Good morning, I agree with Shay 1000 calories is not enough. I would suggest maybe starting with a 1400-1600 calorie range. Try it for a few weeks, if you are losing at that stay in that range, if thats not working lower it a bit. Like Shay said you go too low and your body will go in survival mode and you won't lose anything. I'm a calorie counter, and try and stick to the 1400-1600 calorie range, some days I am above goal and sometimes I'm below, but I look at the weeks average to determine if I'm on track.

Menu:

Breakfast: Go Lean Hot Cereal and 1 cup of milk
Snack: WW Amaretto Yogurt with 1/4 cup bran buds
Lunch: Smart Ones Santa Fe Beans and Rice
Snack: HoneyCrisp Apple
Supper: Going out to eat

Everyone Have a great day

Bridgette.

Good morning girls. :)

Very rarely do I actually make the 1000 mark. Usually it's between 1300 to 1550. If I go any higher than 1600 I do not lose weight, plus I have to exercise at least 30 minutes a day for anything to melt away. It's very hard for me to lose due to the med's I have to take for asthma & diabetes. For the past 4 days I have kept it to 1370 to 1550, and I reduced my carbs by half and surprisingly enuff, I have dropped 3 poiunds since Monday. :carrot:
I know I shouldn't weigh myself more than once a week, it's a problem for me, lol! But I was feeling lighter so I did it. :) I'm not going to log it into the Weight thread until Monday tho cuz maybe I'll lose more by then...Finger's crossed.

Good Morning lovelies!! Well after 2 weeks of not working towards my goals and not working for my team I'm back! Just had the best breakfast of scrambled eggs, lil cheese and some ham...oh so yummy! And my Chocolate Velvet coffee. Feels good! Through all the chocolate and stuff I shouldnt be eating I managed to maintain...how? I dunno but I'll take it!! Hopefully I'll be able to post a loss come monday though. I am back in control!

Gonna figure in a couple of trips to the gym this weekend too. I've got a big tax exam on tuesday so thats ALL I'm gonna do from now till I go take the exam so I think a couple workouts in there will bring some stress release.

So here's the menu for today then I need to go see how everyone is doing

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, coffee w/ cream & Splenda
Lunch: hamburger w/ lettuce, pickles and tomato (no bun)
Dinner: Chicken alfredo w/ broccoli
Snacks: probably some pepperonis with articoke/jalapeno dip, bonbel cheese, hard boiled egg

=24 carbs if I have all the snacks

Have a wonderful day Red team!!

Hey Red Team!

Need to ask you all a huge favor.... I'm not sure if you've seen the Survey that's stickied at the top of this forum, but its for a project I'm doing at school. I still need about 15 people to respond before Sunday night.

If you haven't had a chance to fill it out and pm it to me pretty please do so before November 4th!

Thanks! ;)

Muse...you are making healthy habits like walking such a part of your life you dont even count them as exercise anymore! LOL!! Good for you!! Cant wait to hear how your show went!! Good luck!

Justgetitdone...good to see you! I wish you wouldnt lurk and would jump in with your team! I dont think that you so much need to cut down on your carbs, unless you are doing low carb if anything you need to add some more good carbs like veggies and whole grains. Your calories are pretty low.

Diva...I do 20-25 carbs, its been pretty easy for me (I'll put my menu in fitday as soon as I'm done posting and let you know what I end up with today). You just gotta stay out of the middle aisles in the store. Shop around the perimeter in the dairy, meat and veggies. Thats where you find the low carb stuff. In my opinion you cant do lowcarb the right way looking for processed foods. But, low carb isnt for everyone you gotta find what fits you and your life. Way to go on being down 3!!! See something is already working for ya! I have a TERRIBLE habit of weighing myself daily. Maybe we should do a challenge to see who can go all week without getting on it! LOL!

Shay you are absolutely right 1000 calories is WAY too low. I think even 1200 is pretty darn low and when I did that I was STARVED all day which let to overeating. Its hard for people to remember that you HAVE to eat to lose weight. Its a hard concept to grasp. Your menu looks great btw! Oh veggie burgurs, when I did Fat Smash I found some Morning Star ones that were so good! I could eat those puppies like snacks. Very tasty.

Bridgette...I totally forgot to copy you and think about my monthly goals! Menu looks fantastic today! Amaretto yogurt..YUM!! I dont think I've ever seen that around here!

Okay time for me to hit the books!

LMAO! THAT there sounds like a plan! It is SOOOOOO hard for me not weigh myself everyday, but I usually end up discouraged. I did better this week. I haven't gotten on since Monday until this morning...that's something, lol!

I did buy lots of veggies, cheese, eggs, meats, Salad, and some protein snacks and those lil' 100 calorie packs. I really do wanna cut the carbs as much as possible, but there will be some day's that are higher than others. So far so good, and I haven't really felt hungry. I had tons of energy this moring during my workout out and threw in some arms and chest exercises w/the weights. This is a good thing because me and energy usually do not go together. :) My arms are shaking I worked them so hard. I can't believe I lost 3 lbs. We even had Speghetti last night. But instead of a big ole' plate like I normally do, I got the whole wheat pasta, and only had 1 cup, with a lil' sauce, and a cup of veggies. It was lish. :)

Today I did:

WATP 2 miles (Jogged during the marching parts)
5 minutes abs
10 minutes or so on Arms and chest

Menu:

B-2 egg & Cheese omelette
3 sausage links
coffee- Splenda and cream

L- Salad w/Chicken & Ranch

S- Protein Bar (peanut butter)

D- Fish & Veggies

LeedaRenee 11-02-2007 01:25 PM

Hmm, I would fail that challenge. lol. Weighing myself everyday is a part of my weight loss plan...at least for now.

