Muse-Excellent job on reaching 500. I'm hoping to be there at the finish line with ya tonight.

Shay 10-01-2007 11:45 AM

Thanks Ann for the support.

The verdict....sprained ligament in my right foot. I hope I'm saying that right. As soon as he said nothing was broken I lost focus. So I'm home staying off my foot as much as I can and tomorrow we shall see. I have two sets of steps to negotiate at work so that is my hesitation.

Sugar-N-Spice 10-01-2007 12:13 PM

likenoother, congratz on the 3!! :cb: That is so great! I'm sorry to hear about the foot tho, hope it doesn't derail you at all for your plans with the c25k thing. Get rest and dont walk on it too much!

Muse, WTG on reaching that 500! That is absolutely awesome and definitely no need to apologize! That was the whole point of this challenge, to motivate us to move our butts! :D

Bridgette, well I think it's great you stayed the same. No gain at least, right? You'll have to fill us in on the veggie dogs, not something I think I'd go for that's for sure! They're not a funky color like veggie patties are they? ;)

Mercee, 1 pound is fabulous! :carrot: It IS a loss and that's all that matters!

Tera, I hope you're over your salad trauma? ;) I know its frustrating when you think you're getting one thing and get something so totally different. I think you should've just enjoyed the salad completely cheese & all but that's just me and my crazy thinkin'! Now you know to tell 'em NO cheese!

Ladies, have a fabulous Monday and keep those exercise minutes rolling!

Hun.e.B 10-01-2007 12:46 PM

Hope the BD was good Law!

Like - Oh no! Well I'm glad it's nothing more serious... but I know how much an injury like that can throw you off balance. Make sure you take good care of yourself!

Hun - Mine is recorded. It will always be in early afternoon on Mondays. (edit to add) And I reached 50lbs loss this week (52!) which means 2 things...

1) That big 50 milestone which I've NEVER passed before. I've only lost as much as 50 once before.
2) I'm 1/3 of the way there! Yeay!

I do have you marked to be an afternoon weigher, its just a reminder for me who I'm still looking for!!

Way to go on the loss though!! 50lbs is FANTASTIC!! I cannot wait to be able to say that! LOL...heck I'm looking forward to being able to say 20 lbs gone!! You are doing GREAT!!! Keep it up!

CONGRATULATIONS MUSE!!!!!! That is so fantastic!

I posted my weight Melissa, sorry it was late.

I'm also sorry I haven't been around. I've just been doing so bad. A few more calories here, a little less exercising there and all of a sudden I'm up 7 pounds since July...

Before I was complaining how there was NO difference between 175 and 165 and why should I waste my time if you can't tell the difference. Well let me tell you!!!! Five pounds lost over he course of 3 months not noticable, but five pounds gained in the course of two months is VERY noticeable!

I'm starting to try really hard! I hope to be more of a fixture here, it's helped me so much in the past. I went running this morning and ate pretty clean so that's a good start.

cmbmom05 10-01-2007 08:15 PM

Hi ladies, I am still around. Don't have time to reaed now as I have to get DS into bed but I will say that I need to get my bum on track with the eating. Exercise hasn't been so great ut I haven't eaten less t make up for it so the scale isn't budging. I did notice that since I've walked less, I can fall asleep faster. Now isn't that assbackward? LOL. It's very messed up.

Like- I did see your post about the foot injury. Don't mind the finger wagging BUT if the Dr says to stay off it and take it easy, listen to him/her! ;) My mom didn't and it's taken her longer to heal frm her foot injury. (not a sprain but I can't remember what it is right now) Hope you recover quickly.

Ideal - I saw your post about the 50lb loss. WTG woman! :carrot:

Hun.e.B 10-01-2007 08:50 PM

Okay ladies just thought I'd let you in on a little observation. Please do not take this personally or as a lecture. Its just simply something for you to think about.

I keep track of who posts once a week. And I keep track of weigh ins. There is a correlation between people who dont post on a regular basis and gains.

You can observe this yourself. Notice when we havent heard from a teammate for awhile when they do come back its usually to report they havent been doing very well. Now there are of course acceptions to the rule. But this is my 3rd round of this challenge, and i've seen it every single round, I'm guilty of it myself.

