RED Team "Earning my allowance" exercise challenge

  • Okay Red Team...we need to do some chores to earn our allowance this week!

    I've got kids and they have each have reward charts, on those charts are a list of chores that need to be completed during the week in order for them to earn an allowance. What you need to do is this -

    1. Make a list of "chores" one "chore" for each day of the week, we'll start on Monday since its short notice (Monday October 20 - Sunday October 26)

    Here is an example of your chore list-
    Monday - 30 minute walk
    Tuesday - Last chance workout during TBL commercials
    Wednesday - 45 minutes yoga
    Thursday - 15 minutes on the elliptical
    Friday - walk somewhere instead of driving
    Saturday - weights
    Sunday - Workout DVD

    2. At the end of the week, when you've completed all your "chores" you will have earned your allowance. If you can make it through the week, you need to take go buy yourself something, doesn't have to be anything major just SOMETHING! A new book, a starbucks coffee, a new toe nail polish, a nice candle, a flower...you get the idea.

    Can you make a list and stick to it for 7 days?

    Post up your lists! Check those chores off as they are done! Then we want to know what you bought for yourself!

    Monday- Watp- 2 mile walk Done
    Tuesday- Billy Blanks Tae Bo Did BL Cardio Max instead and jogged a 1/2 mile also
    Wednesday- Jillian's Shred 20 min. plus a mile walk/jog We did BL again today. Then I did a mile jog. Am I crazy?
    Thursday- BL Cardio Max Did Jillian's Shred level 1 and then a mile walk/jog
    Friday- BL Power sculpt Jillian level1 and 20 min. of WATP
    Saturday- Jog/walk at least 3 miles
    Sunday- Jog/walk at least 3 miles


    Reward-- How about a movie? I would like to see "Beverly Hills Chiuhuhua"

    I may not do these on the exact day listed, since I workout with friends. But this is a good guesstimate.

    Monday - jog 3 miles or weights and walk up hill at school
    Tuesday - walk to school
    Wednesday -jog 3 miles
    Thursday - 30 minutes on the arc trainer
    Friday - jog 2 miles
    Saturday - something active with my daughter for at least 1 hour
    Sunday - something on my moms treadmill for at least 30 minutes

    Monday - 20 minutes of pilates (dvd) - Didn't do pilates but wrestled with a 100 lb dog for at least 10 minutes, more calories burned than pilates LOL

    Tuesday - stability ball workout during TBL (strive for 20 minutes total, since i fast forward thru commercials) - Did 6.5 minutes (at least 110 crunches-various types, and 10 pushups on my Ball) during TBL.

    Wednesday - 10 minutes playing with the kids - Chased Alex for a while outside trying to get him to come in the house and he thought it was a game lol so I guess that counts. Also deep cleaned my floors for about 1.5 hours and worked up a sweat

    Thursday - 10 minutes of cardio

    Friday - Stability Ball crunches, at least 5 minutes

    Saturday - Clean up the yard (usually about 30 minutes) - DONE

    Sunday - 10 REAL pushups (up to 3 minutes) - DONE


    Days Completed Chores: 3.83/7
    Minutes of Chores Completed: 137/98

    Allowance - 2 pairs of jeans, since all my old jeans don't fit

    Monday - Tennis with the kids (didn't get to go-30 min tm) DONE
    Tuesday - 30 min Wii Fit and marching during TBL DONE and DONE
    Wednesday - At least 30 min on the treadmill (walked a trail with the kids 45 min!) DONE
    Thursday - Same as Wed DONE
    Friday - Some basketball or tennis with the kids (tm 30 min) DONE
    Saturday - 30 min on tm (hiking!) DONE
    Sunday - 30 min on tm (hiking!) DONE

    I may have to shuffle these around depending on kids, mine and DH's schedules, but I commit to at least 30 minutes of exercise everyday.

    I don't want to specify exactly what I'm going to do eachday (yes my house work is much like that )

    Monday - 30 mins + 50 pushups ~DONE!!!
    Tuesday - walking during DD's dance class - 60 mins + TBL LC workout DONE!!!
    Wednesday - 30 mins + 50 Pushups ~ DONE + 50 crunches (10 upper, 10 lower, 10 each side obliques & 10 bicycle)
    Thursday - 30 mins DONE!
    Friday - 30 mins + 50 PushupsDONE - Actually did 45 mins WATP, 50 PU, 50 Crunches and 10 min Stretch DVD because I binged a little today and needed to get back to my Net caloire goal - which I did!
    Saturday - 30 mins of something lower impactDone - walked w/ DD "trick-or-Treating" in our local mall for over an hour. I'm going to do something else tonight too though - to burn some more calories - especially since MIL is having a football party today, and I'm not 100% sure of what my food choices will be, although i will do my best!
    Sunday - 45 mins

    Reward: HAIR DYE!! I'm SO sick of my natural color!!!
  • Monday: jog after work - 5k+
    Tuesday: abs, lift before work, cardio step during the biggest loser after work
    Wednesday: jog after work - 5k+
    Thursday: abs, lift before work, cardio step or shred after work
    Friday: jog after work - 5k+
    Saturday: abs, lift, and swim or elliptical
    Sunday: abs, lift, one hour jog

    Reward: the book that the doctor from the biggest loser wrote that just came out...

    This week is a wash for me, thanks to this injured toe.

    For medical reasons, (not my toe) I have to drop this challenge.
