Skin?

  • Not that I am any where near losing all the weight that I need... but I'm just curious, all you women that have lost a lot of weight- do you have saggy skin? I'm just concerned that my skin has been stretched for so long that once I lose weight it will just hang.
  • I know there are threads all over 3fc about this topic ~ maybe someone else can advise on which sub-boards for you to check for more info.

I think it depends mostly on your age and just luck of the draw, genetically. I'm turning out to be really lucky so far, particularly considering my high weight was really, really high and I'm 39, not old but also not a teenager by any means. I smoked for 27 years but quit in October and the skin on my face improved dramatically within 30 days of quitting. Otherwise I have no idea if ethnicity matters re. skin ~ genetically I'm basically 50% Scottish, 50% Native American (e.g., generic caucasian).

Overall my skin is tightening up pretty great. I won't know for sure til the end but right now I'm very pleased and hopeful. The other threads I've read about this also say speed of weight loss is no indication, and that's true. I'm losing fairly fast but it doesn't seem to be hindering my skin at all.

More specifically, the places I'm happiest with are my arms, legs and derriere. Chest and tummy still very hopeful... we'll see.
