Hello teammates! Sorry I have been MIA this week. Have been crazy busy at work this week with the stock market heading down on Tuesday, then some of our systems got overloaded, and during all of this, trying to train in the new guy who sits next to me. :dizzy: Let's just say I didn't get any internet time at work this past week, but things are looking up for next week! :D
With all of the crazy stuff happening at work last week I was exhausted once I got home and didn't head out to the gym until Friday :( It is also coming up to TOM and I am always tired the week before hand. Very disappointed in myself for not going until Friday, but I needed the break I think. On Friday & Saturday I made up for it. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical. In the first 30 minutes it said I had burned over 300 calories! On Saturday I met my friend at the gym. She usually has a trainer work out with her every Saturday but he was out of town yesterday so SHE TRAINED ME! It worked out awesome as now I feel more comfortable around the weight equipment, but now I am in complete hatred of her because I am sore beyond belief!!! hahaha Nothing that a little hot tub time couldn't fix I'm sure! ;) I updated my signature with my Million Pound Match-Up site! I figured it was out there for the world to see, I might as well put it in my sig too! ;) Hope everyone is having a great weekend! |
Mel, I have to admit that I also am a huge Stephanie Plum fan!! Love me some Ranger and Morelli! I am just about to start Hot Six. They are definitely easy reads, but I feel guilty when I'm reading, I feel that I should be working out! haha
Tina ~ WOW! You were a lot nicer to the dude in the gym than I would have been! Way to keep your cool on! Cecilia ~ Glad to hear the TBL video had you feeling some burn!! Hope the neighbors weren't home below!! Cassie ~ Hope you are feeling better soon  Counting ~ Congrats on the loss!! Jasmine ~ hang in there, hopefully the #s will start dropping soon. I'm also wondering if you are getting in enough protein & calories. If I don't eat enough calories I don't lose weight. Danielle ~ That is awesome that you can go to the tour! You so should and then report back how it was!! It looks like a fun time from what they've shown on the shows. Muse ~ Congrats on the pants!! That is awesome!! I can't wait to fit into a size 16 again! haha I'm stuck at an 18 right now. |
Good Sunday Morning Red team!! I've got so much to catch up on and I'm going to try to do it today on my study breaks! So I'm not ignoring anyone I promise!
Birthday celebration is over thank goodness LOL! I was terrible yesterday with my eating. Why must our society make celebrations about food? I'm having issues with the WW scale so I dunno how I'm gonna handle it. We all know how much scales fluctuate from one to the next so just seems like for consistency we should be using the same scale from week to week. Maybe thats just me being anal I dunno. But the scale I used last week was exactly the same as my one at home, this weeks weigh in there is about 2 lbs difference and not in my favor! LOL! Okay, time to start a load of laundry and hit the books! Oh almost forgot to tell you that I completed week 1 of the c25k program! I did it! Next week has me totally intimidated but I'm gonna do it! Have a great sunday everyone!! |
Andi...oh #5 was on of my favorites because of the ending!! Who was at the door..so exciting! I think #10 is my other favorite. I've got a homework question maybe you can help me with. But I think I'll PM it to you! Way to go on the exercise lady!! You are doing great! I'll be checking out you MPMU!
Barbara...sounds to me like you are doing GREAT!! Being mindful of what we are putting in our mouth is the key to success if you ask me!! Way to go!! Muse...you are shrinking!!!! Way to go !! I cannot wait to be out of the 20s sizes!! Excellent job on your run even with healing an injury, you are kicking butt and taking names!! Great job! Danielle...how'd the WI go? And did you get down the TBL tour? I wish I could go just to see what they are doing! I'll have to live vicariously through you! LOL!! Laura...cant wait to hear how your race went!! That'll burn off those extra calories for sure!! I'm really glad to see that you didnt let a slip up bring you down! buddahbelly...my scale fluctuates like that too, I just have to learn to get on it once and only once and wait again till next week to check it. It can be very frustrating. But you've gotta remember its just a hunk of metal, it does not control you! Scales are for fish!! OptimistK....WOOOHOOO on that workout! My goodness!! The gym definetly agrees with you doesnt it!! Way to go and keep up the great work! Jasmine...I'm with you on the disappointment part of this year. I was expecting that dramatic drop as well but the important thing is we are still losing! And slower is better and healthier anyway. You know you are doing right and good things for your body and it IS responding. May not be as fast as we'd like but it is still response! You can do this!! Keep on fighting the good fight!! In the end success will be yours! Counting...WOOOHOO!!! Setting yourself up for success by getting rid of those fat clothes too!! Excellent job!! What an inspiration you are!! Keep up the great work! I think its great to reward yourself like you do, break that reward with food cycle! Emily...I hope you had a wonderful visit with your skinny friend LOL! Way to go on another pound gone for good!! keep it up girl!! Success looks fantastic on you!! |
Rennie...how's that shoe search going? find anything thats gonna work out yet? I hope your hamstring heals quickly. I dont think I've ever pulled a hammy before but I hear its terrible and so slow to heal! Just dont push it too hard!
Melissa73...We do rock! LOL!! Dont worry about keeping up just jump in where you can, the important thing is that we hear from you! Keep up the great work!! Cassie...hun are ya feeling any better? I hope so! Just take good care of yourself and get well! Fluids and rest and dont try to push it before your body is ready! Feel better!! |
Cathy....ahh the house to yourself...I want some! LOL! That and no homework so I could do nothing but get things organized! Not that it does me any good LOL!
LadyZ...Way to go!!!! You broke the 150s!! Excellent news!! I hope you have a lovely time away! keep up the good work! Yay...all caught up! LOL!! NOW I'm gonna go do laundry and homework! LOL! |
Don't forget!! Week 2 weigh in is due tomorrow, Monday 11:59pm EST!!

