Default Weekend Beach Chat, April 2-3

Good Morning!

For some reason I woke up early so I let Mr. Kirby out and started coffee. I'll enjoy a cup and head back to bed for awhile. I think I'm going to work outside in my yard today. It's not supposed to be super warm...mid 50's but good enough to enjoy some sunshine.

I look forward to hearing from you all and have a great day!

Been up for a while and did not wake to the dog alarm since I closed the door into the back room. Jazz didn't bark until I came downstairs and now is pottied, breakfasted and zzzing away curled with Millie on the white brocade chair,

Two visitors coming from Ottawa this morning for coffee and bagels at 9 and then a trip up to the Island. Colin and Tanya are getting married this fall and I suspect they have chosen the same weekend as another couple. I will have to make a hard decision before September re family or friends. The good news is that I do have a dress!

This has been a banner year for syrup production and the folks are now crabbing about wanting the sap to stop running. Usually they're crabbing about it being too slow. There will be lots of syrup for the Maple Syrup Festival mid-month, not like other years when we had to scrounge around to get enough for two days of pancake serving. We had over 1200 people here last year and the Village was jumping!

Time to get dressed and then get ready to serve greet my guests when they arrive. Not sure what today's weather will bring but the snow tires are going back into the barn today. I may ask Colin to horse them out of the car.

Enjoy your weekend.

Good morning early chicks!

Slept like a rock last night, but I often do. After I cook and clean up dinner, when I sit down I am pretty much done. I remember as a teenager watching my dad take a nap before he went to bed and now I am there! lol Oh well.

Not sure what's on today's agenda. It is supposed to rain or snow later so I may try to get outside and take a walk this morning. Then I should do some laundry and some paperwork....Looks like I DO know what's on the agenda.

Debbie, enjoy your outside time. I'm excited to see things started to grow (and crocus blooming!). DH and I are starting to plan the garden.

Ruth, enjoy your visitors. Our winter weather was so weird I didn't know what would happen with the sap but our run is also doing well. The good years help to balance out the bad ones I guess

Have a great Saturday chicks.

ETA- had to go back and fix my typos. I should learn not to post until I'm done with my first mug of coffee!

Good morning chicks!

Beth your ur post made me laugh. I napped from 7:30 to almost 9 last night. Walked the dogs and said yup my bed needs me. According to my fit bit, I slept 10 hours!!! Felt really good too. Hope you don't get too much snow. I'm hoping we are spared.

Ruth enjoy your company this morning. You could always skip both weddings. Too difficult to choose I'm sure if there is a conflict, both couples will understand.

Debbie have fun working in the garden. Temps in the 50's are warm enough for me too to be outside.

Obviously nothing got done here yesterday. Although I did a quick 20 minutes on the bike. I'll ride again before work. I seem to have found my groove again. Good month too for the scale. I reached my March goal which puts me under my goal weight. It's been a real struggle getting to goal again. Can't wait to be off tomorrow. I'm not going back until Thursday. I'm sure I'll find things to do around here. I don't imagine I'll venture out as liquids start tomorrow then Monday the prep. Yuck lol

Have a wonderful day!

Ruth, that's exciting about the syrup! Enjoy your island hop!

Beth, hope your walk is nice and that snow doesn't come.

Jennifer, congrats on being in your "groove"and ending your month below goal!

I've done household chores and am headed outside. It's still chilly so I will dress warm. So much to do.....wonder where I will start.

Good morning,

The sun is shining so it's a good day. Woke up later than usual but went to bed later as well. Did my exercise and made breakfast and starting on some cleaning. Need to go get ready to take DD2 and her friend to the library and then DH has plans for us for the rest of the day. I do need to finish cleaning house but can do tomorrow when DH and DD2 go to Comic Con. DD1 and I will go see DS play Hockey tomorrow.

Debbie enjoy the weather outside, it was chilly here yesterday but is supposed to be warmer today.

Ruth glad to hear that it was a banner year for the sap, I remember you saying they were worried about it

Beth sounds like you have a plan for the day. I do sometimes fall asleep watching tv at night downstairs lol

Jekel yea for getting under goal weight that is awesome. I did lose a bit in March but did not hit my goal for the month but I am at my lowest weight in a few years and am continuing the path downward and been strictly op since Tuesday so I am happy.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Sunday morning. The coffee is ready and there are some ww blueberry bagels ready for those who can eat them. (Tanya and Colin stopped at the bagel shop on the way here from Ottawa yesterday.) Sorry if that's food porn.

Yesterday was sunny but a tad chilly. I made CTF (clean the fridge) soup and also did some puttering around outside. I put the tires away myself after cleaning a space in the barn. A very busy and cold week lies ahead so that may be "it" for working outdoors.

Just realized I need to do an April weightloss stickie - I've been remiss!

Good morning.

Ruth my grandma used to call it "mish mosh" I loved it!!! Always different but. delicious. She was a great cook. We are windy here and cold. Wore a hat and gloves to walk the dogs. We have snow, not much, but enough to keep me home until later.

I need to make a quick grocery exchange. Silly me bought rainbow Italian Ice. Meant to buy lemon. I am going to replace my sump pump today. Wish me luck with that. Otherwise just puttering around at home. I do need to get my car in for an oil change. I may drop it off after they close as I'm in no rush.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning The flu has had me MIA, but I'm over it and back. Darling children love sharing their germs. Today will be a catch-up day for weekend chores. I guess the cruddy weather is helping me because I'm not tempted to go outside. Poor peas and garlic are stuck in the s**w and cold this week. Hope everything makes it through.

Ruth - Clean the fridge soup sounds like a great idea. I usually do that with chili, but maybe soup would be a better choice this week.

Jennifer - Happy chore day

I may not be able to garden outside, but I've got lots of sprouting seeds and growing plants to get into pots so I can play in the dirt anyway welcome to spring in New England.

Good Morning!

It's been a quiet morning here now it's time for one more cuppa coffee then off to work. I managed 4 hours in the yard yesterday. It's good to see progress. The ground was still a bit too frozen for weed digging in some areas and I made some headway in other spots.

Better get my smoothie going!

Cyndi, glad you are feeling better!

everyone! Happy Sunday!

Good chilly morning! We had some flurries in the air yesterday but no accumulation. DH and I made a trip to Lowes for spring Black Friday; we now have bags of mulch and soil ready for the day the warmth comes! I have not yet done any outside yard cleaning up....but I did manage to do some inside cleaning yesterday. Today will be some more laundry and then paperwork.

Cyndi, glad you are feeling better! School kids are always full of germs!!

Jennifer,
good luck with the sump pump.

Have a good day, chicks!

Good morning,

I was up early and then went back to bed. DH and DD2 and Friend are off to Comic con that will give me time to do some stretching and finish off cleaning the house before going to DS hockey game. It was very windy and cold yesterday, starting out cold but not too windy today.

Cyndi glad you are over the flu, DD1 has had a cough for 3 weeks now but is slowly getting better

Everyone enjoy your Sunday
