I have been struggling a bit lately, after being at this for 6 months (And 54 pounds!). I keep looking at the big picture, and getting depressed by how far I still have to go. So, I slip up a bit here, and a bit there, and it's adding up to a weight stall.
In order to get my focus back, I am challenging myself to 1 week on plan.
Seven days in a row.
If I don't make it to 7, I don't get mad. I just start over. If I do make it to 7, I celebrate my accomplishment, and then go for another week.
I need to focus on the now. On the small steps that ultimately will get me to goal.
My plan involves a food plan, and an exercise plan. Though, if you wish to join me in this, you can do either or both.
I've been doing 5:2, so my food goal is to stay within my calorie limit every day. And my fitness goal is 3-5 miles/day with my Leslie Sansone WATP DVDs.
Today I hit my exercise goal, and am on track to hit my calorie goal.
Today is day 1/7.
P.S. Feel free to join in at any time. This is a rolling challenge.
Mandy - I read about this on the other thread, and thought, I wonder if she minds if I join her. And then, of course, I read that you were inviting people to this thread to join you. I absolutely need this because of the reasons that you were suggesting.
I, too, am committed to 7 days perfectly on plan, but for me, there is special significance in these next 7 days. I have my final weigh in for my biggest loser challenge scheduled for 11/12, and I need a good weigh in to bring home the cash, baby! Also, I have just felt like I am losing too slowly lately, and I know that it has a lot to do with my nutritional indiscretions.
Here's my deal with myself. If I stay on plan for all seven days, and win the money, I will use the money for something totally decadent for myself. Probably spend it on my first professional cut and color so that my hair looks more "professional." If I don't stay on plan for all seven days, but win the money anyway (a definite possibility), I will spend it on my husband. Which I will enjoy doing because I know exactly what he wants.
11/5/2014 - Controlled calories. No evening snacking. Walked/Ran 3.1 miles.
11/6/2014 - Controlled calories. No evening snacking. Lifted weights.
11/7/2014 - Controlled calories. No evening snacking. Walked/Ran 3.1 miles. Woke up at 2:00 a.m. so hungry I couldn't sleep. Got up and ate (maybe a bit too much), but still going to count it as a day on plan. Will eat more strategically so I avoid going to bed that hungry again.

Not to be too whiny too soon, but it may be a challenging seven days! Thanks for starting this, Mandy! Excited you're here too, Jenni!

Calorie goal: 1500-1600
Exercise goal: 5 miles with Leslie
Water goal: 3L (6 - .5L bottles)
I've been to MFP and planned out my food for the day. Now I just need to stick to it!
6pm update: 3/5 miles done. 4/6 bottles done. About to prepare dinner.
11pm update: 5/5 miles done. 6/6 bottles done (plus a couple) and food for the day all but done - 1517 calories. I'm gonna go have a little sweet treat after my 2 mile workout.
Food: 1800-2000 calories (5:2 high day)
Exercise: 5 miles with Leslie
Water: 6 - .5L bottles
5pm update: 3/5 miles done. 3/6 bottles of water done. Dinner planned, calorie estimate for the day: 1800
10:45pm Update: 5/5 miles done (plus 1!). 6/6 bottles of water done. Calories finished at 1810 (adjusted for the weight of the banana, it was a big one!)
Yesterday was a little rough because I just didn't feel like eating which is weird for me!
Today: Low carb day 3 Liters of water.
So I am really thinking about switching my plan up. The low car is really hard on my system....thinking of just doing it when I hit plateaus and doing more of a calorie cycle with good carbs.
Today and tomorrow are going to be big tests. I'm having dinner out tonight, and lunch out tomorrow. Hoping I can keep things light and stay within my calorie goal.
Food: 1500-1600
Exercise: 5 miles with Leslie
Water: 6 bottles/100 oz.
4:45pm update: 5/5 miles done (in one go!). 3/6 bottles done. Dinner is still a mystery but I've learned that it's probably fried chicken, so I can plan accordingly.
11:10pm update: 5/5 miles done. 6/6 bottles done. Calories estimated @ 1520 (but could have been higher since I didn't have a nutrition guide for the catered meal, so I used Boston Market calories)
