Beachies, I am a happy woman!!!
I came across these chocolate bars (you had to know that this involved chocolate, didn't you?
) at our local grocery store and checked the back of them just as a habit. I was stunned to find that they were made of really good ingredients! No sugar alcohols, just Splenda! The only thing I could find wrong with them was that they are high in fat (12 g per bar, 7 g of which is saturated, NO trans fats). That's it!
I was so happy!!!
Then, at my main grocery store, I discovered that they have a whole line of products, and they really look as healthy as such things can get! They have cereal, cereal bars, and oatmeal, in addition to the chocolate (which is really tasty, let me tell you!
).
Being unable to eat malitol (which seems to be in every SF chocolate out there), I was so excited to see these products.
Here's more info so you can check them out yourself.
Here’s info on the chocolate bars:

Info on the cereal bars:

The only prohibitive thing about the products is the cost... $1.49 for the chocolate bars and $4.99
for the cereal bars. You can get them for slightly cheaper online at Netrition:

Anyone noticing anything nasty or worrisome in the ingredients list that I overlooked in my chocolate frenzy?
I certainly don't plan to make these a part of my daily diet, but it's nice to know that I can make some baked goods with chocolate in them that can be enjoyed during the week instead of just on Saturday (the day I have my dark chocolate).
I don't have much room in my diet for cereal bars, but it'd be nice to have them around for a treat now and then. I'm just so excited when I see healthy alternatives for junk food!
