morning KT - those PB skinny cows sound irresistable. fortunately my store only has choc/vanilla. My latest obsession is Healthy Choice chocolate chocolate chunk ice cream. If only I would take a 1/2 cup and sit down and eat it like a human being, instead of sneaking spoons of it here and there....

But today is a new day, isn't it? Also I decided after my weekend of eating too much that I want to lose 3 to 8 pounds below my goal weight. I'd like to see what a few less pounds of fat looks like.

b:
puffed wheat, dried cherries, milk 5
coffee

L:
turkey sand 2
tomato salad
spinach w/parm & croutons 1
cantaloupe 1

d:
tofu 2.5
brown rice 2
broccoli
ginger-garlic-sesame-soy sauce 1
little bit of leftover baked beans1
picked at leftover chicken 1

snack:
choc soy milk 2.5 (trying to incorporate more soy - woke up last night covered in sweat...things are not looking good in the pre-menopausal symptoms department)
pretzels 1 (find I need something salty after the soy milk to cut the aftertaste)
soy nuts 2

total: 22
exercise: cardio weights class -2

Yours truly,
the soy princess (Myra is the soy queen without a doubt)
Laurel

Hey, Laurel - night sweats - aren't you a little young for pre-menopause symptoms? I'll be 41 in two months.

I hadn't bought Skinny cows for awhile & saw our store had stocked that flavor plus the Strawberry flavor - would have been better off not buying them....

KT, no I'm going to be 45 in a week. The night sweats are coming right on schedule. Also it was hot & muggy last night.

Neon, your lunch sounds so good!

Hey there KT, LM, Neon and Lala, and all who follow...

Out here on the Cape, it's been incredibly muggy, but the last two days were beautiful. Right now though, it's pouring!

Still haven't adjusted to the time difference, and hubby and I stumbled out of bed at 8am. We got in some decent exercise him riding a bike and me walking (probably did 8 miles. woof). I definitely need some activity points to burn.

Morning (7)
1/4 power bar - 1
3/4 croissant - 4 (we walked/biked) to this amazing french bakery)
cof - 1
1 c blueberries (yummers in season) - 1

Midday (8)
1/2 lobster tail - 2
6 low cal rice cakes - 2 (Yeah I could believe it either)
yesterdays leftover seafood salad 1/2 c - 3
bread - 1 1/2 c - WW veggie soup - 0

Evening (11)
steamed lobster - 4
butter - 2
roasted potatos 2
zucchini w/ tsp oil - 1
fruit - 2

estimated Total - 26 - 1 activity = 25
exercise - 2 hrs intensive walking - 7 activity points (-1)

Patch:
I'm so there with the lobster. I can't wait to drive down to searsport and look for the lobster truck. I'm opting for another one of two so that we can have lobster salad during the days.

Good for you and the walk, don't worry, croissants won't kill you! In fact, a bit of variety is a good thing.

I'm going to try and log in while in Maine. Its got to help!

take care!

I know. Isn't getting older a pain. I am 43 and somewhere between perimenopause and menopause. I've been taking some phyto estogen pills and they help a little as does all the soy I eat.

I can't eat Skinny Cows. I love them but once I start I can't stop. I realized that the first time I had them. I ate one and went back for a second and then told my husband to finish the rest off. I just couldn't handle them. I have that problem with a lot of sweets. I've been avoiding sweets as much as I can and have been in much better control of my eating as a result. I limit my sweets to smoothies and ww 2 point bars.

Morning
ww smoothie with nf soy milk 3
frozen strawberries 1

Midday
grilled vegetables 1
cheese 2
soy butter on rice cake 2
ww bar 2

Evening
seitan 4
summer squash 0
pasta 3
sauce 2

Total: 20

Exercise: weight training and step/toning class

myra
where do you get soy butter anyway? and does it taste like ground up soy beans? That's my impression of soy milk, even with chocolate powder mixed in. Not bad, kind of botanical, but not like milk either.

I get it at my health food store. Also Stop and Shop carries it at the health food section. If you get the right brand it actually tastes like peanut butter and has 1/3 the fat not to talk about the benefits of soy. The one I like best is made by Natural Touch, but Soy Wonder and I M Healthy are pretty good too.
