riding my bicycle, walking round the lakes, using the eliptical - which is in my basement, or simply doing DVD's. Something!!!
Anyway, enough about me. I see lots of familiar faces on here and look forward to getting to know all of you. I have done several of these challenges - first starting on the black team and then on the red team. I've finished a couple but the others I didn't fare so well. I am determined to stay with this challenge until the end. No matter what the scale says. I will give encouragement to my fellow teammies and a swift kick in the behind when needed as well.
I better get off here for now. Just wanted to pop in real quick. I'll be back later. Be good to yourselves. You deserve it!!
