Default Food Comments!!!

Eating my salmon (in a pouch) at my desk today, trying to get through some work and eat fairly healthy and conveniently. A coworker came in to tell me all about the newest research on mercury, and the problems with tuna and farmed salmon and can linings, etc. This is the same coworker who talked about the fruit I consume and the amount of sugar that's in it and the kidney problems that my spinach could aggravate.

You know what? I know. Give me a food, and I will tell you why it's bad for me to eat it. But since my only alternative is starving -- which is also not all that healthy -- I'm going to make my choices and try to feel good about them. And you know what? I have deadlines. I don't have any desire for unsolicited discussions about food for the entire eight hours we share an office and I'm trying to justify the fact that I draw a paycheck here.

<sigh>

Laurie!!!!! I am so sorry! Some people suffer from "know it all syndrome" and "insert foot in mouth to much syndrome" and "some people just suck syndrome."

The smart *** in me would have been, well I will let you know in a year if I have kidney problems, so don't stay awake at night worrying....!!!!

I hope you get your work done and this fly goes away to a different corner!

What she said!!!

Of course, I would have taken in one step further and asked "Oh goody, it's my turn tomorrow, right?!" At the look of confusion, I would have said "Tomorrow I get to tell you everything I think you're doing wrong, I trust."

LOL. Thanks for relating, guys. I know she means well, but it was just really frustrating, as I am going through a challenging time in terms of staying on plan. Don't make it harder for me!
