Goal, plus one!

  • I was a journey, but I have finally passed my original goal...and by one pound! This also means i passed my Halloween challenge as well.

I started back in January, 2010 with a goal to get down to 225lbs. I was one pound away that summer on Canada Day and my sister sabotaged me (yes, it was her fault i ate that burger w/ bun, not mine...lol).

I then fluctuated...up 20lbs...down 10lbs...up 10lbs...down...back and forth for over a year until Sept 4th, when I jumped into the Halloween challenge.

This time I stuck with it and stayed focused...kept reading threads here more often for motivation. Forty-six pounds later, I'm pretty happy right now.

Now, I am going to aim to pick away at losing 15 more pounds...haven't set my goal date yet...perhaps New Year's?

Anyway, I know seeing success stories keep me motivated, so that's why I shared my story. I'm not doing this to brag or anything...just wanted to encourage!!

Thanks for all of your continued support!!
  • (again you suck) Ok, not really. You are an inspiration and I'll try to follow your path basking in the warm glow of the inspiration instead of the sick green light of jealousy. I want to be just like that one day.

Again, Congrats. Don't celebrate by eating a cake or anything, just smile and know that we all know what you did, and it's AWESOME! (go get new clothes - always an excellent reward for me)
  • Thanks for sharing your story - you are right the success stories keep us motivated .. And hearing of blips along the journey but coming back and going on is really motivating ..

    And congratulations!!
  • Thank you for your comments! Now I'll use everyone's encouragement to get to my new mini-goal...I'm sure the biggest struggle is yet to come...maintaining.
  • yay Sask You have done great!
  • Thanks, Violet! Now to creep toward my final mini-goal...i have to come up with a plan to add a few carbs back without sabotaging myself. I know how carbs induce a binge, so i'm pretty reluctant/scared.
  • I know that's scary territory! take it slow and keep close watch on the scales. I know I'm one of those people who will never be able to have just a few sweets
  • I'm like a recovering alcoholic...one sip and i'm done! lol Staying on induction-type foods is so much simpler.
