Muse~ That's an interesting observation, not sure I would have noticed it. I am interested in the results of that as well. Wonder if there are any other "humps" to be had.
Tina~ thanks, I think we are getting things cleared up.

Hi Red Team.

I was away at a conference all last week. Stayed more or less on plan and made it to the gym at the hotel. I'm SO tired, but happy to be home! Have a great week!

Sugar-N-Spice 02-05-2008 06:11 PM

Good evening Red!

Sorry to have gone missing for a few days, but I have caught up with reading. You all are doing SO well, I am so impressed and proud of each and every one of you. So we weren't the "biggest losers" this week, that's ok, it was this l l close! Despite the visits from AF everyone hung in there and fought on.

I have to say, being away from the board for days really really reflects on my behavior during the day! I had a not-so-good super bowl day food wise, and yesterday was only so-so, a definite improvement over Sunday but still not where it should be. I'm finding that not only is it necessary to just read what everyone is up to, but imperative to post even if to just say hey,I'm still breathing. Something about that connection and reaching out........

Again, really thrilled with everyone's progress this week, you're all superstars IMO. Progress not perfection!

Big congrat's to our biggest loser, Jen you're awesome!!!

Utah - amazing job! Doesn't it feel so fantastic when you can resist? It's almost better than never being tempted at all!

Ideal - when people on my team even MENTION a food place (restaurant, coffee shop, smoothie place, etc), I have been immediately googling to find out calorie info. I now have a list of Laura-approved choices (meaning, the lowest cal items on the menu that still sound good) for about ten places near my client, so I know what I can pick when the team suddenly wants a mid-afternoon coffee or snack.

LadyZaidi - yay for us traveling Red Team members! We're doing well :)

This morning I had a quick 20 minute arms workout, using a few machines at the hotel gym and then some really light makeshift dumbbells in my room (water bottles filled with water and then I stuck them in glass coffee cups to give them more weight). I ate a heavy breakfast (460 cals - not out of range, but heavier than I usually go for breakfast) and a heavier lunch (510 cals - same comments), because on this project I'm so busy that I tend to want fuel during the day and then am not hungry at night. I was planning on just eating a light 200 calorie salad, so that's all I budgeted for. I also planned to watch TBL for an hour on the elliptical and then do some more dumbbells for the second hour. Unfortunately, I just got invited to go out to a team dinner at this really nice restaurant, and I really can't turn it down. So my new plan is to eat fairly lightly at the restaurant (hopefully 600 cals? So tough at a steakhouse!), walk the one mile back to the hotel instead of taking a cab, and then make SURE I go to the gym for an hour when I get back to the hotel at 11:30. I know I need to get up at 6 to work out, but hey, I can always sleep on the weekend!

Tomorrow I'm going to eat very lightly for breakfast (140 cal packet of oatmeal that I packed), and for lunch (200 cal sammie at Quiznos and a 50 calorie salad), because I already know I'm going out for another heavy dinner. It's all about the planning!

I just realized (yes takes me awhile!) that I cant watch the show tonight because I've got PTA! Which means I'll have to tape it, hopefully watch it tonight after the meeting. But that means I wont be working out during the show. But I will be doing plank...or trying to for a commercial break! And chair too!

Laura...we are having steak tonight! Actually if you get a lean cut its not too bad, can you put salsa on a potato? Thats what I'm doing. Planning is key and you are doing great! Keep it up!

Danielle...I miss you when you arent around here! But, I know that you are right, when you (or anyone) isnt participating they arent holding themselves accountable and its harder to stay the course. Like you said, even if its just a hey!

LadyZ...welcome home!!! sounds like you did pretty good in a tough situation! Have a wonderful week!

Kari...I'm sorry you've got stress to deal with! I hope its all cleared up soon! No emotional eating, if the problem isnt hunger dont fix it with food!

Hun.e.B 02-05-2008 07:15 PM

Tina....bend over woman because here comes your kick!! :club::kickbutt: You know what your goals are, and you know what you've gotta do to reach those goals. So it just comes down to asking yourself, what is more important to you, your goals? or going off plan? Only you know that answer, but i'm willing to bet I could guess!! LOL..I'm not trying to kill ya, just make us all lean mean losing machines!

Muse...you are onto something VERY interesting!!

DK...way to go on C25K!!! And another workout after it!! WOOHOO!! thats a sure sign of success!! Keep it up!

Melissa73...I love Lost!! I'm so happy its back but OMG I'm totally lost and confused already! LOL! Excellent job on those workouts!! 2 hours cardio! WOW!! Love those goals btw!!

