lulu add some lemon juice to your water like a tbls per 20 oz, it really helps flush out, it is worth the 1 carb.

staja ouch! yeah finding work right now is pretty difficult. My hubby's job is SCREWING him right now (over worked, not giving him the resources he needs then yelling when things aren't done fast enough, asking him to basically work from home on his vacation. not for a little bit or a day, but basically do 85% of his job just from home that week) but he's worried about getting fired so he is taking it for now :(

Good morning everyone!

I realized I wasn't following the format of day by day weight loss. I need to get a better scale that shows more than whole numbers. I am very happy with my loss so far! The first 2 lbs was just Thanksgiving gain so I've really lost my first lb today!

I have a long walk from the ferry to my office so that's how I'm getting my exercise in the next couple days. Anyone have the UP band? or any of those step trackers. I got one and am using it again and it has really helped to motivate me to move.

Great job pixiecat on the weightloss! You too Staja! I think you could make your lower goal of 213 easily!

Huh, I think my scale is broken! I definitely ate most of a (erm, a whole) frozen pizza last night. I really need not do that :D and I'm sure the scale will show it tomorrow! Anyway, Happy Friday!

Sue: I do the same thing at work - I spend 30 minutes a day scanning invoices in our front office, and usually spend my whole time in there pacing.

Oh Happy Sue today,.. Lowest weight ever on this journey.. my old (wrong and dastardly) scale shows 231.5 which I have not weighed in for ever!

Sue - WooHoo on the down!! You were so kind when I made it to Onederland in May!!! Thanks for reminding me!!! I am 47 weeks in right now!! I am so glad I started this journey!!

It takes as long as it takes - reminding myself everyday that nothing really changes after I get to goal - I have to adopt the same patterns for life to keep the weight off!!

Hey all, I have been out of town so I haven't really been on here cause I couldn't weigh in. I got in a couple hours ago and immediately stepped on the scale to see if there had been much damage. I ate as best as I could but since I didn't know how things were prepped I am sure i wasn't fully op.

Hi everyone,
I am back after MANY months and am trying hard to stick with it and see long lasting results. I recognize many of your names and remember your kind support in the past. It is good to be amongst friends again. How inspiring to see you continuing your journey to health!
Your willpower and determination are amazing!!
I think it would be beneficial to start now rather than wait until the 1st. The sooner the better, right?
Here it is: starting at 240 .......ashamed of myself and to say it out loud!

Worked out already today - continuing my fake it til I make it strategy!! Scale did not move but I really think it is going to happen soon! I'll be on the road so I can't weigh again until Wednesday!!

Very proud of myself this weekend.

My mom is on Atkins and I got my best friend on Atkins as well! She is so excited and wouldn't stop talking about how educational this diet is on what foods are good and bad. So happy to introduce her to a better and healthier way of life.

I used to get really bad stomach aches but haven't touched my tums at work since I started this back up again.

Went to a concert with my best friend on Friday and we definitely helped keep each other on track. She said she wanted a beer and I said I wasn't going to drink but if they had vodka maybe I'd get a vodka water. Then she remembered we really aren't supposed to drink. We both stayed good and had hot dogs :)

It paid off since I lost another lb! Down to 148.

This is probably TMI but I haven't gone number 2 in quite a while (at least 3 days). Should I be worried? :o

ugh. I haven't' stepped on the scale as i am terrified of what I've done to myself since Thanksgiving vacation. I am just hoping to drop whatever I have gained, and at least return to 167. I will wait till I am brave enough to step on the scale to post stats.:o

Sue: you are doing amazing and come so far! Keep it up and the extra water weight will slide right off!

Lindsay: I've been drinking Smooth Move tea once a week or so, when I have issues in that area. It cam happen if you aren't eating enough fiber or getting enough water.

Can't weigh but worked out - I read someone calling it the "dreadmill" - personal best 3.7 mph - I'll never be a runner but I will be a very fast walker!! Wishing everyone a downdowndown day!!

Lindsayms14 - I think everything slows down when you get to a certain weight because there is only so much food you can have and stay on plan - but I agree it depends on the type of food. No issues when I am eating boatloads of fauxtato salad for instance! I wouldn't worry about how often only if it is difficult...

I need to get back to studying for my tests today so I will try to do personals later, but I do have a confession, last night I ate at the dining hal, I did so good at first, then I caved to my test-stress induced cravings for bakery food! :( I ate three cookies. but they made me feel like crap, so it seems unlikely I will do that anytime soon. I haven't noticed that I am feeling better on atkins, but going off that little really set me off. My body was like WTF!!! lol

1.7.5. - It's official - I am in completely new territory!! Not sure why the scale jumped but I will take it!! 50 pounds down!!! 15 to go for my realistic goal weight!! I can't remember as an adult ever weighing less than 178...it has me shaking my head in disbelief...actually teary this morning.....it's a journey......thank you so so so much for your support!!!

