Smile First Official Day

Hey there!!
Today is my first official day and so far so good!
I am 33 years old and live in a very, very, very small town in Northern Idaho. I have a wonderful DH and a 13 (going on 20) year old DD and a 10 year old DS.
I've been on WW and Atkins, when I read about this diet it seemed the best of both worlds. The hardest thing for me in Phase 1 is the no alcohol...it seems all our recreation involves a cooler full of whatever, but I figure if I can't give it up for 14 days then I have more than an eating problem
I hope to be posting a lot more...need that support

Monica, you can have red wine when you get to Phase 2. And occasionally, other liquor. I had a once-in-a-blue moon gin and diet tonic last weekend.

But I like what you said...if alcohol is so important you can't give it up for two weeks, you do have more than an eating problem. Good point!

Have you read the book in full? This plan can be very confusing even after you've read the book, but especially hard if you didn't get through it.

Welcome!

So where are you at? (If you don't want to say exactly that's ok!) It's just that my mom lives near Newport Washington, Oldtown Idaho. We also have some family in Bonner's Ferry. I was curious if that was near you!

Good job on the first day. I'm almost 32 and have a 12 year old DD 4 year old DS too.

Nice to meet you - welcome to the beach

Hottie,
I don't live very far from Bonners....our sports teams play them, we are just a couple of hours away. I live in Fernwood which is 60ish miles south of Couer d' Alene. Our little k-8 school has only 140 kids in it. My dd always says if you blink when you drive through fernwood, you'll miss it

Thanks for the support guys...i did great yesterday!!! The real test will be this weekend because we have started camping and 4-wheelering. I'm gonna hang tough though! I'll let you know how it goes!

I'm wrong! My first goal was to get to 150 but then I decided to take a flying leap straight toward 130-135! Anyways, we're both 180lbs.! Tara

Welcome and hope you enjoy your stay on the beach. Congratulations on getting through that first day.

I like my beer too so it was a chore giving it up but now I don't really miss it.

Great minds think alike....We did foil packets before SBD so they will fit in well. We call them Hobo Packets...Lots and Lots of different ways to make them.

Meanica,

I'm 5'8" too. 163 is a high healthy weight, but that's my first goal. At 150 I was a size 8, which was great for me. Not twiggy, not chubby! Good luck!

I was thinking 150 would be good...in high school I weighed about 140 and that is way thinner than I need to be....My DH even sees pics from then and says I was too thin.
Hopefully it won't take too long to get there....I get discouraged pretty easy...it will be easy now that spring has sprung and we can do stuff outside to keep me out of the cupboards and off the couch

I am 5'8" and my goal weight is 163, size 8-10 feels good for me. I'm pretty muscular from years and years of training for swimming, so I can't imagine being under 150. I have a LONG way to go though.

I had my second day, but I cheated, pretty badly at that. I had fruit (without added sugar), and FF organic sugar free yogurt and iced all blended up. I was out all afternoon and that was the best decision I could make. I guess we'll see tomorrow!
