Are you going to workout 2 hours a day? That would make some serious progress for that goal.
But I am going to have to say that you have been around since 2006, and YOU KNOW it would be seriously extreeme if anyone lost that amount so fast.
But - it would be a great jumpstart to see how much you could lose.

That wouldn't have been doable for me. I guess everyone is different--I would say 10 pounds is definitely doable.

if you stayed under 500 calories a day and exercised everyday you would definitely shed some pounds but that would be extreme

IMOHO yeah maybe you could do it, but it would take more will than I posses. I don't know you but I would be concerned that if you went that extreme you couldn't maintain it for the whole month. For me if I could maintain that come that event, I'd probably eat the whole buffet!

1200 calories is the magic number you don't want to really go below, but you could go to 800. I will warn you that its really hard on your body and most likely you will start losing hair. You would also want to work out at least a hour a day, more would be better but you still would want to have two days off a week.

Personally I'd say go and love the progress you have made!

Realistically speaking....no. Even on Atkins, 20-30 lbs in a month or so is extreme. Keep in mind, 1-2 lbs is safe weight loss.

This is very common the first few weeks of Atkins depending on how much weight you have to lose. It is mostly water weight/ Be aware this does slow down significantly as you progress.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble.....but, don't want to see you setting yourself up for disappointment.
I lost my first 50 lbs in about 4 months.....but, I was also 245 lbs back then. The more you have to lose, the quicker it comes off, especially in the beginning. I'm not saying its totally impossible, but.....
As for tips....stick to Induction....acceptable foods list foods only....lots of water....lots of veggies.....moderate exercise.
All the best to you!

Lose safely like Kim suggested, and when you get closer to the event, buy a nice corset and dress that will give you a shapely shape walk with your shoulders back, hold your head up high and smile... cause I bet you are beautiful.

Good luck !!!

Leenie has great advice -- buy a nice dress and great support garments and strut your stuff.

The only one who knows a number on a scale is you, so do the best you can to lose healthfully and PERMANENTLY (no 500 cal diets, no 3 hours in the gym daily) and you'll have lost some weight and gained some skills by the time it rolls around.

I'm not a fan of time-based goals (especially extreme ones like yours) because people tend to miss them and think of themselves as 'failures' and then give up the diet. If you lose 15 instead of 30 would it really be a failure? You'd be down a size, maybe even 2, and be making a real dent in your goal.

Focus on what you can control (what you eat, how you exercise, staying motivated) and reward THAT -- the scale will follow, but it might take it's own time to do so.

good luck!

Those are great tips. After Induction, some people lose faster on OWL level 1 (more veggies). I lost 30#s in 7 weeks but I weigh a lot and moved into OWL right after Induction (I'm in OWL 4 - berries now) so my weight loss rate has slowed. Still steady though.

I don't know how much you can lose by early October. All you can do is the best you can. And maybe buy a flattering outfit...and some Spanx.
