Good morning! It's a tad "fresh" out there at 54F but Jazz and I sat on the deck and enjoyed the morning. It would be a grand day to do some gardening but I have my morning already booked to take a new handler and her dog to the nursing home for orientation. Chantale is a nurse so will have no problem and "Jackson" is a golden retriever so I am expecting a good test. We've never had a golden in the programme that flunked out.
On with the weekend! Come and chat a bit and have a coffee.
Good morning! Nothing like a Saturday morning with coffee, sun and quiet. I have several niggles to do today: groceries, cleaning, laundry but this evening brother and SIL will arrive for a couple days. They live in NC and are doing an east coast road trip to see several people. I am looking forward to the visit since we don't get to see them nearly enough.
Ruth, hope your orientation goes well. Goldens are awesome dogs aren't they. We haven't had a dog for several years but I would like to get one.
Ok, I think I will go make a smoothie and put my shopping list together. Have a great day, chicks!
Good morning! Ending the school year seems to take more energy this year- but no idea why. Hopefully I will be back full time here starting Tuesday!
Be well-
It's not quite that cool here, but it feels good to have the doors and windows open and the curtains fluttering in the refreshing breeze.
My neighbors across the street are having a big yard sale today and they're already out there setting up. I hope the rain holds off for them! I may wonder over after a while to see if they have any goodies, but first I want to get a few appetizers prepped so I can just pop them in the oven this evening.
This morning Jiffypop and our former Mods, Leenie and Lauren, are driving down from northern New Jersey to spend the day, and we're going to Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse to browse the shops and have lunch. I'm looking forward to good times!
Well, I'd better finish my coffee and start getting ready.
I've already had my first round of coffee and chores, now I'm out on the porch with round two coffee and back in to do some more stuff. This is my last day at home before we travel since I work tomorrow. I have to go meet with the prospective tenant then I'll pull the suitcases out and start putting things in.
It's a beautiful day here and my yard is looking chipper! Have a great Saturday everyone!
I am working late morning into early afternoon. This evening we are going to a charity event with some of DH's family. It will be outdoors and HOT.
Big news yesterday - I heard from my doctor about my xrays and now have an official diagnosis for the pain in my left hip. Calcific tendinitis. I see a hip specialist on Thursday; I got lucky with a cancellation. I am going to ask him if my self-diagnosed wrist tendonitis and my shoulder pain (since shoulders are the most common spot for this type of tendinitis) could be the same thing. I hope he's open to talking about those since he is a hip specialist.
Good morning. I "slept in" until 5 this morning. I wonder if having a ww pasta supper did that.
Right after I'm done with Paul, I'm getting into garden dud and doing an hour or so outdoors. I have decided to schedule that kind of ME time daily for a week or so because I refuse to let this summer slip by too fast!
My friend Rachel is coming over this afternoon for a "chat". We see each other briefly as we do things in the Village but this will be an official time. She is the woman who got married last July and I suspect there is a bit of trouble in paradise, alas! Her mother is a bit strange and R. needs an ear. She is not bringing her dog as Bluto is a huge Rottie and would think my darling Jazz was a big squirrel.
The Village is gearing up for the summer influx of cottagers and campers. Of the 15 cars in the village grocery store yesterday, nine were from PA. We have lots of summer folks, many of whom have been coming here for years. It's nice to see old friends again and they do make things a tad more lively than in winter.
Karen, I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis and hope the specialist recommends a treatment that gives you relief from all your aches & pains.
Ruth, I hope you have a nice chat with Rachel and all is well with her.
Debbie, yay for finding a new tenant for your rental!
I had such a nice day yesterday with some very dear friends, and the day flew by way too fast. We all vowed to get together more often, and next time it will be my turn to visit them. Eating was pretty much OP, with the exception of a piece of coconut cream pie that the restaurant we had lunch at is famous for. But I didn't eat the crust, so that counts as something - right?
This morning I have to do a bit of grocery shopping and plan to go to the noon Mass since I missed going last night. Then I plan to spend a lazy afternoon lounging by the pool.
Have a great day - it's absolutely beautiful here!
Hey ladies. We have sun this morning and it looks to be a lovely day. We have company so I am trying to come up with a "sightseeing" type adventure. I am happy to see them but no garden time today...
Tammy, have a safe trip and good luck on the food choices.
Cottage, enjoy your pool time!
Debbie, good news on the tenant!
Karen, hopefully having an official diagnosis is the key to finding relief.
Ruth, enjoy your day.
Gosh it feels like life passes me by lately when I am at work. So happy to be home enjoying coffee with the pups. DS is sleeping which is fine by me. Nice to enjoy the quiet. It is a beautiful morning which I would normally spend riding. Lately hormones are doing a number on me. So incredibly fatigued. I may have my bloods drawn tomorrow as I have a script. My Lt has commented frequently how tired I look. Lol I do look like a mess most days.
So today I will stay home and study. How exciting. Coconut may get a bath as his feet are black from running through the flowers. Mick's lack of "control" at night seems to be alleviated by taking away their water dish when I go to bed.
Tammy have a great time in CA
Karen hope you get some relief
Debbie congrats on finding a tenant
Ruth hope the Golden tests well (I love them!!!)
Beth enjoy your company
Linda I would have eaten the crust lol
Bea glad summer break is almost here for you
Cyndi hope you get some relaxing time soon
is it wrong that I would rather take a nap than a shower at 8:25 am lol
I am finally getting back on here. I have been home since late Thursday but have been consumed with cleaning house, laundry and events that were already planned. It was quite a shock to come from Portland where there was no humidity to almost 100 humidity here at home.
I need to go back and read threads to catch up on what everyone has been doing. Today I have more laundry to do so I am caught up before going back to work tomorrow.
