Need some help: Calories

  • I'm on day 13 of Induction and find that I have basically no appetite. I find myself eating because I feel I have to. I'm not complaining, it feels good not to be obessing about food.... But my calories are not as high as they should be.

I'm averaging around 800-1000 calories a day. I could stuff myself more, but I really don't want to get into the overeating habit again.

I'll type a 'typical' day and maybe someone has some advice on how to up my calories a bit without adding more food to the list? Or any other suggestions would be great.

    Breakfast:
Hard boiled egg, String cheese, 2 glasses of water

    Lunch:
Lettuce salad, low carb dressing, 1/2 or 1 chicken breast, 2 glasses of water
sometimes I add Linda's 'garlic' bread

    Dinner:
'meatballs' (six small ones), mozzerella cheese and scoop of ricotta, 2 glasses of water

    Snack:
    Linda's cheesecake (204 calories!)

I don't use light, fat-free or reduced calories.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
  • Truthfully, you aren't eating enough. I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism It seems like you are eating a lot of cheese...string cheese, Linda's "garlic bread", which is mostly cheese, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese (which is not permitted on Induction), Linda's cheesecake. Where are your veggies?? 12-15 of your 20 carbs for the day on Induction should be coming from veggies & salad on the acceptable foods list. I also think you need more fat. I know you say you don't want to add more food to the list...but...you may want to switch things up a bit
  • I don't mind at all... in fact I appreciate it. I added the ricotta to add calories, but I'll definitely cut it out if I need to.
Unfortunately I'm not a veggie fan. On a good day I'll eat two salads, and can certainly make that a goal.
Any suggestions on how to add the calories without adding a whole lot of food? Is there too much cheese, should I reduce?
