Default Snoring/Broken Sleep

So I haven't had a good night's sleep in about 4 to 5 years. To the point where I'm used to it. Every night I wake up around 2 or 3, then fall back to sleep. Much to my embarrassment, my boyfriend informed me I snore. I never used to snore! I think my snoring is waking me up in the middle of the night. And I think I'm snoring because of the weight I put in (around 5 years ago). I've always been heavy, but i was hanging around the 170/180 range. At my largest (225), currently at 209.

Anyone had the experience where gaining weight makes you snore/lose sleep? I'm hoping losing weight will help in this area. I don't want snore anymore. And I really miss sleeping straight through.

You should be tested for sleep apnea. If you have it, treating it will help with your weight loss. A good night's sleep is essential for a healthy body.

as for snoring alone, it does improve vastly with weight loss. I used to wake myself up snoring as well (I don't have apnea). Not to mention you have a harder time getting comfortable as well.

Yes, this was an issue with me. My snoring was incredibly embarrassing to me. I never wanted to sleep over at a friend's house or anything growing up. It made college very difficult - I always had to find a way home at the end of the night instead of crashing in the nearest dorm or apartment with everyone else!

Since I've lost my weight, I have been told by my family that I no longer snore, which is a huge relief. I almost want to have a big slumber party just to make up for all the ones I lost out on!
