Can't lose weight after stopping Celexa
I might have posted this before but 2 years ago I was at my lowest weight post pregnancy after doing Atkins (I had been doing really well and had lost 20 pounds), my doctor put me first on Lexapro to help control my anxiety then switched me to Celexa as it was cheaper. In the 5 months I was on it I gained 20 pounds, I weaned myself off because of the weight gain (and because I was right back to where I had started!). Some of the weight gain could be blamed on lack of exercise during a back injury but not the full 20. Over the next year and a half I have gained an additional 40, I have tried to do Atkins and calorie counting combined with exercise to no avail. I don't always eat healthy, but most days especially when I'm working I'm likely to only eat maybe 2 meals. Uusally it's a struggle to eat enough calories in a day unless it's a day I grab food on the way home (which I try not to do). At this point I am so uncomfortable with my weight, I weigh 40 pounds more than the highest pregnancy weight I was at. My doctor is more concerned about keeping my anxiety and depression controlled than my weight. I did get them to run labs and everything is good including my thyroid.
Sorry about the long post, basically I am wondering if anybody else has had this issue or if maybe someone has an idea of what to do. At this time the only meds I'm taking is Wellbutrin and Klonapin as needed for the anxiety.
