What a strange and wonderful day!

Last night, when some of the gals here were talking about their DHs and their drinking, I was in the middle of posting how my DH also drinks and how I also don't like it as he is not himself and is often a meaner self as well. However, just as I was getting to write that, he came downstairs to see me. He kissed me and was so sweet, and we looked online together for a little trunk for his scooter for Father's Day. (I had quickly dropped 3FC when I heard him coming - so I lost the post, etc.)

Today, I went to church like normal, and knowing we were having his mother over for Father's Day and DH was fixing a smoked turkey, I called home to see if he needed anything from the store. He said wine :( and stove top dressing. Then he said he had Subaru bugging him on the other line so he had to go. (We've been looking at new Subaru's since my Forester has 109K and I drive so much). When I got home, he met me at the car and said, "Take out all your personal belongings." I asked, "What's going on?" He said "They're coming to take your car." "Well, what will I drive to work tomorrow." "They're bringing a new one to replace it."

I couldn't believe it!!! For Father's Day, I get a new car??? DH was kidding wih his Mom (after they had quite a bit of wine) "What happened today? there's a new car down in the garage." He's been very sweet about it, and shelled out some cash, along with our trade-in to make the deal, with the balance at 0% for the next 2 years.

Needless to say, I had an off-plan meal, just one, and a real off plan day!:dizzy:

Congratulations to Michelle, both on her accomplishment and her sweet DH.

And, oh yes, Vix, we definitely see a difference. And like I said earlier, you look so young in your avatar, I thought it was a daughter. Wish I could say that!!!

Amy - Awesome to be below the dastardly 270 mark. You are on a roll now!

Good to see you back Renee!!! You globetrotter, you.

I'm looking for the under 220 mark next, being just under 225. Can't wait.

(The lady in the picture is the salesperson, who drove this car from Medford, 100 miles from here! Talk about persuasive - my DH is NO pushover. The white one's my old Forester, the silver, the new Outback.)

Working today (Monday), probably check in Tuesday. Have a great OP day!!!

Man, I've been missing all these posts over the weekend because I have my account set up to automatically subscribe me to any threads I post in, and then I just check my User CP for subscribed theads with new posts. I didn't see any new posts in our Blue Team chat thread Saturday evening, none yesterday, and when I saw none again this morning, I knew something was up...duh, old thread was closed :dizzy:

I didn't weigh myself this morning, but we ate out yesterday AND Saturday, so I'm sure it's up a bit if just from water retention--I can feel that my ring is fitting a little tighter today. At least my sugar didn't spike with the eating out, though.

We ended up not going to Jeff's cousins' as planned--they cancelled because their oldest son wanted to see Jeff, but he had to work all weekend, so we'll do it another weekend. Instead, I did a LOT of shopping! Not for clothes for myself, but for house stuff. The theme in my kitchen is palm trees, and I found some cute palm tree candle holders and palm leaf and bamboo plates and serving platters at Kohl's and some great palm tree stuff (scatter rugs and towels) at JCPenney Outlet. The Linnens 'n Things outlet near me is closing, so I hit their liquidation sale, but it's early, so everything is only like 10-20% off. I'll go back in a couple weeks for the really good bargains ;) I don't normally shop much at places like Bed Bath & Beyond simply because I'm cheap and can usually find similar items at Walmart, but I happened to pop in there, too, and I did find some cool stuff (Debbie Meyer green bags for produce and red bags for cold cuts were my happy find--my mother swears by them!).

Hopefully tonight we'll be able to get the first coat of sealer on our deck, and then the second coat tomorrow, and then I am travelling to NJ again on Wednesday, Thursday, and now possibly also Friday. My parents, sister, and nieces are coming to visit this coming weekend, so who knows when I'll have a chance to clean the house before they come!

tkglenn 06-16-2008 06:34 AM

Dora-Congrats on the new car. Wow, YOU get a gift for father's day, I wish my father's days were like that...lol. Nice car!!! My dream car is a mitsubishi evolution--gray or black!! Oh, to have that car....I think I would give almost anything.

Amy-Congrats on getting below 270. Trust me, I know how it feels to be stuck at a weight for such a long time. Keep up the good work.

