Default Walking on carpet?

Is it safe to walk on carpet? I have a large area in my den that I am able to walk around in, and I was wondering if it was safe on my legs and knees to walk on carpet? Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand your question? Why wouldn't it be "safe" to walk on carpet? Are they "throw carpets"? When I do exercise dvd's at home I do them on the living room carpet. As far as being safe for your knees and legs, it is softer and therefore less jarring to your joints than say, pavement or even a treadmill. Hopefully I didn't totally misunderstand your question. GL!

Just don't touch your computer right afterwards! (static electricity)

I walk on the carpet in my living room and it seems to be fine. In fact, I would think a small amount of padding would be better for your knees than a hard surface.

As long as it's not torn and if ur running wear shoes so u have less chance of sprains if u don't normally exercise or live in a carpeted area. As for how it affects joints, u should be safer because it is providing a cushion between whatever is underneath and ur feet. I guess that was what u may have been asking.

Thanks...I was just wondering if it would be a strain on your knees since the surface is not firm....

All my home exercise is on carpet! I don't have a choice...there's carpet everywhere! So far, I haven't had any adverse effects!
