Question Green Tea

Is Green tea okay to drink on induction or any part of Atkins? I have been trying to get my water in and find it sometimes helps if it has a flavor. So, I have been adding a green tea to go packet once a day to my water. Also, is hot green tea okay? I know you are not supposed to have caffeine. And I don't like my coffee black and when it is cold outside it is nice to drink a hot cup of tea. However, I don't want to slow down any progress. Please let me know if this is okay.

Thanks

The reason caffeine is discouraged on Atkins is that it causes blood sugar to spike which in turn can cause cravings.
I drink decaf green tea as well as other decaf herbal teas and have never had a problem. There are lots of delicious flavors out there. My favorites are Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice and Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride, which is a holiday tea only available during Christmas...so, I stock up!!

normal green tea is around 15mg of caffine per cup. where as normal coffee is around 90 (give or take depening if its freeze dried or filter)

also the caffine is a slightly different format to coffee meaning it reacts in a different way.
