Okay..so...I was all ready to go to the gym, when I was suddenly surrounded by a giant pack of rats. :o They stared at me with their little, beady rat eyes and threatened to rub their disgusting pink rat tails on me if I went to the gym. I had no choice BUT to surrender to their will and not go...I mean what else could I do??

Actually, my sister called me in a panic about some test they were going to do on my BIL. I spent the day feeling sick to my stomach and worrying, only to get a phone call later from her, as if nothing happened. The test was actually a routine test that will be done everyday while he is in the Neuro ICU, and once that was explained to her, she was fine. One small detail though...she forgot to tell ME!! So, I pretty much spent the day feeling like someone had kicked me in the stomach until I got her call. :dizzy:
Anyway, I plan on going to the gym this morning and getting back into my routine. BIL is still pretty unstable and this is going to be a long road, so I HAVE to keep it together. My sister and I are both ex-ICU nurses and it's VERY hard not to micro-manage, but we're trying. ;)

So, my plan is to go to the gym...rats or not, catch up with :drill: because I'm sure he misses yelling at me and start to get back into my routine.

Having Erica home is amazing and it seems like she is relaxing more and getting out of "military" mode more and more each day. Thank God, because the first few days were ****. She was trying to run my home like a military base, organizing EVERYTHING...and making me crazy! The cherry on the cake is that she is a COP in the Navy and has LOT'S of "suggestions" about my driving. I still love her though.;)

Zinke: I don't know why, but I seem to have the most trouble getting rid of big underwear and believing I can fit into a size smaller, even when the current ones look like a diaper.:)

Hey again, Bluesers! So, how many of the wonderful Blue team have signed up for the Memorial Day 3FC 5K? A lot of the Red ones have signed up. Let's make our presence known around 3FC......anyone care to join me on a 3.1 mile walk/run/jog/elliptical experience?

Here's the sign-up http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141737

good morning. nothing much on my agenda for today. Just making some cakes for the boys teachers for teacher appreciation week. DS1 has a problem at school with kids teasing him. I keep telling him that he needs to be strong and show them that he is strong. They tease him when he wears shorts (about his legs). I tried making him wear his shorts to school today to make him stronger by showing the kids that he's not gonna give in to them by wearing pants all the time but he absolutely refused. He keeps telling me he doesn't wanna be teased anymore. I told him that he needs to be strong and wear those shorts. By wearing those shorts, it'll show them he doesn't care about what they say. They will eventually stop because he's showing that he doesn't care about what they say.

Morning Chickies

Well I ran out of creamer, so no coffee this morning to hold me up... and I'm feeling it! I didn't get to bed til 12:30 for some reason and no coffee = bad news bears for me.

So since its overcast/:rain: here... its a catch up on Dee's book day. :D

BTW: Got on the scale this morning and I was back down to 202! :carrot: Now I just need to lose another 2 lbs this week :p

pintobean 05-08-2008 08:33 AM

:sunny: morning everyone :sunny:
Although it's not sunny at all here today...

Nothing much going on today...all work and no play. I've been working out every day since last week's challenge and I hope to keep it up as weeks go by. Thanks chellez for the challenges cuz I think that's what is keeping me on track with the exercise. However, my scale is not moving...bummer :( I have not lost any weight it seems. DH says I need to give time for my muscle to build and then I will start losing and I know this but all my eyes are seeing the numbers are not going down. I feel sort of disappointed. I just hope I don't lose my motivation here. I've been eating well I think and exercising. I don't know what else to do. Then sometime next week or so is TOM so that doesn't help either. Oh well...

OMG...I hate kids that tease other kids! Don't MAKE us blue teamers come and teach those brats a lesson! :nono:

Good morning. My scale went down this morning, I hope it is still down tomorrow when I step on it for my official weigh in!! Yesterday I had a HUGE work out. It seriously felt like a true biggest loser work out. I did the bike for 37 min, the elipitcal for 37 min, the weigh machines for 30 min, and then I did an aqua fit class for 45 min. I was sooooo tired last night.

Anyone else having a hard time keeping up with this thread? I feel bad that I cant reply to everyone I just dont have the time to go thru each post when there are pages and pages to catch up on. :(

Have a good day blue, I gotta go!

Morning Bluesies! :cheer3: It's a beautiful day here in Florida. I got my 6 mile run in firs thing this morning, along with some nice walking on the beach as a cooldown. Just gorgeous. Looking forward to the weekend. DH is off for a 3 day weekend and we're kicking it off right tonight with a bike ride and then tomorrow we are participating in the cleanup of one of the local creeks/inlets where we travel by kayak and pick up the trash that is floating or caught in the mangroves. Should be both fun and make me feel good about doing my civic duty.

I'm signed up, I'll be doing a double at least! Let's get lots of Bluesies on board!

Hi everyone! I have another really busy day (sounding like a broken record yet?), but at least the weekend is almost here!

Have a great on plan day!

jillybean720 05-08-2008 08:53 AM

Good lord--so many posts since I last checked in! GO BLUE :cheer3:

I didn't exercise last night or this morning. I needed rest and sleep more than I needed the exercise. I'll go walking again today, though, so no full days off, but it still felt like a break.

My neighbor swears by Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover. She said she lost 60 pounds on it once (has since gained it back). She loves it so much she just had to share it with me. I looked through the box of guides and papers and booklets she gave me, and for me (apparently a Body Type A), it's basically just a low carb, low fat plan. There are some things in his plan I agree with and some I don't. He insists that diet soda is not allowed at all because of the "very high" sodium. Umm, the can of Diet Pepsi Max on my desk has 35mg sodium in the entire can. Since when is that high? As long as you're not drinking a case of soda a day, it really shouldn't be that big a deal.

Also, he states upfront that severely reducing calories is a bad idea (I think we all know this, right?). But then his meal plan for a whole day only comes out to be 867 calories when I enter it into Fitday, and that's going on the high side (i.e., if it says 1-2oz of something, I entered 2oz). Oh, and only 11 grams of fat for the whole day :o

It just kills me that he touts his plan as allowing you to eat MORE and lose weight, yet it is sooooo low in calories and probably dangerously low in fat. I know a lot of people have had success on this plan, but how could you eat like this for an extended period of time? I would go crazy! :dizzy:

tkglenn 05-08-2008 09:00 AM

missingmyerica-Yeah, I hate it too. And what do I do in a situation like that?! It's not nice to tease but tease back?! The teachers don't do anything about it and if I go to the principle they will make excuses for it. We're trying to get our kids to a better school next year. My oldest had nothing but trouble at this school. Each year, the kids get worse and worse. I can't stand it.

DH and I tried it earlier last year and we got the whole kit with exercise DVDs etc. We were on the plan for a month and I did lose 10 lbs but gained it all back and then some with a vengeance. Needless to say we were not on that plan for long. It was just too much effort prepping and cooking food his way and eating the way he suggested was just too bland and crazy for me. If I remember correctly his whole idea is to cut salt to the max. Although I do agree with him on the fact that eating more than 3-4 oz of meat/protein per meal is not good.

That's bizarre! I can't believe he would provide a meal plan eith so few calories!
