So, I'm at my calorie max for the day... but I'm STARVING!!!! What do y'all do when you're at your max but you're hungry? I'm drinking water, but as someone who has a history of anorexia, it seems counter-intuitive to not eat when you're hungry. Maybe one of you can help me muddle through all this mess? Thanks!!
Are you actually that hungry? Or bored? Maybe you didn't get enough of something today so your body is craving it! When I'm that hungry and I'm at my max I just so go sleep!! Look forward to breakfast in the morning, if you're so hungry you can't sleep then eat something!
Me too I'm hungry! I so want some chocolate, or ice cream...I decided to drink some coffee because I need to stay up late tonight and it's not sitting well in my hungry tummy.
if you're actually hungry (think of the grosses, most low cal veg you have in your fridge. if you're willing to eat it until your satisfied with no dressing, no oil, no nada- you're hungry). i say go ahead and eat it no snacks, no treats, just fuel.
Part of it is just white-knuckling it through the hunger if it's mild, or having a small snack if it's more acute. The psychological part is learning to look at hunger as a natural and transient state of the body, rather than a medical emergency. Of course I don't always follow my own advice...
I'm eating 1400 right now. I totally understand about how that might be too low. but with my eating disorder past, it really scares me to go above that. I'm losing at a nice rate right now. Like I said before, I just don't want to get used to ignoring that hungry feeling and fall back into old ways.... does that make sense? I know it probably sounds weird.

Gosh, no, you are making perfect sense & do not sound weird. 1,400 seems really low for your weight. I am on 1,800 (& averaged 1,900 per day last week), and lost 2 lbs last week, and the week before, and 4 in my first week. I do exercise quite a bit, but honestly I am rarely hungry & certainly not ever stomach-pain hungry! If I am, I eat, regardless of calorie limit! I have also found that you need to fit the calories to your natural rhythm - like I say, I always get so hungry at night, so I eat less during the day, and lots at night; I also eat my heaviest meal latest. The days I don't do that, my calories get kind of messed up! But this approach would be a complete disaster for some people I imagine! I think you just have to find what works for you, though I appreciate what a struggle it must be

When I get through my calories too early in the day the best thing for me to do is to leave the house or at least get outside. If I can't go out, I try to fill my belly with coffee, tea, or water. At least that's what I'm trying.
Sometimes being actually truly physically hungry has more to do with WHAT you're eating, than how much.
Now that I think about it, what I eat is pretty carb heavy, which might be the problem??
Every day breakfast and lunch are the same: Oatmeal with a banana for breakfast and a PPJ with yogurt for lunch. Then I eat enough dinner to get me to 1400.
All bread etc that I eat is 100% whole wheat though...