I am sooooooo proud and HAPPY for you! 175, 175!!!! Scream to the world :D (I have to ask.. did the "Dreadmill" scare those 2 lbs away? :lol:

Pixikat...cookies are a hard thing to walk away from (especially during the holidays) and with you studying and being stressed for the finals.. well.. sometimes a crutch is needed. I have to ask tho, as you said you have not felt anything while doing Atkins, do you feel alittle less cloudy in the head? that was always the first sign to me, telling me that it was working.. I just felt smarter and less brain congested. Has something like this happened to you?

OKAY MARA.. you are .6 ahead of me... ooooohhhhhhhhhhh I have to run run run run to catch up to you! Still shooting for 239?! YEP we are! :) Show me the path ahead! :)

Ugh Cookies are the bane of my existence this week!!! My aunt sent me a small box of christmas cookies and I ate idk how many :( I threw the rest of the box away though so thatll be the only damage from that. I think I only gave in cause I was hungry for lunch and the first thing I saw was a brownie, my biggest weakness lol

sue I haven't noticed feeling more clear headed but I have had a tension headache since before I started from school and tests and whatnot. I am alot less hungry though. I am rarely hungry, I more have to remember to eat something most days.

1.7.4 this morning!! Not sure what is going on but again I will take it!! For the first time in a very long time I can actually say I made goal on one of the long term challenges!! Thanks again for all of the support and kind words!!! I really appreciate it!!

Sue - When I get to 160 that's when I will feel like I am 15!! That's the weight I was in 10th grade before I went on my first crash diet. It was the 80s and I think the plan was called the "Cambridge Diet" - you know the story - girl loses weight, then gains it back plus some!

Sabotage of the day - My brother, knowing I am getting fit, sent chocolates to my house!!

True confession - I have been experiencing an arthritic flare, had a pity party, and did not work out yesterday. When I warm up and get more flexible later today - I WILL work out - back to faking it until I make it!!

Staja I still have to do my holiday baking, but I have been slowly introducing my family to healthier goodies. Probably will make zucchini brownies, muffins with chia seed instead of eggs, etc. They seem to like the goodies.

Lulu and Pixicat I understand the temptation. Here at wrong someone brought a huge tin of the Danish butter cookies. I love those things! I had to walk past them several times yesterday. I admit that I had a few.

I am down today though. Fingers crossed for 243 something tomorrow.

Holding steady....but I don't expect much more this month. Usually I lose and then hold for what seems like the longest time before the scale moves again!!

Success of the week I did what I said!! I worked out on the elliptical yesterday - I was worried I was going to fall off the exercise wagon. Not so stiff this morning so I am going to work out soon. I love checking that box off as soon as possible!! It's only December and I can't wait to walk outside again!! It was 15 degrees yesterday and my husband went walking - too cold for me!!

Danish butter cookies - nuff said - doesn't everyone love them!!

sue if only she would! I'm pretty sure baked goods are what caused my scale to go the wrong way this week, but I am back OP now so hopefully it'll turn back around tomorrow.

Oh, the carb count on those are scary! lol I wonder if the flour can be subbed with almond flour and the sugar with an alternative sweetener. When I decide to up my carb count maybe I will play around with it.

I did the unfrosted version about a year ago and thought they were pretty good. The carb count is a little better that way.

I've been losing a lot of weight this week - it's always easier for me to be really tight on diet when my husband is out of town and I just eat simply. I've been purposefully low on calories for a few days and it seems to have really gotten the scale moving.

So, first part of this challenge is achieved - I've lost the 5 pounds I planned for!

Now, the more difficult part - holding the line (or even better losing more) through the holidays

I've been putting off my holiday baking, and I'm going to do less than usual (it helps that I have a new baby in the house, nobody expects it all this year!) - but I'm not making any of the stuff that really tempts me this year either, just the stuff I make that people have specifically requested (and brownies - I still have leftover Easter chocolate in the freezer that is going in a batch or two of brownies...)

Mara/Sarah -Yahoo on the downdowndown!!

Worked out already today - like I said - nice to check that box off early in the day!! I was up very early today - wrapped some presents, finished the popcorn/cranberry garland for the tree, made a dessert for a meeting that I have to go to today - not planning to have any of it!! So far so good!! Lots of snow coming in tonight!! Getting ready to ditch my 18W jeans!! Wishing my apple waist was making more progress. I think the guideline is below 35 inches for women for heart health....hope everyone has a great weekend!!

PS. I consider myself too high risk so I don't eat any low carb baked goods - I really don't think I could recover....
