Hi Floyd!
Welcome to this forum! This place is great to get to know people and learn new things...It has provided me with a great support system to keep going.
One thing I will tell you as far as reducing your mid section, is there is no way to truly spot reduce in one particular area. You will burn fat and gain muscles in all areas. Do you have a gym membership? If so there are a lot of great machines you can use to work your mid section and create muscle. Cable exercises are great for that. Check out bodybuilding.com and you can get all kinds of different exercises for whatever part of your body you want to train. If you don't have a gym membership there's a lot you can do at home too. When I don't go to the gym I use a balance ball to do different crunches and techniques. My lower back has damage from an accident I was in several years ago so it's hard for me to lay on the floor to do a regular crunch or sit up, and the balance pall is great for that. Body weight movements work your core just as much as weights will so don't worry about not getting into weights right off the bat. Planking will make you really strong!! Also, Pinterest is a great place to go for exercise routine ideas, etc.
Hope that helps you!
