I have been searching and trying to get as much information as I can about Weight Watchers Online vs Meetings. I don't do well in crowds so am thinking online would be better. Is there anything I need to buy or once I join online everything I need is there? I hear of people talking about calculators, food companions, dining out companions, etc. I want to be sure I have all I need when I start.

I didn't buy anything, I just use the online tools.

I joined in Jan. and I also did not purchase anything in addition to the membership. I use the ww iphone app, ww barcode app, and the website on occasion. I know you can buy a "home kit" but i haven't personally seen a need for it since i can always pull up what i need on my phone.

I started 4 weeks ago and bought the entire kit from ebay. Big mistake! I'm an online member and haven't even looked at the ebay books. Don't buy anything until after you are a member! As far as online vs meetings, I only do online because I can't afford the monthly meetings in person. I paid 145 for a year online and have everything I need (willpower included lol).

I just joined ww online last month and the online "tools" I use are the etools online and the ww app on my phone. I love online because I tried meetings last year and just didn't enjoy it. I have had just as much success (if not more) being online than in the meetings, however, you must have constant will power and accountability since you will be "alone".
