Talking Wot no booze !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just curious what other people subsitute for booze when out and about socialising. I always end up on the diet coke in pubs and other peoples houses, even in my own at the moment.

I'm sure there are a million healthly alternatives, to the wine glass and the vodka bottle, but I always stick to my old favourite as I know it has no cals.

So what else beside diet coke and my ever faithful diluting blackcurrent juice, would you reccommend ?

NO BOOZE oh I see what you mean - well Carol sometimes (very rare mind you only when I'm driving!! :smile when I don't drink alcohol I'll have the usual slimline bitter lemon with ice and slice and pretend it's the old vodka/gin. Or I'll have a tomato juice with worcester sauce or angostura bitters with ice that lasts ages (as I Bly hate the stuff!)

At home I drink loads of water (filtered or bottled if I'm in the money) and herbal teas cold are nice - I tend to buy what's on offer to see what I like. Also smoothies which you can sort of have at home one of my favourites in mango and banana with ginger uuuuummmm. And the usual sugar free drinks - grapefruit's my favourite. That ice tea's supposed to be pretty good and I start the day with hot lemon then a coffee!!!!

Hope there's some ideas there

Cyas

I'm sure this will make me sound absolutely awful but I wouldn't go out if I couldn't drink! I have no willpower whatsoever if I am around friends. I tend to stick to vodka and diet coke, or gin and slimline tonic. Any other ideas on this topic would be welcome!!

Hello Phoebe it's been a while. I used to not go out without having a drink, but am re-educating myself, really boring if I'm honest. I find offering to drive makes me really popular

Never tried ice tea, maybe I should give it a go adn see what I'v ebeen missing out on. But them I'm not much of a tea drinking so maybe I won't - am very confused, must be the heat.

Have survived the weekend with 2 vodkas and diet cokes and a glass and a half of wine. Think this is a record on the least I have ever drank over a weekend.

Well done! I on the other hand have drunk loads of Low C's 4.5 sins each together with vodka and a couple of glasses of wine hence the hangover this morning!!!

I forget that I can't drink like I used to do and have a little too much.

When do you get weighed again Carol? Good luck

bye Dee

Thanks for remembering me Carol Well done on the restraint at the weekend. I was quite good too, just a couple of gin and slimline tonics. Wine is my favourite though

Yo Yo Dee, I heard that starting the day off with lemon in hot water was really good for you. I tried it for a while but it made me feel really queasy. How do you get on with it? I also find tea makes me feel queasy too so avoid that.

Its very quiet around here, I guess everyone is out enjoying the weather

Phobe I don't know whether this will make any difference but I use fresh lemons as opposed to the "real" lemon juice in bottles and leave it until I can knock it back in more or less one gulp!! I tend to knock a few things back hence the weight problem

Tea became a problem for my significant other but he doesn't drink it anymore just sticks to coffee (by the way he's also an honorary fat chick bless him!) and he's limited that to just 2 a day. The restraint of the man

We are having a small holiday before I return to work (I've been off nearly 5 months) so fingers crossed we'll be "goodish" Depends on where we end up really - it will be in this country probably Scotland or somewhere in that sort of region but nothing's planned only what food we're taking with us.

Yes it's been too darn hot to sit in even tho' the sun didn't peek out until 5pm

Hope everyone's ok

Love Dee

Thank you Phoebe - I'm highly motivated. I had a hysterectomy at the beginning of April - had my photograph taken unbeknowningly and boy did I look fat.... So I decided I could a: getter fatter or b: get my fat ae into gear. I choose b. My family have a high heart disease incidence and I don't want to become a statistic.

I've also been working out quite regularly at the local gym - today I ran for 25 minutes @ 7.5 and then used the xskier for 10 minutes on level 3 to burn off those pesky calories. I alternate between cardio and fat burning programs plus I also do a little weight lifting.

I must point out at this moment in time that I'm not back at work yet and I have no distractions other than being extremely sociable!! I'm lucky I don't have to make separate meals for children etc

Gotta go

Dee

NO booze!!! Not for me. If I know I am going out I tend to save points and earn bonus points. I don't drink as often as I use to so it is noce to let my hair down once in a while.

Have fell off the wagon as they say. Not been drinking as much as usual, so much for being an angel - it's hard work, need to just keep working at it

Drank loads of diet coke last night and shared a bottle of Blossom Hill wine with Ray. Would have drank the whole bottle myself a couple of weeks ago, am improving.

Drinking is definately one of the things in my life that I have to cut back on to get the weight off, drinking wine every night isn't helping my cause, took me a long time to realise that. But now I do am working hard to make a lifestyle change and get Ray to see what I am doing aand why.

Fraid Ray is a couple of cans a night guy, no harm in that, he justs need to see that I am changing my habits for health reasons and support me in it.
