Default when to exercise?

Ok, so. how long do you wait after you eat to exercise? After school, I was starving, so i had to go home and munch on some food. How long do you wait till it's okay to exercise and not have any cramps?

I'm sure somebody will have some "rules" on this, although I just go ahead and exercise when I'm comfortable. Depending on the exercise and what I ate, that could be right away (like....when I'm hiking ). Generally for me, it's about 30-60 minutes after eating.

I guess the real question would be how much do u eat in that meal before u exercise. The bigger the meal the longer u should wait. Also, if u eat more protein over carbs in that meal right before exercising u might feel full but less energized. Try taking in a few more carbs in this meal specifically. If u are eating smaller meals all day then u shouldn't really have to wait long to workout but usually a regular meal takes about 4 to 8 hours to digest, so therefore the average is 6.

It depends how digestible the food you eat is. I can eat a bowl of oatmeal and eggwhites and go straight to the gym with not problem. Everyone is different go by how YOU feel. I don't think there is any "rule" ...

I eat before I workout and also after. I eat egg whites and a piece of fruit or cottage cheese and blueberries about 1/2 hour before I workout. I try to eat within an hour of when I leave the gym.
