Default Munchies Killers

How do you kill the munchies? In the evening when I'm winding down and watching tv or reading, I tend to get the munchies REALLY badly. How do you handle this? Chew gum, brush your teeth, eat celery? Let's share tips and ideas!

air popped popcorn w/ "spray" butter (I can't believe its not butter or Olivo) and shake on popcorn flavors (kettle corn w/ a sprinkle of sea salt.....mmmmm). Kills the munchies and helps with the need to have something to eat while watching tv at night....

My favorite snack is a 25 calorie packet of diet swiss miss with a 10 calorie mini cup (the liquid) of land o lake half and half with a packet of stevia. Its rich and delicious to say the least.

I'm a smoker. It kills my appetite for the most part. I'm NOT advocating that in any way though, of course.

I'm a sucker for blackberries.

A cup of healthy cereal eaten dry makes a pretty good munchie or how about salsa and cuke chips ... yummy!
I also like Weight Watchers String Cheese ... it's fun to peel and eat and has only 50 calories each.

I second green / herbal tea sweetened with stevia. I particularly like the Yogi brand of herbal teas.

A third of a cup of sunflower or pumpkin seeds in the shell and a cup of unsweetened tea or a diet soda. It takes a while to shell and eat the seeds.

Another trick that I use is to chew gum. It keeps my mouth busy and tends to help when I think I'm hungry even if I don't need the calories. If I am truly hungry and need the calories, the gum won't work....its a good way to see if you're truly hungry and need a good snack or just "hungry" for other reasons....
