Default Beyond the Scale

It's all gone way past simply wanting to drop weight. My whole health has improved since starting the Atkins WOL. Some of the good things:
  • hypoglycaemia gone
  • back ache gone
  • asthma gone
  • migraines gone
  • heartburn gone
  • depression lessened
  • energy increased
  • concentration better
  • binge-free!
  • skin is clearer
  • improved sleeping

I never would have imagined that changing my eating habits could have such dramatic effects.

Even hubby, who is not in the least bit overweight, and is a die-hard carb fiend is getting interested. He wants to try Atkins for the next couple of months to see if it will have a positive impact on his health. And he came to it himself with no nagging or bullying from me!

DishyFishy, right on!!

Three days after restarting Atkins, I noticed my joint pain was gone! Before, it was murder to go up and down stairs. My knees ached and my ankles screamed. After three days of getting the crappy carbs out of my system, no more joint pain AT ALL. And this is before I dropped a single pound on the scale. At that point, I told myself, even if I don't lose a pound, I will stay on Atkins for the rest of my life simply because the pain is gone. There's not a bite of cake on earth that's worth that kind of pain.

So, for me:

-goodbye joint pain
-goodbye sinus problems, particularly waking up with clogged sinuses
-goodbye falling asleep in afternoon meetings ~ no more blood sugar highs and lows
-goodbye fuzzy brain ~ I'm sharper and more in-focus without all that sugar in my system
-goodbye smelly, painful, disgusting yeast-fed rashes on my abdomen!!
-and goodbye size 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22 ~ I'm really really looking forward to size 8/10 and hope to get there this fall . . .

Oh yeah another biggie ~ goodbye daily heartburn! Every night after dinner and at bedtime...no more moaning, groaning and sweating from horrible heartburn. I've had one ~ ONE episode of heartburn since I restarted Atkins in August, and that was because I let myself have a single serving of Splenda. Problem solved; no more Splenda. I don't miss heartburn AT ALL ~ it sucked.
