Default Cool whip ok for P1?

I thought I understood this diet but maybe I've missed something I'm on day five of P1 (and managing fairly well, I think) but I was craving chocolate the other nite, found the recipe for chocolate breeze and thought, "oooh, yummy!" Went right to the store to buy the ingredients and stopped short in my tracks. Cool WHip Lite and ff both have corn syrup listed as the second ingredient, after water. What's up? I thought the idea was to eliminate those types of sugars as much as possible. Help!

I can definitely understand your confusion..especially since Cool whip contains corn syrup.. a thing to be avoided! Lite Coolwhip falls under the phase 1 "treats" and treats are limited to 75 cals. The 2 tblspoons of lite coolwhip that we are limited to comes to 20 cals, and more importantly only 1g sugar. . Since we are to look for foods that contain less than 3 grams of sugar, it fits the SB Way of Eating .

That being said, if you are very sensitive to sugars, and you find it triggers cravings you might want to do with out it or substitute it with some FF 1/2 & 1/2 and splenda and vanilla, salt and whip up to a nice froth or perhaps visit the SugarBusters forum for some ideas.
Here's a link to the Emergency Handbook for Phase 1.. it includes a list of Phase 1 foods! Enjoy Wendy and Pop in more often! http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58182

Hope this helps ya~~~

So true....who is that crazy person who says that a serving is 2T? I say it's closer to 1/4 of the tub. Who needs anything to go with it? I don't, so I can't have it in my house or I eat it up way too fast, a spoonful here and spoonful there and all of a sudden the bowl is empty...who ate my cool whip?
