I'm not the best at taking large pills. And to me the IP calcium pills are like horse pills. Just not going to happen.
Does anyone else take liquid calcium? I found one that also has magnesium, zinc, vitamin D, and trace minerals. BUT - as a supplement it fails the 0 carb rule because it has 9g of carbs in every two tablespoons.

I highlighted my thoughts above
Can you break the large pills into smaller pieces?
I can't stand horse pills either, Kimmie. I also have read & heard from some health providers that inorganic preparations of calcium (incl. those in IP) can accumulate in the wrong places in your body, like joints and breast tissue.
Just to play it safe while on IP, I used Reviva Liquid High Absorption Calcium Carbonate from Costco online, and took half the daily recommended amount, with 6 carbs. Because I chose lower carb IP foods & veggies, the added carbs worked out for me (I stuck to vanilla or chocolate RTD, BBQ soynuts, strawberry banana RTD, and chicken soup --not the noodle one). My coach was fine with it.
Calcium supplementation is a sacred cow in the same way that low fat, high carb diet was in the 1980/90s and look where that got us. Until I read solid evidence that choking down these horse pills provides a tangible benefit, I'll follow my own intuition on supplements. As much as I adore IP, I feel they are a) trying to avoid lawsuits by requiring supplements b) increasing their profit margin.

I beleive MAGNESIUM is much more important that calcium supplementation for most of us!
The liquid calcium supplements I checked out had magnesium. That said, it's something to check with coaches & it's easy enough to compare the nonIP liquid preparations against IP supplements. A number of IPers at my clinic tossed out their IP supplements and did fine using their pre-IP vitamins or none at all.
