Ugh....how to gain 11 pounds over the holdiays......not sure how I did it but I did. I am so ready for the challenge. Even though I had great holidays.....I am glad they are almost over with. I am not a big New Year's fan and I am so ready for OP change.

I'm afraid I have gone to the "dark side" and have indulged more than I should have. Today wasn't too bad but I did have chips, some soda pop and ice cream but I didn't eat chocolate and had soup and fruit salad for supper. So I'm getting back on track and I'll give myself all next week to get back on track. We're having a baby shower/Christmas party next week but I'll be home then and have more control over the food. NYE is another food night but again I'll be home and in control. I have no chips at home and I'm not buying any-not even for the party.
My weigh in day was today but that got skipped as my scales are at home so I'll wait til next Saturday and post that weight for TBL challenge. I gotta get back on fitday again, too. I got a food scale for Christmas which I really want to start using. It's still in the box right now sitting under the Christmas tree but when I get home it's going to sit on the kitchen counter. Catch you all later when I can get hold of a computer again. |
Hey everybody!!
I did two challenges with the Black team (Hey Julz!!) and loved it. I was on the red team for the WAF challenge and was a complete putz. I'd slipped off-plan for a while before the challenge started and I never really got going. I've been doing a lot of soul searching about WHY I slipped off plan. I'm also dealing with the fact that I have gained about 8 pounds. At least, it was 8 pounds last time I was on the scale, which has been about 10 days. My life got BUSY. I started working again and I'm going back to college full time in January. I'm also involved in a stressful lawsuit with my x-husband and I'm acting as my own attorney. The stress has gotten the best of me. I thought I had this whole "weight" thing licked and as soon as life got stressful, I slipped back into my slovenly ways. Skipped workouts, didn't eat properly. I'VE GOT TO GET BACK ON TRACK!! That's why I'm here. :) I'm thrilled to see so many people I recognize! I live in North Idaho and must say that I'm thankful for all the snow we've had! Shoveling snow is the only thing keeping me from expanding out of my jeans!! :) |
New to BL
Well, I tried to read through all this thread, but couldn't do it! I am new to TBL Challenges. I just joined a gym today and had a great workout. I look forward to having TBL Challenge on my mind as I hit the gym.
I would like to shoot for losing 12 - 15 pounds on this challenge. My biggest obstacle is my eating habits. If I can get more salads into my diet and more veggie snacks, I will be a long way to reaching my goal. Exercise isn't as hard for me to keep up with. But if I don't follow through on a healthier diet, all the exercise in the world doesn't help me. I really need to completely cut sweets out of my diet as well, because it has a snowball affect for me otherwise. I look forward to getting to know all of you! |
Good morning everyone!
The initial weigh-in thread is up, which means the challenge is getting close to starting! I'm hoping to see a nice big loss right off the bat, as we come out of the holidays and I've found a renewed purpose and resolve. My biggest obstacle, I think, will be avoiding the drive to turn messy home life situations into excuses to eat. I've been working through some stuff over the past month or two and have let myself take comfort in food, which is not a habit I am particularly proud of. It's time for me to take control of my emotions, and discover new healthier ways of dealing with hurt and anger and frustration that don't involve buckets of ice cream and dozens of doughnuts. Anyway, this is where my head is right now. I have posted my weight and will see where this gets me in the first week of January at our first official WI! Kim - the good thing about holiday weight is that as soon as you put your mind to it, it comes off far easier than anything else. So say goodbye to those 11 pounds...! :) Dora - I see you're itching to begin again too, huh? Isabella - Congrats on your success so far! You're doing great! It sounds like you still have some challenges ahead of you in the next few days, but it looks like you know what you need to do :) Bravo on fruit salad and soup! Mindy - Wow, story of my life! :p Why do we keep putting ourselves second, whenever something else pops up that needs our attention? *shakes head* What are you going back to school for? That's exciting! Clykk - Veggies are good :) I can't do the "absolutely no sugar" mentality either. I just focus on healthy eating and when I realize how much better I feel when I eat right, sugar doesn't play a big role in my life. But as soon as I start telling myself I can't have it, it's all I want! :p |
OK Jamie...I'm holding you to that bit about holiday pounds comming off quickly. I began my holiday celebrating on the 23rd. The plan was to stop on the 25th...Uh Oh...I holiday spirit spilled over a bit...and what a bingerific holiday I have had!
Today's weigh in/damage assessment...7.5 lbs!:o Yikes! So...I'm regrouping...time to get down to challenge business. Starting RIGHT NOW! :carrot: Healthy breakfast.....check:D Excersise....welll....ok...I'm going, I'm going:p |
You are all making me scared to weigh-in tomorrow morning! I'm almost 100% sure I'll have a gain, but I'd like it to be a little one. :P
I'm heading back home today, and most of the holiday treats are staying at my parents' house! One small package of treats will come back with me, but it'll be easy to pace myself with that. Gym-going starts up again this coming week, and I'm really excited about it. I have missed how strong it makes me feel! |
Hi everyone! I am REALLY not looking forward to hopping on the scale, so I may wait until the end of our deadline for weigh in...I am still really bloated from my surgery. I haven't been eating great, but not terrible either. Of course, no exercise (drs orders), so all of that put together will most likely equal a gain. It's ok, though, time to get back on track! I am going to hit the gym tomorrow for some 'easy' walking--dr says that's ok, as long as I don't push it.

Made it through another family get together yesterday. Even had drinks. I do NOT want to post a weight yet. I think I will wait a few days. It won't be pretty.
Clykk- Good for you on joining the gym. I don't think I am far behind you. |
Hey y'all! I'm excited about the challenge! When do they announce teams?

I am wondering about the Garmin and gadgets like that....how do they work for someone whose metabolism is screwed up because of thyroid problems? My doc says only 30 mins a day but 7 days a week. He says I don't burn calories like a normal person......
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the weight came off as quickly as it went on? Somehow I don't think that's how it works but it would be nice. It will be easier though because I am going to remain focused through it to the weight is off. We have a new YMCA and I need to check it out and find out where everything is....that is on my to do list this week! I love the fact the challenge will be beginning so soon!!!!!! Wooooooo Hooooooo! |
