That's right Lulu we are both celebrating 1 year (This time around) and 1/6/13 was my anniversary on this journey (many many time in the past ... this time I JUST KNOW and am committed!) Its such an easy plan to live with too! If you do have a bad day (it happens).. well start back the next day. That's it! Easy Peasy. Maybe we should start a tips thread....?

Thank you so much sue!! You are doing great! Good morning everyone. In the first week for me I always weigh daily then I go to every week after that just gets me motivated to see the scale moving water or not lol. Today I was down to 211.2! Moving in the right direction and not going up at all so that makes me happy!! So that's 6lbs so far. Hoping this next week brings the same changes then I will be so busy when school starts again I am hoping I will just keep my mind off the scale because I know it will probably slow down soon but of course still eating healthy! I am in my finale semester of nursing school and will be graduating in may with my associates degree that is 30 weeks from now. My goal is to lose 60lbs by then which is 2 a week and I feel that is a healthy rate to lose at. Any loss will be fine with me though as long as it keeps going in that direction :) Now that I am starting to get over the induction flu that seems to hit me so hard day 3 and 4 I am hoping to incorporate more exercise! I hope you all have a great day!!

Haven't been able to check in, crazy work week, so glad it's over!
Another pound gone and still feeling confident and encouraged, which is sometimes a harder thing for me than eating right! Had one very off day, thanks to the folks at McDonalds. I was in a rush and hit the drive through. Ordered a salad with grilled chicken but got crispy chicken instead. Didn't realize until I was already back at work and had only a few minutes to eat. I was starving, didn't have any snacks with me so I ate it. I checked the nutritional info later ... it was more than double the carbs than I usually eat in a meal! Being insulin resistant and very used to eating low carb my body was NOT HAPPY!! and all I could think about was the consequences: I was probably out of ketosis and how long was it going to take to get back in! I have great support at home though, and of course you folks, which helps. Last week my boyfriend brought home an low carb/IP recipe he thought I would like from his chiropractors office (they do IP in the same office, so they have recipes in the waiting room) This week he gave me a gift certificate for his chiropractor! He is probably just sick of me complaining about my sore back, lol, but sweet just the same! Congrats to the one year folks! Have a great week everyone! |

I had a good start to the day but ending with margaritas and burgers and fries. Then tomorrow is the playoff games!!! Brooklyn.. you are doing great! Love the initial weight loss.. it is so motivating! I am just a slave to the scale, so I weigh daily too (actually morning and right after work as I usually will weigh 2 lbs less the next morning) Keep kicking butt! woohoo!!

Well 210 on my official weigh in day and good day to do it because AF stopped by and I am not going to want to for the rest of the week lol. Nothing like her coming in the second full week of induction :( but alas at least it answers the questions of why I have been having such intense cravings the last couple days, but she wont break me :P. I have been predominantly low carb since 1999 with a few years of raw vegan thrown in. I remember when this website had very few members. After my weigh in at WW yesterday morning I decided that I had to really commit to eating low carb again. I've been a lifetime member since 2011. So yesterday was my first fully committed day back. 1/16 152.8 1/20. 151.8 Goal 148 for now, then 145 Have a fun day! |

I hope that you all are doing great and your successes rub on me too, lol. Unfortunately I have to say that I am on plateau. I keep losing and gaining the same pound around 153. It has been over two weeks now. I have seen 152 a few times, but it does not stuck around, lol. I guess I need to keep myself motivated and not let discouragement take over. Reading your posts here helps a lot and I keep reminding myself that if I hang in there *eventually* I will a smaller number, lol. I am hoping this eventually comes sooner rather than later, lol. Anyhow, I was also visiting the IP board to read more posts and prevent myself from being too discouraged when I saw that someone has posted this video of Robert Lustig and people at UCSF talk about sugar and obesity. I don't think there is much new that we have not heard before, but still it was good to hear again how bad sugar is for our body. When I am discouraged like now I like to hear again how reasonable low carb lifestyle is for our body, to hopefully stay strong and see scale show smaller number, lol. I found this thread and while I am at a very late start I would like to join. The name is what drew me, love yourself. I have spent months abusing myself with food, binge eating and watching the scales go up and down over and over along with my emotions. I don't plan on losing that much but I would like to somehow stick to healthy eating, no over eating, and no binging, from now til Valentine's day. I would like to drop 5 lbs if that is possible, but unsure. I haven't stepped on the scale in weeks, will do so in the morning to try to get an accurate reading. Last I knew I was at 180, which is the highest I have been in years.

I also made a hot water, lemon, honey, and salt gurgle for my throat and swallowed some accidentally. (tastes horrible but all ingredients are antibacterial and really seems to help heal faster) |
Can't weigh - just checking in! Ate on plan yesterday and have a plan again for today. Using myfitnesspal, helps me stay true to low carb and that 4 letter word "portions". Going to work out right now in my "fake it til I make" approach to exercise!! HA! My body is changing again and I know this sounds funny but I think my apple is actually paring down!! And let's just say my face has a lot more "character" than it used too!!
