Good for you Rhonda! 10 lbs is tough to accomplish. You deserve something for all that effort! If I start smelling Cashmere around here...I'm going to be checking your ticker!

Well...the Christmas pounds did go away as quickly as they appeared. As of this morning I am back to my pre Christmas weight minus another .4 lbs! YAY! And all it took was stopping the binge and getting back on plan and excersise! Who knew?

I don't think my body liked me dumping all that junk into it though...I am coming down with some kind of nasty bug. This is the first time I have been sick since starting all of this in May. I took half a day off of work yesterday and plan to work only half a day today. Otherwise...it is laying around drinking lots of water for me. Not great for the excersiser in me...but it's all I can manage right now. The good news is I don't feel like eating, so it's pretty easy to stay OP.

Well I'll see you all back here next year! (ok...you knew sombody had to say it) Looking forward to the shiney new year and a shiney new challenge!

Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year!

DJ

Soon2bfit - I saw the challenge and signed up also. I think I said 25lbs. Rhonda - put down the muffins so you can start smelling good, er better then you do :D

So frick a frack I weighed in this morning and changed my ticker. I'm not amused by what I saw but hey good motivation right? It was time I fessed up to it instead of hiding. I am going to steal the 10lb reward idea. I've said I'd do it in the past but I am for real this time. The first reward is going to actually be at 10.8lbs lost as this will put me back to my lowest of 2008. The reward will be a bra fitting and a new bra (or two!). I'm in serious need and my bra size has changed.

What are you guys doing for New Years Eve tonight? I normally go out and make a fool of myself but have decided to just make a fool of myself at home this year ;) My family always used to do a dinner of snacks and munch all night while waiting for the ball to drop. I'm going to do the same thing with healthier options this year! I'm making a black eyed pea dip for corn chips or veggies, asparagus and white bean tarts, and probably have some hummus for veggies also. Now if I could just figure out how to remove the calories from rum and champagne

Morning everyone!

I'm making some resolutions for the new year.
1. get back to taking my glucophage regularly
2. some form of exercise 3 days a week (to start)
3. plan, plan, plan
4. rebuild my spreadsheet to track weight, water consumption, pills, exercise and food servings.
5. plan, plan, plan (i'm really working on this one)

HI Everyone,
I survived Christmas including the being snow and iced in for over 4 days, including grocery day so we ran out of milk and other stuff. I got to talk to DS sevral times over the weekend, he missed being home as much as we missed him ( he's in the Army) I told him next year to save his leave so he can be home with us. He's the oldest and it's his first time being gone on the holidays so it was extra hard.
Kimberly: Congrats on the new baby, I love how babies smell and like cuddles.

Girley Girl, I like the idea of a reward for 10 lbs, I just never though of getting it and having it there ntil I lose the weight, thanks for the idea.

maryshady: Are you finding it easier or harder to cook smaller meals? After DS left I'm having a harder time adjusting to cooking smaller amounts. And DD is a very light eater.

Zinke: Tell me more about the spread sheet idea, It sounds like something I could do.

My new year resolutions are the same ones I've made for several years and I know I will be able to keep them:
Kiss more babies, Always stop to smell the flowers, and only eat real chocolate.
My reasoning is that life is too short to waste on things that don't make me happy, and eating fake chocolate isn't worth the calories.
I hope everyone has a very happy new year.
Bette K

This is day 3 back on plan totally. I went down a pound on day 2, then back up .8 today. This is not easy. I wanted to get a little lower before weighing in, but whatever it is tomorrow is where i start. Jan1st, the start of round 2. 50 pounds in 2008 + 50 pounds in 2009 = very close to goal. ;)

See ya tom. and will post my starting weight.

I made my end of the year goal of 170! Im stoked! Now if I can hold onto 170 through the 2nd or 3rd, I'll be great!

I made it through my anniversary dinner without eating too much and I drank so much water yesterday (and at the movies) I think I flushed out any excess sodium. Now I just have to make it through NYE :)

40 Pounds Less Pictures

I tried out the new gym this morning. It will be fine, I just need to adjust to a different sort of crowd, young and buff rather than old and buff. Where the heck is the middle-aged and jiggly gym? That's where I belong.

I'm posting my 2 year progress pictures, which nicely coincided with the 40 pound lost mark. The coloring is odd in the one from today, I look radioactive. I don't expect much from a self-timed picture though.

For all of you doing the NYE 5K - don't forget to check in when you're done. I did one this morning but I had a lousy time, so I'm trying for real tomorrow.

Happy New Year!! :celebrate:

We were without power for about 26 hours here after our 70+mph hurricane force winds. Luckily most of the groceries I bought are pantry items. I think I lost 2 containers of ice cream. No harm there.

I just build a simple spreadsheet on Works or Google documents with a spot to mark things off. A calender would work just as easily but I'm sorta geeky sometimes.

Great job to those who have accomplished their year end goals. I know that we can all start the new year with a clean slate and do GREAT things.

Happy New Year! Yea, so I didn't make it until midnight, did you?! I came close, but I was warm and snuggly w/ the dogs and dh....and fell asleep. Oh well, that's ok!

I let myself have a few snacks last night (planned for it, so it was ok), BUT I do not feel that great today. I totally know better!!! Oh well, I'll have dh take the leftovers to work today.

I did go grocery shopping yesterday and stocked up on all the healthy, good stuff again. It's nice to open the cupboard/refrigerator and have LOTS of healthy choices!

Rhonda--Ooh, I have seen that before, I hope it smells as good as it sounds! I know you will be using that soon!! My next "reward" is coming soon...it's a red licorice body wash and lip gloss from philosophy.

Dee--You look fantastic!!! Way to go!!!! Your gym comment made me laugh...come on over to my gym, we have a nice mix of young and buff (I call them the 'muscle guys', middle age, and older adults--fit and jiggly. All kidding aside, that's one of the reasons I like going there--it is NOT a "luxury" gym by any means, but there is a nice mix of ages and fitness levels.

zinke--Wow, that's a lot of wind! Hopefully you didn't have any damage (other than the ice cream LOL!)

Have a great day everyone!

Happy New Year, everyone. I was away for Christmas and got back this week but was totally busy planning and giving a baby shower/Christmas party combination. I can't lie. I did not stay on plan Christmas and I haven't stepped on a scale since December 20 and I'm not stepping on again until early Monday morning when I post my weight. Ha, ha. I said I wouldn't gain weight over Christmas but I'm doubtful if I kept that promise.

Hope everyone has a good and prosperous new year.