My weekend was alittle irritating, I guess you could say. I did a cake for Leo for father's day. I made a toolbox cake for him--and he didn't even know what it was. I hadn't made the tools yet but finished the box and he couldn't guess it. So, finally ds1 gave him hints and he got it. He was drinking all night, oh how I can't stand it. By the end of the night my kids were covered in powdered sugar. They wanted to be a cake decorator like me and had powdered sugar all over their faces. Then Leo got involved and it ended up all over my kitchen floor (I still didn't get the tools done). I cleaned the kids up, the floor up, and got the kids ready for bed and decided I would save the tools for yesterday. Well, while cleaning everything up, I had demands coming from every angle. Leo asking for food, DS2 asking for ice cream, the dogs needed to be put away, DD needed a bath, and DS3 is sick. I was so irritated--no help from Leo because he's been drinking all night. By the time I got everyone off to bed he was becoming his obnoxious type "tipsy". I was so irritated. I told him that that's why I can't stand it when he drinks because he gets like that. He ignored it. He fell asleep and DS3 woke up to eat. I fed him and put him back to sleep. I couldn't sleep anymore because of how irritated I was so I came online. Yesterday, very lazy and boring day. Leo drank again half the day. He was having anxiety attacks and decided to drink to take it away. It didn't go away. He kept drinking more thinking it would go away. It didn't. As time was going on, I got more and more irritated by him and his obnoxious tipsy self. I didn't finish the tools because of how irritated I was. He didn't want me to finish it so I ended up not taking a pic of the cake because it was undone. Oh well, I'll make another one some time I'm sure. But couldn't sleep again last night. Leo wanted me to sleep with no clothes on but I wanted to shower, I had gone to the gym earlier in the afternoon and I was sticky and icky but he got mad. Took a shower and he was asleep. I couldn't sleep. I just layed there and tossed and turned for about 45 minutes. Oooohhhh, how I hate sleepless nights. Ever since I've been working out, I can't sleep that well at night. I have too much energy.

Well, everyone, hope you have a wonderful day!!!

I also forgot, I bought my 20 lb loss reward yesterday. I bought a bikini top!!! I'll be getting the bottoms this coming weekend. Woohoo!!! I tried it on and it looks good. The only thing is that I still have some fat under my arms next to boobies that needs to be lost, but still, I have never worn a biniki before. Leo told me not to wear it. He didn't mean MEAN out of it, it was a compliment. He didn't want other guys to be looking at me. I feel so good!!!! WooHoo.

It sounds as though everyone has experienced success so far this week! Way to go, BLUE TEAM!!!!

Sport mom -I have also seen Sex in the City and loved it - I have seen every episode several times - I laughed and cried during the movie- did you shed a tear? I went with my best friends - one has seen some episodes, one hasnt seen any... they also loved it!

Velveteen - Thank you!!!

chellez 06-16-2008 08:07 AM

Morning Bluesters!

A few things to keep in mind for today...

You need to weigh in for the week by tonight at 11:59 pm EST if you haven't already done so.

You need to have all of your exercise for the 1st week of the booty challenge posted by 11:59 pm EST tonight so results can be tallied tomorrow.

Well I didn't lose and I didn't gain this week, which in hind sight it pretty fabulous considering we ate out all weekend. Sushi Friday night, chicken Saturday night and steaks with potatoes last night. :faint: But in any case I managed to hang onto 203. I'm hoping the next week to come I get back to Onederland! :)

Mrs Snark 06-16-2008 08:11 AM

Morning Blueser Gang. :cheer3:

I'm reporting a 4 pound loss for Week 8. Amazingly, it seems my average weight loss per week has accelerated over the last month versus slowed down as I expected. But hey, I won't complain about it. I'm sure it will slow down soon enough and I'll be whining about it then. Might as well just enjoy it for now! :)

Hopefulpinkangel 06-16-2008 08:30 AM

Congrats Chellez and Amy!

Sadly I'm going to have to take a freebie this week. :( I have had the worst time this week and made some really bad choices. I'm back OP today and trying to just put the bad choices behind me. I really slacked on the exercise too last week (even though I did some exercise it wasn't even near what it should have been). Well I have a ton of work to do today so I'm going to get to it and try to check in later.

Someone give me a kick in the butt while I'm gone so that I can get back into gear!

pintobean 06-16-2008 08:48 AM

:sunny: Morning team! :sunny:
It is MUGGY this morning!

How's everyone doing? Nothing much going on this end. I didn't lose a lot this past week but then it was also TOM week so I'm hoping it was cuz of that. I've been exercising almost every day and eating OP (well except friday night). I'm hoping to post a bigger loss next week :)

We went to see Hulk on saturday. It was a good movie. Special effects looked good without it looking cheesy. Please disregard the Hulk that came out few years ago with Eric Bana that was horrible compared to this new one. Edward Norton was good :) And oh if you guys decide to go there's nothing at the end of the credits.

Jill, let me know how you like the bags? I've been thinking about buying them too but don't know if it's a market gimmick or do they really work? I see the commercial all the time.

Tawnya, for hubby being a pain. Hang in there. Great on the Bikini top purchase. I am sure you look great :)

Dora, Congrats on the new car and it is a nice car :) My hubby drives an outback wagon too. We love our subaru cars. I drive a subaru too.

Jo, great loss!!! 4 lbs girl that's amazing!

Jennifer, :kickbutt: get back on track!!! There is that better?

Amy, congrats on the loss...bye bye 270s :)