Tarapet...you are doing fantastic!!! Keep it up!!

There isn't anything bad for us within reason. I have found I buy much better pieces of meat and at the same time, we are eating smaller pieces ( now eating a proper portion size ). Doesn't really cost any more than it did before because I don't have to buy as much.

Laura
Sounds like you are making good choices. Congrats. I remember when I first started doing dumbbell training. I was using to tea bottles. 16 oz filled with water lol. It all works.

Danielle

I have found the same thing. When I have days I can't be here ( doesn't happen to often ) I first, really miss knowing how everyone is doing and second, don't watch what I am doing quite as closely.

Lady
Nice to have you back and nice going staying pretty much to your plan. It can be hard when one isn't home.

Spider
You are doing so great. I am happy you are so excited.

Kari
You just keep with it. Most of us have times here and there that things are quite what we would like them to be.

jl
Nice going on the weight loss. I do things like that when I have nothing to do lol. Would be great to have time to do that every Monday.

Ter
I am finding I am ready to have the house just to my husband and myself. Now don't get me wrong. I have devoted my life to my children ( stay at home mom most of the time so they had 100% of my time if they wanted it ) and I loved every min of it. BUT Now is coming the time for me. Look forward to it being like it was so many years ago when it was just he and I.

CountingDown 02-05-2008 07:38 PM

Just a quick fly-by tonight. It looks like everyone is working hard and staying OP! Way to go! I don't watch tv, but I will work out tonight and try the plank for as long as I can. :)

Jen - congrats on your loss this week! AWESOME!!!!!

Busy day at work - another 2 hr delay for school because of the weather, and up to a foot of snow expected tonight. I'm thankful that I have my videos :)

Another one arrived today (yes, I am still obsessed) - Kickbox Bootcamp - (from the 10 minute solution series). I plan to use it tomorrow after work. Has anyone tried it? I just LOVE the 10 minute solution series :D

OptimistK 02-05-2008 07:55 PM

Just wanted to stick my head in and say hi since it's been awhile. Super busy over here with school and everything else.

Congrats to everyone on their progress so far.

See ya, ladies.

Andi18 02-05-2008 08:28 PM

Popping in to say hi!! I think of you all throughout the day and wish I had the time at work to check in. They've had me actually working at work... What is that about?!

Yesterday I posted a 1 pound loss. I was hoping for more as Dot is now gone but Friday night I'm sure messed me up quite a bit for Monday's weigh in!

Tonight I was hoping to go to Amy & Marty's bootcamp but we are getting a big snow storm and my hubby is not home yet :( Thursday I will be there! I'm ready to get my arse kicked in the gym, from what Marty said, it's pretty intense and a lot of people don't make it through the first one. Considering they have the TBL background I believe him! We'll see how Thursday evening goes! (just checked their website and they canceled bootcamp tonight due to the weather!)

I'm sorry for not doing personals. I just had to skim through about 5 pages of posts and now can't remember who posted what!

Off to watch Jillian talk about Calories!!

Shy Moment 02-05-2008 09:17 PM

Andi
You tell them enough is enough. They don't pay you enough for you to WORK. They only pay you enough to show up lol.

Counting
Never even heard of it. You enjoy, is so much more fun when we enjoy our workouts.

Idealmuse 02-05-2008 10:18 PM

Since it was a non-running day and I had a no loss last week I wanted to get some good exercise in today too, so I hauled up the bike from the basement and did 75mins while watching the biggest loser tonight. My butt was numb so I had to stop!

Scene - That's a great idea about the list of best food choices at the places you visit most often.

Shy Moment 02-05-2008 10:46 PM

Ideal
Nice going on the bike.

Nicoyaangel 02-06-2008 02:06 AM

I am done looking for a place! This second place rejected us also. So, I plan to take one of our fellow 3FC members advice and hit a CCCS place cause I am no longer paying credit check fees when I know its HORRIBLE PEOPLE!

Still working on the phone so I can have my own internet because this computer is always being used unless its midnight when my mom is asleep and technically I should be too.

How is everyone doing?!?!?!

Scenestealer 02-06-2008 06:54 AM

My dinner went pretty well last night. Unfortunately it was a set menu, so I only had a few choices, BUT!
1. I didn't touch the bread
2. Only one drink with dinner, then had water (most people had 4-5 drinks)
3. Salad as my app instead of the fried calamari
4. Grilled sea bass with risotto as my entree, and I only ate half
5. Bread pudding for dessert (okay, I splurged there)
But overall I did pretty well!

Tonight I KNOW I have a team dinner, so I'm adjusting for it by eating lightly all day. So much easier when I can plan for it!
