Talking Counting calories and journaling only way for me

Hello everyone, I am abigi7 in Illinois and I am 63 yrs. old. I am on a 1200-1300 calorie to lose 129 pounds so I can keep up with my 5 month old great grand daughter whom we take care of during the day. I have tried a lot of diets and the only one that works for me is counting calories. I tried WW but the food list is to wide for me cause I love salty foods and don't most of us......lol, but i was using my points for that kind of food and that doesn't work for me. I have to be more structered and accountable for my actions. I journal every day and do all things you need to do like count, drink water and I try to excerise.
I was in at Dottis place but I don't think they are that supportive so I came here. I have been luring here for a while and see that you guys try to help so if I can be part of the team that would be great.Well i have talked long enough see you all tomorrow and I will try to say hello every day.

Nice to meet you, abigi -- I'm Emily, and I'm doing pretty much the same kind of eating plan as you, sounds like. Keep us posted?

Welcome! I'm in Iowa by the way. I've tried other diets too and this is the only thing that had worked for me. Usually within a month I quit the other diets but not this time. I'm at a month and a half and going strong. 15 pounds so far!

I'm sure you'll do wonderful.

Welcome, we can always use another counter. I am like you, I have to count cals. I like being accountable for every item I eat. I have done ok as you can see. I hope you find a nice supportive place here to hang out in while you loose that pesky weight. Getting even 10% of your body weight lost will surely help you with being able to keep up with your Great-Grand daughter!

SO WELCOME AGAIN!

Hi, Abigi7! I agree. The only way i can lose weight is to keep track of everything I eat. Over the past year I have become much better at recognizing portion sizes, but if I don't write everything down along with my calories, I will eat too much.