Very stressed out right now...will write more later, just checking in.

Shay 11-02-2007 01:29 PM

Diva--Congrats on 3lbs. I'm an everyday weigher myself. I really think its okay if you don't let the ups & downs throughout the week to get to you.

Melissa--I love Morning Star and Boca veggie stuff. My BF is in love with Morning Star's breakfast sausage links. Many of their things are 1pt so that definitely works for me for WW. I would so fail the not getting on the scale for a week challenge. I would go crazy!

Hun.e.B 11-02-2007 01:44 PM

Diva there are tons of products out there like that. None of them interest me because lowcarb is not something I could do as a lifestyle. And I dont think its healthy long term either. I keep it plain and simple for induction and then I'm gonna be adding back whole foods. My goal in doing it this way is simply to cut out sugar and processed foods (ie: flours). I think there are even healthier ways of detoxing they just dont work for me, this one does so I'll stick to it.

I do however want to get some liquid "splenda" its pricey! I'm too chicken to try Stevia because I hear so much about aftertaste and bitterness.

Hun.e.B 11-02-2007 01:45 PM

Leeda...I'm sorry you are stressed! If you need to vent go for it!!

~melissa

Idealmuse 11-02-2007 05:44 PM

1000-1200 is definitely hard to do long term and not so great for the body, I have to admit I'm biased though because the last time I did that I had gallbladder stones and oh my those hurt like nothing else. Don't want a repeat of that no thank you... which is why I'm willing to work my *** off 6 days a week so I can eat more like 1600-1700 a day.

115 carbs really is pretty moderate unless you have a serious carb issue or are on strict Atkins I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as they are the healthier carbs and not say snickers bars. At 1000 calories ALL of your food has to be nutritious. With more calories you have more flexibility for treats.

Hun.e.B 11-02-2007 08:32 PM

Muse...I've had those gallstones myself and I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy..well maybe my MIL..JK! LOL! But I got mine after doing very lowcal too. No thank you!

We've got 2 extra 12 year olds tonight...jealous arent you! UGH!! That and my 8 year old cant seem to stop crying, she's too young to be putting me through this hormonal crap!! gonna be a long night can ya tell LOL!

Have a wonderful night everyone!

just get it done 11-02-2007 10:50 PM

Hi, All

According to fitday I came in at 735 calories today , 38 fat, 66 carb, and 32 protein. I feel as though I have eatten all day.

breafast : 1 98% klondike slim a bear icecream and coffee (black)

lunch: 2 egg omlett with 1/4 cup of cheese, onions and peppers

dinner: a oven roasted turkey breast sandwich on heiners 35 calorie bread, 1 slice of 2% american cheese, onion, tomatoe and mustard.

snack: 2 little debbie marshmellow cakes.

I know not the best nutritional values lol but it was what i was craving and it filled me up so....

For anyone who hasn't tried the klondike slim a bears they are delicious and only 100 calories.

Hun e.b. Thanks, I will try to post more. I'm not really trying to be low on calories its just all that I wanted for the day. I would like to lower my carbs though. Isn't gallstones caused by calcium, thats what I have always heard lol.

Diva: We must be a lot alike lol. I read your posts and its like I could have written them lol Good job on the weight loss:carrot: I'm waiting till monday to weight. just because I'm chicken to do it now lol

I love reading everyones menus. I think thats why I was craving eggs today. lol I also picked up some boco burgers while I was at the store today I love the flame grilled ones. I had totally forgetten how good these were.

Idealmuse 11-03-2007 12:46 AM

Gallstones are more about a super-lowfat diet. Normally low-fat alone is fine because you're taking in enough calories that you usually get enough fat to get the gallbladder used. If the Bile just sits there unused it forms the stones.

Many people on VLC diets can get gallstones if they are prone to it and their fat intake is low. This is one of the reasons I convinced myself that upping healthy fats to 20-25 percent is OK. I know that's still low but I have borderline cholesterol so I worry about adding too much in.

The "Attacks" ironically are brought on by high-fat meals. Because it kicks the gallbladder into action and those stones get stuck and that's what causes the awful pain. People tell me it's like childbirth. Mine was so bad one day we went to the ER I could barely move.

So yeah no more low calorie for me.

Just - You really don't want to go under 1000 calories even if your not hungry. One or two days won't hurt, but you'll slow your metabolism if it becomes habit, and make things harder for yourself in the long run. If your not hungry try some natural PB on an apple/celery/wholegraintoast. PB is good for you (healthy fats) and you can knock up a few extra hundred calories.. or nuts even. Pick something you don't have issues with. High density calories won't fill you up so you won't feel stuffed. We just want to see you succeed is all. Sorry if I'm out of line at all.
