Okay so I did something I NEVER EVER do! I went to the mall today and I bought myself new clothes and shoes!! Yes, i actually spent money on fat clothes for ME! LOL! Those of you who dont know me yet...I'm the worlds biggest cheapskate, I only buy when I absolutely have to because I figure its a waste of money since I'm gonna be losing weight right? I found some good bargains so I can feel pretty!
Alright I've got to get dinner rolling before my dd gnaws my arm off! |
Just swinging in to say HI and celebrate staying POP since the challenge started. :cheer:
I hope to put up a couple pounds in our LOSS column at the first weigh-in. Have a good night! ~Nicole |
Hi Nicole!! Way to go!! You are doing great and it'll result in very good things both for you and your team!! Keep it up!!
|
Guess I should answer my own question: While it would be VERY tempting to take the deal I dont think I could give up chinese...I'm a slave to the food! LOL!! I'm not at that point yet where its about the journey and about being proud of a job well done but I know I can get there! And you guys are such an amazing inspiration to help me see beyond just being thinner!

Hi Ladies!
Hope you all had a great day. Just spent some time reading all the bios and getting to know you all.. I'm so excited about being a part of this group. Just wanted to say we can do this, we have each other...go red team! Have a great evening all! |
Melissa, I totally relate to your post about shopping! I HATE spending money on clothes at these "larger" sizes. However, I really think you did the right thing. I have been rewarding myself with nice clothes as I go along. It has really helped me, I think. When I feel good in my clothes, I do better at staying POP. I have been trying to do other small things too - keep my nails done, I even got my first pedicure over Christmas break. My rewards for staying OP have been appearance and comfort related. Hair cut more often and trying a new style, 2nd hand clothing shopping (lots of great finds here), a new perfume or lotion, new teas or candles, anything that makes me look good or pampers me. It is one of the small changes that I have made, that I think has really made a difference :)

Counting...taking care of me is something I am really going to try harder to do. Its normally all about dh and the kids and I got in rags...well not rags but you get it. Haircuts and all that stuff its the kids first and I go forever HATING my hair, but I'm gonna change that!! I think it'll make a big difference too!!

Those are really good ideas ladies. I have been trying to think of rewards other than food and I think some pampering or a new clothing item are great ideas! Heck even new exercise equipment would butter my toast! I want a new resistance ball since the kitties killed my last one and a medicine ball. :)

Counting, thanks for the recommendations! I'm headed to Half.com to see if I can find those cheap :) I know they're dancing videos, but do they take a lot of space? My bedroom is kind of small, but I prefer doing videos in there to doing them in the living room where my roommates come in and out and probably chuckle at me ;)
Jen, good luck with the antibiotics - hopefully those will do the trick. I love Ben & Jerry's too, and am happy that their light flavors are still really tasty, don't have chemicals/fake sugar, and yet are still under 200 cals/serving. That's a doable treat for me if I budget for it the rest of the day! Melissa, 90 cals/serving would be great - which yogurts are that low? I don't really care about fat that much because I tend to eat a low-fat diet anyway, and most of the fat in dairy is considered "good fat." Silly question: I know OP is on plan, but what is POP? Haven't seen that one before. Perfectly on plan? |
Laura, you should be able to find them at half.com. That is where I bought them :)
Not a lot of space. My living room is sectioned off. I actually have about 5' by 10' for my videos. I do WATP and the dance videos in that space. I think you will be ok. Diva - I'm considering a stability ball - do you have a DVD workout for it? Or are you just following a routine? Tell me more? And are the cats really a danger? My cats have seriously deformed my yoga blocks and wedge. |
Hi everyone
I just finished reading this thread. WOW!! lol I see we have a Cat and a Cathy here so I dont know what we should call me. I go by Cat and or Cathy so... lol.... I am very excited about this challenge. I started LAWL in August and I am pleased with my results so far. I still have a ways to go but it is looking closer then it ever has before. I will try to post here everyday so I can get to know more of you and that you can get to know me as well. I live in Canada and I have 2 children. A 16 yr old daughter and a 13 yr old son. I work in retail and let me tell you's I am glad the Holidays are done lol... I work in a kid's toy store so we were some busy. My answer to the question of the day: I wouldnt take the dream cause I would feel cheated. We all know things like this takes hard work and some limitations so by doing it and seeing how we have to eat healthier and exercise we wont ever be where we were before. I buy yogurt that is 35 calories per serving. It is sweetened with splenda. And it is my savior. I feel like I am cheating with it cause it is soooo goooood... Well I guess I shall go to bed now cause I have to go weigh in the morning before work. I hope you all have a good night. See you's tomorrow. Cathy from Canada |

I have found my ball to be my BEST piece of equiptment for ab workouts. I never deflated it because it's such a pain so I kept it in my son's closet, where I put a lot of stuff. One morning I opened the door to get something and didn't realize that Bonkers The Cat got in. well I shut him up and when my son opened the door, my ball was dead. :( O'well. Another will be here Friday, lol! G'nite ladies! |
Okay everyone so I went and had like a fitness anaylsis thing done and found out that I only have about 35 percent body fat and that the rest of me is lean body mass that I have way to much of that I need to lose. That means to get down to where I want to be I have to workout really hard on my cardio and get my heart rate to be about 175 so I can burn my lean body mass also. I was really surprised to find that out. I only have about 45 pounds of actual fat to lose and then if I want to be "skinny" I am going to need to lose some lean body mass as well. I just thought that was very interesting and thought that I would share it with my teammates! Well need to let my sister use the comp so I will catch up on posts later!