Went ahead and weighed in. Lost 1.5 pounds. Yeah me. I only have one more pound to go to hit my personal goal this month.
I have been walking with my kids almost everyday to get a mile in. We are preparing for a kids marathon. So at the end of the marathon they will have walked 26.2 miles. They will only actually walk 1.2 miles at the kids marathon. We are having so much fun. (cont. down the page) HuneB: Well, after hearing you talk about the Couch25k, I went and looked it up. I need something for my kids (and me). Well, the kids suggestions I thought were harder than the couch25k, so this is what we will do. If this does not work, then we were measuring between mail boxes. We are going to do what works for us. After I get off of this board, I am going to re-visit the Couch25k site. I didn't spend a whole lot of time looking, because I spent too much time seeing about kids running sites. But I think the Couch25k may be more appropriate for us. We are going to keep track of mileage and everytime we complete a marathon (26.2 miles), we will do something special together. I am really excited about doing this. I want my family to be that healthy family that is outdoors hiking, etc. Not the people inside because we are too tired to going biking, hiking, etc. (or too lazy). I'll keep you posted. Have a great day everyone. |
mom23bc....way to go on your loss!! Thats great news! My dd is doing the c25k with me when she can. She only did 2 of the 3 days last week but she wants to do more. I'm with you, I think it would be so fun to run a 5K race with her! You are setting your kids up for a lifetime of success!! That is very admirable!
|
Okay so I've had a bad three days. Just hungry and I keep eating and eating. Not really bad things just too much.could use some words of wisdom.
|
Ah, the bottomless pit! I hate those day! My suggestion would be to up your protein and rich fiberous foods. Protein fills you up and keeps you feeling full longer, same with the fiber foods, although for me fiber works better. And make sure you are well hydrated.
Beyond the science I would say to find something to keep yourself busy. When your hands and mind is busy then you arent doing that mindless eating we are all guilty of. And finally, do NOT beat yourself up about things. We all have these kids of days. The important thing is we work on making better choices and working through them. Journaling is a great idea! When you feel like eating and you know you shouldn't be hungry yet, grab a bottle of water and go for a little walk. You had an extremely successful week last week! I know you can have another! You can do it!! Strong vibes comin your way! |

bbybear - I agree with Melissa.Fiber, lots of veggies, and protein work for me. I also like hot tea (herbals). The tea helps fill me and the aroma is soothing and makes me feel good without calories.
When I am in that munch monster mode, I try to get out of the house and go somewhere where there isn't food. A walk in the park, to the library, work in the garden - whatever works. You CAN do this - keep us posted on how you are doing! OK, BIG NSV for me today. I decided it was time to dust off my X country skis and take them for a spin. They had not seen the light of day for 7 years. We did 2.5 miles (about 75 minutes) for our first outing. DH had a hard time keeping up at first - he said that I was flying :D I hope everyone else has/had a great Sunday! I just KNOW we did well this week as a team! |
I saw 199 again today so I figured I better use today as my weigh in day :)

I am SOOOO glad I went today!!!
Hi girls! Just got back from The Biggest Loser tour thingy here. I had the best time ever! I got to meet Bill and Hollie and talk with them for a couple minutes. They were giving away either the new Cardio Max dvd or the fitness book--I chose the book since I have the dvd already. They autographed it and then you got your picture taken with them. I've gotta tell you guys, Bill is absolutely gorgeous in person! LOL And Hollie, omg, simply beautiful! They gave me pointers about sticking with it and making this about ME. I could've stood there and yapped at 'em all day long! While we were all standing in line, who but appears..... Betty-Sue! She looks fabulous and is exactly how she is on tv, rambunctious and feisty as ever. She was very gracious and really made the rounds with the crowd. Later on down the pathway they had a place to take a "before" photo to sign up with for the Million Pound Match-Up and they had fitness trainers and nutritionists there as well. I asked Betty-Sue how her daughter was and she said she was awesome and looked amazing, said we wont believe it when we see her. Now I really can't wait for the finale! LOL All-in-all it was an amazing experience. I've never met or known anyone who's lost that amount of weight before and to see them right before me just hit it home that yes *I* can do this! Has to be without a doubt, the best 3 hours I've ever spent! :) Pictures should be ready in about 72hours, when I get 'em then I'll post them to our million pound match-up page for all to see. Melissa, so glad you had a great birthday day with J! I dunno what to tell you about the scale thing either. I'm in a bit of a dilemma myself. Weighed myself at the meet up today at the mall and that scale has me up 10 freakin pounds! LOL Andi, love your page! You are definitely getting in some good workouts w/ your friend, keep up the good work! It will all be so worth it in the end! Countingdown, omg you went skiing!!! How awesome is that! So glad you had such a great time. bbybear, the girls gave you great advice, exactly what I would do. You'll be amazed how much the fiber and protein fill you up! Good luck, I know you can get thru this! Mom23bc, good luck with the C25K. What a great way to spend some time with your kids!!! Muse, congrat's on the 16's! That must feel SO good! Woo hoo!! |
