My name is Stacey, I'm 22 years old, 5'11 and I have about 145 pounds to lose.
I'm serious this time. I've tried time and time again, but this time I'm ready. I'm sick of being uncomfortable in my own skin, and I'm tired of being in pain. Since I've started eating healthier this time around, I've lost 10.6 pounds so far. I can already feel myself slowly going off but, I don't want to. I could really use the support and motivation, and would love to give some as well. Anyone out there with similar stats interested in an email buddy, feel free to shoot me a private message.
Good luck on your journey! One of the most useful aspects I have discovered is posting on the Daily Accountability thread under Weight Loss Support. Having others see what you ate, how much you exercised, and/or how much you weigh really seems to help.
I've been here for a little over a week and I've discovered that unlike real life, everyone here wants you to succeed and is willing to help.
Hey Stacey, I am in the same boat as you. I too have over 100 lbs to lose. I am at an 8 lb loss thus far. For me planning is key (so far) Last night for example, instead of preparing my breakfast and lunch in advance I got sucked into more than a few hours of Star Trek (damn Netflix!!) So this morning I didn't have time to make breakfast or lunch, and had Tim Horton's for breakfast (Egg whites, slightly less bad for you) and Lunch will be whatever the lunch lady has. It always tastes good, but she is all about the full fat/calories/sugar etc. Not the best plan if you are trying to eat healthy! If I don't have a plan of what I am going to eat and cook for the day I sort of feel lost and will just wander around my house aimlessly eating whatever is around. I am also not super adventurous with food. I will try some new things sometimes, but it can be hard to find new healthy things that actually appeal to me so I don't get in a salmon rice and broccoli rut. I know I need to switch it up when my bf says "Oh... Salmon... Again..." lol
Anyway, I know how you feel needing support and motivation! Lets not give up!
I feel you on the motivation thing. I have around 100 lbs to lose and its so daunting! but as i work out and Eat right, i keep my goals set on 5 lb increments which makes it oodles easier. It's always hardest when first starting out. plus, im trying to quit smoking, which is making my cravings ridiculous!
I'll help you out as best I can if you would like to exchange email addresses. I'm a very bubbly and outgoing person so I think that we would make a great pair!
I apologize that it's taken a while for me to respond. I've been having computer issues, but now I'm back.
I'd definitely be interested in having an e-mail buddy (or even buddies) My fiancee is supportive in my weight loss, but it'd be nice to have another girl who is in the same position to talk to.
Airycuh,
I attempted to private message you, but it wouldn't allow me to? Lemme know if you're still interested in exchanging e-mail addresses.
Hi everyone
I've been struggling to lose weight forever and have never really put all my effort into actually trying my best. This time around i'm determined to stick to it. I started the PINK method on Tuesday so i'm on day 3, and its hard so i decided i would try these forums for extra support. I'm 22 and i hope to lose around 100 as well, but i mostly just want to be more comfortable with myself and healthy.
Congrats on your determination. Losing weight is a difficult process at times. I'm sure we all can agree on that. Let's do it though. Let's give it our all, and make our goals a reality!
so what kind of diets is everyone doing? and how are they working for you? So far the pink method is going quite well, i've lost 3 pounds since tuesday hopefully i can keep myself from cheating and it continues to go well. I've noticed on some other threads people are weighing in on the same day and then posting so they're being accountable to someone. Anyone interested in doing something like this? Plus if someone is doing really well every week then we can ask the secret to their success :P
Hey Stacey welcome to the board! Congrats on the weight loss so far. Every lb makes a difference even though we are always the last to notice for ourselves.