So what can all this mean? Well, you joined the challenge for a reason. What was your reason? Mine was to get and give support. I'm telling you now...that support can make all the difference in the world between failure and success. Everyone has slipups....EVERYONE does! The difference is, when you are active with a support group, those slipups are much smaller, they have less chance of turn into week long slipups. You are much more apt to get right back on the wagon and keep on chugging when you've got a whole group of people who KNOW exactly what you are going through telling you YOU CAN DO IT!!

You get out of a support group what you put into it. So when you slip up...tell someone! Tell your TEAM! its what we are here for! And team..when someone says they are slipping give them a boost in the right direction. Let them know that you are not going to give up on them. When you see someone lost...tell them how it makes you feel when YOU lose! Share in the excitement its only going to give you that much more power to beat this weightloss game.

If everyone makes an effort to say something supportive to just one other person you'd be amazed at the energy that the entire team can draw off of it. It makes people WANT to come back here and post and see how everyone is doing. and the more people want to come back the less they are going to struggle and the more success our team is going to have!

Remember the old saying....you are only as strong as your weakest link? Well that kind of applies here too! So lets ALL be strong...together!

We can do this RED TEAM!! We can ALL be the biggest losers!!

Okay...I'm done! LOL!! Back to my tax books! Have a great night everyone!

~melissa

Hey Ladies! Down 1 lb, woohoo! Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Hopefully this week will be better with no cake around. Believe it or not, I got TWO cakes! Apparently there was some confusion about who was going to make it. I did throw one away and my SO got all mad at me. He has a really hard time wasting food. But I say it'll either go to waste in the trash or on my body. I think he's trying to be supportive, but he does sometimes have trouble with the lack of junk food in the house.

Someone asked about the Jillian exercise DVDs. I've done the Shape Up front and back so far and I'm going to do the cardio kickbox when I get done posting here. I think they're pretty good, but I'm also really out of shape right now. I don't know how good they'd be for someone who exercises a lot already. Jillian has one person doing beginner level and 3 others doing regular, which keeps you motivated to improve, but it's not so hard that you just quit. She cycles through several exercises and then you do them again. So it's easy to follow along the first few times. No dance-y aerobic stuff, which is good for me because I'm totally uncoordinated. There's a lot of jumping and lunges, which are hard for me to really do properly because of knee problems. She only uses handweights and a step. I don't have a step and I can still follow along.

Whoa, sorry that got so long!

Melissa - Thanks for keeping us motivated! Good luck with the tax, that stuff is soooo not fun!

dream710 10-02-2007 02:03 AM

I made it to 500...yeah!!!! Not only that but I ran for 25 minutes straight...which I think is awesome...

Danielle- The veggie dogs were good, the texture and color is about the same, they smell a little funny after cooking but taste pretty good. I could definitely eat them instead of the high fat hotdogs I'm used to (they only have .5g fat per dog:D).

Muse-great job on the 52lbs..You're an inspiration to us all. :carrot:

AmberD-Its good to see you're back on track. Just take it one day at a time and you'll be back in the swing of things.

Melissa, I hear what you're saying and it's so true...I'm as guilty as the next guy or should I say girl, when things start going down hill I shy away from checking in and that's not what I want out of this challenge. It's not only about losing weight, it's about having someone who is going thru the same struggles as me, who understands when you just can't say no to that bag of gardettos calling your name from the vending machine. To have someone to pick me up when I fall and tell me to start again, is just the motivation I need. The support and encouragement I get from the RED TEAM is just amazing. I've been a member of 3FC since the middle of July and have lost 22lbs and 12 inches(pretty good right), and I can say that I've only had two people in my everyday life comment on how much better I look. Its your comments and the encouragment you guys give that help me be ok with only two people noticing, cuz I know that I'm working hard and I've got our team to give me that extra little push when needed. So thank you for all you do!( I stop rambling now).

Bridgette.

I know what you mean. I could lose 20 pounds and no one notice, yet, when I gain 5-10 pounds, then people start to notice. It's worse especially when I worked at a job that required a uniform and the pants had gotten way too snug over a 5 pound gain.
