Yeah... I get to start a new challenge.. I am sooooo excited and happy and feel like floating (I have to remember this feeling!)

So this is a challenge for anyone! Anyone and everyone is welcome! You do not need to follow this plan. You can start anytime! anytime! and weigh in as often or whenever you can.

This challenge is to see who can lose 5 lbs the fastest! If you do YOU WIN! (more ways than 1 :D)

Well done Sue. I screwed up again and kept posting in the old thread until Tuscany gave me the heads-up! 'cos I don't win these any more I tend to just keep going.

Anyway:

Yeah right.

I used to sh!t 5lbs for lunch.

Now it's up a bit, down a bit. Or up a lot, down a lot. But never in the same direction for very long.

A lot of people on here tell you it gets hard near goal. That is so spot on. I wish I had listened.

Well, at least it's Friday!

My boyfriend's parents are taking us to Burlington, VT this weekend, so I expect to be about 5 pounds of water weight by Monday. Eating at restaurants never excited me so much when I lived in the city, but now that I'm in the woods, it's sadly one of the most thrilling things about traveling. However, I'm going to try to hit he gym tomorrow before we go, drink lots and lots of water, and do as much walking as possible.

Well... I woke up and had a HAPPY FACE on!... My old scale (that I have used for 25 years!!) showed 235... oh lord 235.. I have not been this light for 22 years!!! 22 years!! that is longer than some of you have even been alive! :D New scale tho, shows 249.8! So new decade!! and 70lbs total off! Hooray! Now for the next 10!!! meantime.. I need 4 lbs to go to win this baby!!! :lol:

2 lb whoosh, and I forgot to weigh first thing this AM! And, I got the bf to confirm that he will be onboard with the whole "eating healthy" thing starting Monday...that should hopefully make dinnertime slightly easier!

Thanks guys. Still not sure what is wrong with FIL. Could be dehyrdation, could be an alergic reaction. But he has heart failure. I hope he can still live a life with that. There are different degrees of that.

MIL went nuts at me today because of the stress. Called me a bad father. Obsessed with my diet. Preferred me fat. Etc. Etc.

I kept my cool because she is under enormous pressure. Besides, I heard all that sh!t before from other people. :)

She later apologized.

But I repeat...already heard that sh!t from other people.

Stay the course.

IAN... Oh gosh... I am sorry that your MIL was so stressed out to say things that she really did not mean. You are a great father! You are a great person! She was and is stressed out and worried beyond all things. Unfortunately.. you got to be the punching bag... I am so sorry and I sure do hope that the doctors figure out how to stabalize your FIL so that he feels better and has a plan of working towards having a good life again! and Wahey to you!.. down to the 164's again! :D

Ian, sorry to hear that the stress of your FIL's health is continuing - hope he stabilizes with manageable conditions soon. I'm super impressed with how you handled your MIL - I need to learn to find the compassion and composure you did!

We are back from vacation and I was really super on-plan the whole time. There was no scale there. I started exercising (!!!), doing HIIT on the elliptical most days I was there. I read books, napped, etc - super relaxing and really nice to have daycare for my babies for a few hours and time for myself. The scale, however, is up a bit (I thought I'd probably lost a pound or two so I was pretty disappointed this morning). But hopefully it's just bloat from the airplane and the mysterious hamburger patty I ate at the airport (maybe it had soy or other fillers? it was disgusting). Maybe it will give me an edge in this Lose 5 Pounds challenge & I'll see a big drop quickly now that I'm back home!

Did not do good this weekend. All I wanted to do was eat. I felt hungry no matter what I ate. Hopefully tomorrow some water weight will fall off. Fingers crossed.

Ian I'm glad you were able to hold your cool. I am sure she is angry and scared. It sucks that she decided to lash out at you and say things she knew would hurt. It doesn't make her behavior acceptable, but at least you know where it is coming from. I hope today is better for everyone.
