Here's a thread for those who have occasional vegan days or are vegan all the time.
A vegan's diet is different from a vegetarian diet. A vegetarian diet is a diet that includes no animal flesh (fishes, cows, pigs, rabbits, geese, gelatin etc.) but may include eggs, dairy products and honey.
A vegan is someone who uses/eats no animal products of any kind, such as dairy, flesh of all kinds, honey, eggs and so on, so if what you are eating today is free from animal products, please feel free to post!
Today:
2 servings seitan (wheat gluten) and oven fries
Soup of spinach, carrots, leeks, garlic, onions, shallots, cabbage, potatoes and spices (2 BIG bowls of this!)
1 sprouted grains english muffin and 1 tsp. coconut oil
2 cups Vitasoy Complete soymilk
2 cups Calcium-fortified orange juice with hemp protein powder
Vegan chilli made with soy mince, carrots, kidney beans, onions, peppers (left over from last night)
Baked potato
Vegan oatmeal bar
2 tangerines
2 pints water
Fresh squeezed orange juice
Today was a crappy day because I got "stranded" and couldn't eat at home, hence the garlic knots I stayed within my calories but it was NOT a nutritious day at all.
Sprouted grains bread with coconut oil and 1 cup orange juice
6 cups salad (romaine lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced red onion, seeded and sliced cucumber, kalamata olives and a lemon garlic dressing)
5 small garlic knots (doughy bread )
Hemp protein powder, soymilk and mixed berries shake
I am not vegan but I just realized I had a vegan day. I am trying to limit my dairy intake due to allergies and husband was completely vegetarian for years and is working his way back to it.
Kashi cereal w/low fat vanilla soymilk
Salad-cherry tomatoes, red onions, chickpeas, black olives, mushrooms, cucmber, radishes, green pepper w/ olive oil & vinegar
snack of dry roasted peanuts
Boca burger-vegan variety with wild rice and spinach
