Girls...I am EX HAUS TED!! And a lil sunburned! But, as tired and sore as I'm feeling right now it also feels great to know I could stay at the head of the pack all day long.
Its such a beautiful spring evening, we are going to do steaks on the grill. Normally I'd love a nice baked potato loaded with butter and sour creme but I'm going to skip it tonight. No sense finishing off a great day of exercise with a bunch of fat right? Plus tomorrow is weigh in day for me! I hope everyone had a great Friday! ~melissa |
Hi everyone!
Tomorrow is WI for me too, and I'm afraid I'll gain back my losses for the week because it's almost TOM for me...T-minus two days according to my calculations. I'm drinking lots of hot lemon water to counter act the evil water retention action that's usually a part of this event. I'm going to be super careful with my food choices this weekend too. I really want to have a great first WI for our group. |

The beginning of another weekend of driving the kids around -- I wish I had as exciting a life as they do! I started reading a book on Intuitive Eating this week and it's working great -- I think I'll be back down to my "starting weight" and then some on weigh in Monday, which will be a great boast to me esteem!! Hope everyone has an amazing weekend, gets to do something fun and finds a few minutes to themselves!! |
Good Saturday Morning Red Team!!
Angie....At least you know if the numbers do move up that its just TOM, you've been doing GREAT!! Dont stress it, we know you are working hard for yourself and the team!! Ann....you know what else is really good is to put salsa on a baked potato. I never thought I'd like it but its actually really good. Not quite the same but a good and healthy alternative. Shelby...those kids and their social lives! LOL! I'm glad you are enjoying your book. That is the same book a friend of mine was telling me about that she really liked. |
Its the end of week 1! I think i did pretty well this week. Not perfect but I wasnt aiming for perfect either. I'm down 4.6 lbs. I'll take it!! I'm really going to work on making even better choices this coming week. Mainly cutting out the little filler stuff I just dont need.
I'd also like to pick up the exercise this week. Its my last week of classes then finals week so the exercise will be great for the mind as well! I'm going to start a new thread for our RED WINS challenge which will run for Week 2, starting tomorrow 4/29 and running through saturday 5/5.....Cinco de Mayo!!! LOL! Dont forget to also get your Week 1 weights posted! You've got till Monday night! I'm off to do the yard work!! Have a wonderful saturday Team!! ~melissa |
Okay....after my little computer freakout I actually got 2 threads started for the RED WINS challenge. But, I've asked the moderators to remove the wrong one! Sorry for the confusion!

Good Morning Red Team!!!!
My name's Danielle, getting a late start over here, but It looks like all you ladies have had an awesome week so far! Not to mention all the great support going on over here, I am impressed! I am so glad to be here with you all! Let's see, a lil' about me: I'm a 37y/o mom of 3, married forever and living in AZ. I just quit a job working graveyards which I am esctatic to have left! I worked it for about 7+ months and it left me exhausted, depressed, and totally unable to work on my weight loss. Seriously, what normal person eats at 2am! LOL There I was tho', eating at midnight on break, eating again at lunch (2am) and then again at 4am for our last break! I was on my feet the entire 8 hours I worked but lets be honest, it wasn't nearly enough to get rid of alot of those calories I was eating during breaks. I am SO relieved to be gone from there so I can really focus on losing the weight! I guess I should tell ya'll, I do have an eating disorder, something I've been in therapy for (helped tremendously) and I've done alot of reading and research on my own to help myself. I know that this is something that will be a constant in my life, probably forever, but I am not willing to accept that I have to be heavy forever. I've dropped 80 pounds a few years back(unfortunately I found them again. :dizzy:) so I know that I'm capable of being disciplined and in control. It's all the little bits of things I've learned about nutrition and exercise, and about my own body, that will help me keep it off for good this time. I can't wait! Deep down I know there's a DIVA waiting to get out! lol Now that I've yapped on too long, I will head into the kitchen and see what I come up with for breakfast! I cannot wait to get to know you all and cheer you on to success. You're all fabulous! |
Melissa -- Thanks for the vote of confidence. I was up 1.8lbs this morning at my WI, but I plan on doing an emergency Take Off (part of LAWL) which really is just meat, veggies and some juice for the weekend. So I'm no-carbing (and no dairy) it for the next two days. Hey, WTG on your loss though! 4.6 lbs is amazing, you should feel proud of yourself.
Hi Danielle! Congratuations on recommitting to yourself and your goals. You're right, you did it once and you can do it again. |
Hi Dani!!!! Its about time woman! (For those of you who dont know, Danielle is probably my best friend in the whole world, we've been doing this weightloss thing together for many many years.) I'm so excited for you! I just know that with the Red team standing behind you cheering you on, and getting back to that regular schedule you are going to do GREAT!!!
Angie....aw that darn AF!!! I'm sorry! But hey, you know what its from and you are taking the bull by the horns and showing her who is boss!! Good for you!! Good luck this weekend! I know you can do it!! |
Angie, don't sweat it. You and I are in the same boat in regards to AF wreaking havoc with our losses this week! I am up .5. Keep up the great work, you're doing fab!!!

Melissa, WTG on the loss this week woman!! :cheer: That's awesome!!! All that walking and good eating has done lots for you this week. Keep it up sweets!
Shelby, I've read the IE book. Loved it! I find myself in a quandry as to following such an idea or really buckling down and trying to follow a certain plan. Most days I do try and go with IE tho, as the rebelious side of me fights the counting and measuring side of things. Makes things mentally go so much smoother! ;) Good luck to you! |
Thanks Danielle! Feels good to see the numbers go in the right direction! Now to really fine tune things and I'll be cruising!!

Hi there ladies,
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Min has been low key so far. I had a Dr. appointment this morning, and I was happy that their scale only had me 2lbs over what I weigh at home. My dr. was impressed especially since it's only been about 8-10 weeks since I last saw her. I also saw an old friend who commented on my weightloss. I love those days. Makes up for the non losses and keep me going. I managed to get a great walk in this morning. I am going to start doing some conditioning this week as well as situps on the ball. When I weighed yesterday I hadn't dropped anything, but after today's workout I was down 6 oz. but I am going to say 1 lb cuz the sacle read 177. Hopefully by monday it will be a solid 177. Melissa-you are such a great leader. Congrats on the loss this week. That's fantastic. Good luck on studying for those finals. I know how that is. Danielle-Welcome. Sounds like your mind is in the right place for getting the weight off. Remeber you've got all of us here cheering you on. Angie-Don't worry about the gain. Sounds like you're going to that scale moving over the weekend. Shelby-Let us know how the intuitive eating thing works. Sounds interesting. I am getting ready to get my menu ready for the week. My biggest problem is good snacks. Well i hope everyone has a good weekend and Starts their RED WINS tomoorw. I am looking forward to it. Love |
