Default Down 100!

Hi,
I don't post here often anymore, but I need to put this out into the universe. As of this moment, I weigh 100 pounds less than I did when I had my lap and surgery in 2004. Yay me!
I was fairly successful with the surgery, but 2013 was a very difficult year and I put on at least 30 pounds. I started eating Paleo in May (which is very similar to the diet my surgeon's office suggested) and lost 50 pounds. I love that my band is still working after all this time.
To borrow a phrase from Jiff, the pants-ometer will be my guide in 2015. Heres to a smaller, healthier me.

chickadee my dear- you are FABULOUS!!!!!!! congratulations!!!! and you DO need to stop by a little more often - we need to hear from you. not nagging - just saying.

and your experience reinforces ONE of the reasons I had the surgery: it's a tool that's there to help us ANYTIME.

So what's your favorite paleo find? I've been reading a lot about it.

Thanks y'all!

Jiff, to be honest, I should probably say I'm eating Primal, not Paleo, because I've reintroduced some dairy back into my diet. It does not affect me adversely in small quantities.

Anyway, the best thing about Primal is that it feels so natural to me. I rarely feel like I'm on a diet. The focus is on quality proteins, non-starchy veggies, good fat and some fruit. I eat no sugar (but will use honey or real maple syrup on occasion), wheat products, rice, legumes or soy. I also don't touch anything artificial or highly processed. It sounds hard, but it really isn't. I don't track or count anything, which is nice. I just eat when I'm hungry and make sure it's Primal. I also work out like a fiend right now since I'm unemployed. Might as well make hay while the sun shines!

So, there's your long answer to a short question!

Hang in there all you WLS people. Hopefully 2015 will be the best year yet!
