"I'm new to this site, and new to trying to change my lifestyle... I started this low carb thing about 2 weeks ago and began to loose around 6lbs. I messed up to celebrate my birthday and now I'm on my second day of the first three days. Everyone tells me I need to buy some ketosticks but I cant find them anywhere!!! .. and how do I know I've reach ketosis?:?:" You can buy ketostix at any local pharmacy. You may have to ask behind the actual pharmacy counter but they are often right on the shelf in the section for diabetes items. You do not need a prescription or anything. Just check the section for diabetics and if not there, ask behind the pharmacy counter. They are dipstix that you dip into your urine and if in ketosis, they will turn various shades of purple....and let you know IF and to what degree of ketosis you are in. To me, it was a much better way to gauge things rather than just going by the scale. deena :):wreath::wreath::wreath: |
While I'm sure ketostix are a wonderful thing...they never worked for me:?::?::?:

Congratulations Kim! You are an inspiration.
It's in large part due to your informative posts on 3FC that I am (finally) going to try Atkins... and make sure I try it the *right* way. |
