Red Team Food Thread
Here we are, ladies. Here we can post what we are eating and learn to make better choices.
I am doing Weight Watchers. I have been struggling with junk. I have found some great junky foods that are low in points. Yesterday, I ate 4 fudgesciles, 1 ice cream sandwich, 1 bag of popcorn and 1 pack of cookies. Nothing was over 2 points and I stayed with my points for the day. However, since it was all junky food, I wasn't satsified and eat and eat and eat. I felt like I had a major case of the munchies. Today's goal....Eat more protein, and less junk....only one junk item a day in the eveing while I am watching tv. Here is today's food thus far. Breakfast (2) Oat bran banana muffins--4 points (1)Light vanilla yogurt--2 points Lunch (1) mulit-grain light english muffin--1 point (1) egg fried in 1 tsp healthy oil--3 points (1) slice of low fat cheese--1 point (1) slice canadain bacon--1 point (2) dill pickles--0 points (1) banana--2 points Total of 14 points. Daily points allowance 30 but 35 weekly flex points. Already off to a much better day. I usually have Lean Cuisine Pizza and pudding or cookies for lunch. Pudding is ok becasue it gives me a serving of milk, but I just want more chocolate. |
I'm with LAWL so I have to eat so much vegetable, protein, dairy etc.
B - Light Yoplait Snack - nectarine L - equivalent of Slim Fast Shake Baby Carrots Snack - 1 apple D - Taco Salad |

I'm on LAWL, too, and have been struggling with eating things that are ON PLAN, but I'm just eating too much of it. Today I've been sticking to the plan and hope to continue that as the day goes on. Here's my proposed menu for today (1-11-07): Breakfast: 1/2 c egg beaters Snack: LA Lite bar Lunch: caesar salad, dinner roll, apple Snack: LA Lite bar (those are like Luna bars, for those wondering) Dinner: LAWL recipe for chicken nuggets, 1/2 c veggies Dessert: LA Smoothie So far, so good, again. *fingers crossed* :Editing to add: I stayed on plan yesterday (1/10), woohoo! I'll edit this post, too, with my current day's menu. |
I do my own personal made up diet. I just try and eat no processed foods, except Kashi products. So it's kind of based off of the Whole Foods diet
Meal 1- medium orange, 6 almonds Meal 2- 4 wheat crackers with a bit of peanut butter Meal 3- 2 c fresh spinach, ff ranch, crab, chicken, eggs Meal 4- lf string cheese Meal 5- cup of veggie beef soup Meal 6- 4 oz grilled salmon, 1-2 c broccoli |
Thanks for the thread! I'm going to experiment with what will work best for me. So I wont be logging my entire day ATM. But maybe just 'rewarding' myself on here when i have my good 'days and 'especially' my work nights!

Ok for my afternoon snack I did have smart pop popcorn mini bag. It is only one point and very filling. Now when ever I get the urge to munch I am going to drink a bunch of water and walk on the treadmill. Let's see if I can not eat now till dinner. |

But I have an excuse today......We need groceries and I had another training class today...it was only 3 this time.... NOBODY LOOK!!! Breakfast- 1 slice turkey bacon and 2 pancakes Smart balance lite butter and SF syrup. Lunch- Small mocha cappucino from QT, 3 apple slices and tsp carmel dip, 10 doritos, 4 kisses with almonds, 8 choco covered pretzels, and a diet coke (meeting munchies:o ) Dinner- 2 slices papa johns pepperoni pizza. I am about to get on the treadmill and go till I pass out LOL!!! I am just kidding. |

I am trying to conver to a whole foods program also so I have just been experimenting with some things. Here goes:
B- Kashi bar, skim milk, starbucks NF SF van latte (love starbucks!) Sn-orange with almonds L- 3 corn tortillas with black beans, brown rice, and salsa garden salad with FF ranch on the side. sn- apple with cottage cheese S- Bocca burger on whole grain bun, spinach salad with walnuts and olive oil dressing. |
Ok, I posted breakfast and lunch earlier. Afternoon snack was popcorn. One point and sooo filling.
Dinner Chicken breast with lemon pepper--4 points 1/2 cup mac and cheese--4 points 1 cup corn--2 points 1 cup green beans--0 points Snack 1 cup grapes cut in 1/2, 1 small apple cut into bite sized chunks, 1 container of vanilla yogurt, and a touch of granola all mixed together--4 points Still have 2 points left for the day and I am stuffed. My snack tonight was wonderful. And I managed to get the recommended 5 servings of fruit/veggies. YAY me. |
DanceDiva- I too am in process of doing the whole foods diet! I already eat many of the Superfoods, so I just need to get in more of them w/o going over my planned calorie intake.

Ok, Last night I got out my Weight Watchers stuff back out and I'm going to try it again. I know several of you are doing Weight Watchers so maybe ya'll could give me some advice?! Today is my first day so......keep fingers crossed! I have 22 pts and 35 flex points. So far I haven't had anything so I'm doing good! LOL
I'm having problems remembering everywhere I post...There's the challenges, the exercise log, and water log. How is everyone doing this? My computer is slow so it takes forever to get to all the places. I'm trying real hard to join in and be apart of this, but I'm forgetting where it all is. Could we have one page for all and maybe just edit that page and then have our weigh in page? Or if anyone can give me any ideas on how to keep up with it all, I'd appreciate it! I'm just starting this forum thing and I'm not knowlegable on how to do it all. Anyway, this is really helping me be accountable for my water exercise and now eating, I'm really excited because I am losing weight! So Thank you all for your encouragement! Hey JennyMarie. Good for you for pulling out the WW stuff. I swear by the program. But I guess anyone who has had success with the program they are on will swear by theirs as well.
Keeping up with the posts? Do you subscribe to the threads of interest? If you do you get an email telling you someone has posted to the thread you are interested in. Click the link in the email and it will take you right to the thread. You get one email until you visit the thread again. I love that feature. I have mine set to subscribe to any thread I post to. I was thinking it was an auto thing but I am told it isn't. You have to tell the site to do that. OK MY BAD DAY. It has been one of those days here. We have been soo far behind in our bills. I finally have things about back to normal and BANG. Dh was suppose to have his bonus check today...nope didn't get it. (He got $200 for eash ASE exams he passed. He passed 2 so that is $400.) I needed that to get rent paid. Spent most of the day crying. Sooooo I am an emotional eater. So I said screw it and had an WW ice cream sandwich. BUT I swear it is the only thing I am eating till dinner. |
